Engine came intoday one day early than the said be delivered. Engine was packed well in box. Shrink wrapped and stire foam pieces to protect engine. Slipped in chassis with no problem. Blot holes lined up. Had to tap threads for bolts and little wiring to fit old plugs. Put 1 qt oil in and started up in few turns. Runs well and smooth.     • Older Troybilt
If you have an older Troy-Bilt, or any other mower that's older and you're putting this motor in, it's not cut and dry, you will have to redo the wiring, YouTube videos helped me rewire. Also be aware the four motor mounts come untapped from the factory. You will either have to do it yourself, or find the right bolts and nuts to make it work. ... show more

    • Good replacement for my 19.5hp Briggs
Everything was exact replacement except for wires. I had to splice two wires but it was easy. My new engine arrived in a undamaged box with no issues at all. For reference only- All it took to top my new engine off with oil was exactly one quart.

The 17.5hp intek is an exact replacement for the original 16.5hp that came on the mower. I did have to trim the lower brace on the OE muffler as the ohv cover is slightly larger but everything bolted right up with no problem. Filled it up with sae30 oil, hit the key and rolled over about 5 times to get the fuel going and it fired right up. Runs nice and smooth. Hopefully it'll last another 18 years as the original did. Keep up on the maintenance and they run a long time 👍 ... show more

Dropped right on. You gotta tap those threads first and wire her up. Throttle cable fit nicely and exhaust for Craftsman model. Highly recommend this. Thanks Briggs and Stratton for providing this. I will be buying another for a second mower we once retired
