Our lights came well-packaged. They are sturdy and easy to hang. The color of the light is a nice warm white. They provide nice decorative lighting. Note: DECORATIVE lighting. We have our lights up around the entire perimeter of our average size front porch, but it is not enough light to read by, nor is it bright enough for much of anything. They're pretty, but we are disappointed, especially for how highly rated they were. This brand has a matching product with half the brightness. The difference must be negligible, and I'd suggest saving yourself a few bucks by going with those. Or skip them altogether and go with outlet-based lighting instead of solar. It's a shame - we spent $80 for two strands of these so we could be more energy efficient, but I feel we'd have gotten more light from a 10-20$ string of those cheap decorative electrical outdoor lights from Walmart. A question for the seller: If we were to purchase a converter connect these to an electrical charge, are they capable of a higher light output?

We bought one 27' string to hang in the beams of our new pergola and really like them. They give a nice warm accent lighting, great for sitting on the deck for dinner or drinks or just hanging out. It's not much light, but we have other lights if we want to read a book or magazine or something. Very easy to install and nice not to have a power cord running up the side of the house from the outlet to the beams. We're considering getting a second set for outside the front door. You can turn the lights off via a switch behind the solar panel, but when the switch is off the panel also doesn't charge the batteries. After a couple days of switching on/off we decided just to leave the switch on all the time because (a) switching on/off is inconvenient because we mounted the panel high, (b) the lights aren't so bright as to be annoying when we're not using them, and (c) they're solar, so at least we're not racking up the electric bill. The only negative is that the LED Edison bulbs don't have the cool-looking filaments that the incandescent versions do, but the minor aesthetic difference isn't enough to get me to buy an inefficient and shorter-lived incandescent instead of an LED.

To start off with I really like these lights and have purchased two of them. First thing taking apart the solar and exposing the battery there is no rubber gasket on that note the circuit board appears to be well-made and there is gasket material where wire exit. With the Li-ion battery up to 5. to 6 hours of run time may be possible.As other have stated it must be Dark for lights to come on. (No solar charging is the switch) Installed it on a 12 V 12Ah battery for some party lighting at end of driveway needed to last two days, always being on. From the car battery up to the lights I added a 15 foot 14/2 copper SJO and soldered in a voltage regulator. At 300 or so milliamps there was really very little voltage drop and the voltage regulator would compensate a 3 Volt difference Keeping 3.6 volts. This was only a temporary installation and on the light hung some Japanese lanterns 8 inch, putting the battery and voltage regulator in a PVC box. Also if you want to maximize the length of the lights put in a guide wire for support and adjustment on what type of arch you want in the lights.

Sturdy with decent length. Used around my jacuzzi and didn't want electric lighting. These solar lights are perfect. Even comes with a clamp for the solar panel of you choose to not use ground spike. Perfect lighting, truly illuminates the area creating a relaxing atmosphere. I've purchased from big chain stores, different types and fashions. HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST THUS FAR.
