The lampshade is not anything that is thick or high-quality, but to be honest with you, I got this lamp for the touch, and three levels of dimmable features. These were the features that sold me on the lamp, and they are absolutely fabulous! Because they’re so sensitive to touch no matter where around the lamp you touch this is amazing. Also, the fact that you could plug in your phone from the side using the USB ports is perfect.

I just love this small, very attractive table lamp. It's well-made and easy to assemble. And just when I thought I needed to find a bulb, I saw it came with a LED 60-watt-equivalent 2700K which is my choice of bulb! Anywhere you touch on metal it will turn on. Once on, touch it again as needed until you have the level of brightness you desire (there are 3 levels). After it reaches the brightest level, touch it again and it will turn off. And it has two different, discreet USB charging ports (USB A+C) so you can charge your cell phone. I didn't at first understand what the little round "knob" is for (it looks like a knob to turn on the light but doesn't turn), it's to provide a cradle to hold your cell phone. This lovely and convenient lamp is now in my guest room!

I ordered the black and gold base with the brown shade like the picture shows but what I received was a black and gold base with a black shade. It doesn't bother me about he black shade as far as the lamps look is because it does look nice its just don't give me an option and then just send whatever I don't make decisions easy or timely. The lamp goes from bright, brightest, brighter, and it was flickering before but I tightened the bulb down but I'm watching it. This lamp isn't to work by but it is a good mood lamp, it's got just that amount of brightness to not hurt the eyes like my other desk lamp does. I like the touch to turn on part except when you put something near the base it activates it. I have no problem with the black lampshade because it does look nice just put that option in the pictures. Give us what we're paying for that's what we ask for as consumers.

This is an attractive light and I do enjoy the touch functionality. It's not very bright even though it has 3 setting. The light is flooded straight up,,, mostly. So if you have proper expectations, you can love this light. A great table lamps (compact) but not the best desk lamp.

This is a nice little lamp that is nicely made. Although it took me a while to figure it out, the lamp was ingeniously packed to prevent damage to either the base or the shade. Once you are able to release it from the tentacles of the plastic packaging, it is quite easy to put together and it operates very efficiently!
