I bought this motor for a longtail build for my 16 foot flat bottom boat. This motor has been extremely reliable easy to work on such as changing spark plugs and oil changing. I have run the motor in some extreme weather such as below freezing and pouring rain and it has run flawlessly. The only problem is that it doesn’t come with an exhaust pipe. ... show more

    • Unable to get warranty support.
Within 3 months of installation the stator failed and thus I have no charging system. I contacted the warranty support at Briggs and Stratton. They informed me warranty support is provided by the local dealers and provided local dealers contacts. I contacted the dealers they have informed me that they can not help me as they do not support it unless it is from the machines they support. I offered to bring in the failed stator and all of the paper work, they still refused. I think BS does build a nice engine, but do not count on warranty support unless your local dealers support the application you that it is being used for. So while I replaced the same engine, I have no warranty. ... show more

The engine was plug and play. Included the starter, starter relay, air and oil filters, and ignition switch. Just install, add oil and go.

    • No Muffler?
The engine does not come with a muffler. It’s like buying a car without rims and tires. Awh Awh!
