These lights got here and I read the instructions that said they had some charge to test them and make sure they worked. They didn't turn on : ( So I called the help line. They where very helpful and sent out another set within two days I received them. I had hoped to have them up by the past Saturday July 15. Because we where having guest. The replacements came July 17. But they work wonderfully. Infact they stay on all night. ( picture taken at 5:30 a.m.) The light that they give out is just right. And they are a warm light. They look great. So glad I got them. We are in California's central valley where it is hot. So they are getting charged plenty. Thanks for the great customer service I received. Update Aug 18,23. One of the bulbs is flickering then goes off for awhile. :( Disappointing because it's only been a month. Now I'm not sure if they will last. Amazon gave me a # to call. Said I have a three year warranty on them. Called the # . Left messages that didn't go through. Can't seem to talk to anyone at this point 😕 They did get back to me. And sent out another bulb. The person I was communicating with was very helpful. My solar lights are all working and I love them. So glad I bought them. ... show more

I’ve had this light set hanging around my patio for over a year. They are great! If you want dark to check out the stars, they have an off button. Otherwise, they come on at dusk.

Great comfortable mood lighting.

Easy to set up. Just turn the switch to "on" position on the back of solar panel and push stake into ground (other install options like a clip of screwing into a permanent surface). As far as hanging, for me, I have these on my deck wrapped around the railings. To give you a sense of length I had to railings that meet in a corner (so perpendicular to each other) each about 7.5 feet long and I have the 27 foot string of lights. When wrapped it was pretty much a perfect fit. So I needed almost twice the length to be able to wrap. Brightness: They're not overly bright so don't think you're going to light a walkway or something. They're perfect for a summer night on the deck (or otherwise outside) and you're not sitting in pitch black. Great mood lighting which I love but I'll probably get a larger light (like maybe a battery powered lantern type) but that's my set up. Durability: These are not cheapo wired lights. The wire has a thickness that makes you think "durable". Just installed them so I'll have to see but I think I'll be good. Why a 4 out of 5: I typically don't give anything a 5 but these were exactly what I wanted. ... show more

I was looking at these lights gleaming beautifully just last night and said to myself, 'damn these lights have lasted quite a while, and I really enjoy them, I should post that to an amazon review'.So here we are; I purchased in 2019 and they are Still going strong outdoors through wind, rain, animals, cold, heat. They shine just as bright and consistently as when I bought them nearly a half a decade ago and they are that beautiful edison light design! Around the same time I also bought solar christmas-tree type lights, they weathered and frayed after just a year or two, these have well insulated wires with no deterioration after twice as long. Barn Solar Lighting Upgrade Complete!

I bought this item to add solar lighting to our new horse barn. My wife and I both have a rural American family history from different parts of the country and we have both known families to lose a barn to an electrical fire. So, I wanted to try low voltage solar lighting to avoid all the hazards and risks of electrical systems in dusty barn environments. These lights are NOT bright, but they provide plenty of light to take care of the horses in the early morning before dawn. I could not be happier! That said, there was some modifications to get this to work. I wanted a wall switch that we could turn on when we walked into the tack room instead of the dusk activated switch that comes standard on this set. This item does not come with a switch. Additionally I needed about ten feet of wiring from the solar array to the wall switch, but the product comes out of the box with only three'ish feet of wire from the solar array to the first light. The modifications were pretty easy and there is no risk of shock because the system is low votlage. When you cut the wire between the solar array and the first light there are just two conducting wires in the cable - a white wire carrying the current and a black wire returning the current to the battery pack in the solar array. I bought a 25' roll of 14/2 NM wire, a two-pole single throw light switch, and a single gang junction box for this project. All of this cost about $30. I cut off the solar array and then mounted the solar array on the outside of the barn. The pigtail of cable hanging from the solar array about two feet longs was fed through a hole I drilled in the barn siding. Then I connected 14/2 NM wire to the two wires in the pigtail (white to white and black to black). I ran this 14/2 cable another six feet to my single gang junction box I mounted where I needed it inside the barn. Once I had the solar array cable all the way to the switch I went back outside and attached the lights to the barn eave. Each light has a hard formed "T" of plastic that includes a small hole. I used #6 drywall screws to screw each light to the eave for a clean installation. Next, I ran another 14/2 NM cable from the junction box back up through the top plate of barn wall and out to the exterior corner of the barn where my run of lights ended after I screwed them to the eave. I wired this 14/2 cable into the two connectors of the light string (white to white and black to black). After I had all the long cable runs in place I wired in the switch in the junction box. At this point there were two 14/2 cables coming into the junction box. Take the black wire from both and wire nut them together. Then take the two white wires and connect them to the two poles on the switch. Then screw the switch into the junction box and add a cover plate. I caulked up all the holes I drilled through the barn siding and finished the whole project in about four hours. Bottom line - these lights are designed to come on at dusk and stay lit until the battery dies a few hours later. However, by adding a light switch and normal two conduit wiring you can make them into a switched light where the solar array charges the battery pack all day. This enables you to go out to the barn before the sun comes up and flip on solar lights with no fear of electrical hazards that have plagued agricultural buildings for a 100 years. ... show more

4 Years and still burning.

Love The Ambiance In The Evening

I read reviews prior to purchasing these lights. Considering the cost, I was concerned how well solar lights would work in the back of our lot. I could not be more satisfied with the amount of light they provide. Not only does it provide a soft ambiance, but we can now safely see while walking down steps and toward our firepit. We purchased 16 gauge wire and attached the strands of lights with small black tie wraps. Then we hung the strands from the back of our house and out to three separate trees. This process allowed us to slide the separate lengths of lights to desired locations. Using eyebolts, we tightened and secured the wire lines from each point. This helped to keep the strands of lights from sagging too much (due to their weight over a long distance). We also purchased the six foot extension cords (sold separately) to provide extra line needed to reach a couple of our trees. Once everything was in place and the solar panels were installed, we used black electrical tape to wrap over the end portion of cords. The first night we had successful lighting. (Note: Remember to cut on the solar panels early so they can charge before hanging.) With large trees, we hung our solar panels a bit lower on the trunks. They seem to get plenty of light to charge during the day (staying lit ~ 6-7 hours). ... show more
