Description

Similar to the Breville Smart Oven, but in a smaller, more compact design, this 1800-watt oven offers exceptional cooking convenience while taking up less space on the counter. The unit's 3/5-cubic-foot nonstick interior can accommodate a 12-inch pizza or four slices of bread at a time, while its push- button and turn-knob control panel makes it easy to program. Turn the control dial to select the function--options include Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Broil, Pizza, Cookies, and Reheat. The oven's Element IQ "smart" sensor technology puts the power where it's needed most to ensure energy-efficient operation. For each of the eight pre-set functions, Element IQ automatically adjusts the power and calculates the cooking time. The time and temperature for the pre- set programs can also be manually adjusted to accommodate individual preferences--the oven will even remember the new settings for next time. Use the second control dial for setting the time (from one minute up to two hours) and for adjusting the temperature (from 120 to 450 degrees F), as well as for selecting the number of slices and for setting the toast shade, from light to dark. The control panel also offers a large start/cancel button, a defrost button for frozen foods, and a temperature-conversion button for recipes with cooking temperatures in Celsius. The oven's easy-to-read backlit LCD screen shows the current function, temperature, and adjustments made--plus it illuminates orange to indicate preheating and cooking, then blue to indicate the end of the cooking cycle. Other highlights include a tempered-glass door, three rack positions, and a front-access removable crumb tray for quick cleanup. Accessories include a 10-by-10-inch enamel baking pan and a 10-by-10-inch enamel broil rack. Attractively housed in coated steel with a strikingly modern design, the countertop oven measures 16-1/2 by 14-1/4 by 10 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

  • Great toaster oven
Love it. Simple, reliable, always toasts and heats perfectly. So much better than my previous toaster oven that wanted to moonlight as an air fryer but failed miserably.

  • Great oven, looks nice, built-well, works very well, durable. Glad I bought it.
After checking many brands & reviews chose this one. Highest rating/reviews of many I had checked. Paid a little more, but it's reflected in the product build, durability, look, & feel. This non-convection model works exactly as I had wanted & expected. Note: The oven's outer surface does get very hot, burn you hot. It comes with a large metal tray and a drip-tray. I bought a 2-pack of separate trays which are slightly smaller, & they allow for some heat-flow around them. Two very minor annoyances: The cycle completion-jingle is very quiet, and can be missed if TV is playing. But the On/Off button light-ring turns from red to off, & the temp/timer screen turns from orange (set/running) to blue (done/off), so a glance easily indicates if done. When no longer is use, after a few minutes the screen powers-off -nice. You can "program" the oven just by setting the temperature/time & darkness/#toast slices before activating the oven, and it saves that. When you turn the selector knob, your saved settings appear for that specific selection -nice. But they revert back to default if there is a power-outage or unplugged. Overall, very happy with purchase. ... show more

  • Most Trusted, Compact, Easy to Use Dependable
Unpacking it was a bit challenging as the shipping box is so tight i had to open it on both ends to get the boxed oven out. I made the mistake of returning it the first time because i inserted the crumb tray wrong (upside down) and thought it didn’t fit. My mistake. If you place the crumb tray in wrong, just flip it over and it fits perfectly This is my second Breville Compact Oven which lasted me over 12 years. It still works but the oven function is no longer accurate for baking. The new one works perfectly and fits in my small kitchen. Its easy to use even if you don’t read the instructions, however I recommend reading the manual. It’s very easy to clean but do not use harsh cleaners or you will ruin the crumb tray. That happened to me on my first oven and the company has great customer service and didn’t charge me for replacement of my ruined crumb tray. I highly recommend this oven. It is dependable, easy to use and clean and is by far the safest toaster oven i ever owned. The best value for size and functionality. ... show more

  • Very satisfactory little oven and toaster
I have had this little oven since January, so have had lots of time to use it. It's great! It fits nicely on the end of a kitchen counter, keeps its baking temperature very well, has easy access and a surprisingly large baking pan. A large chicken breast, or two small ones, cook evenly and well. Its toasting options are a little hard to figure out at first, but they are very accurate. The same dial controls the number of slices and the length of the cycle. You have to push the dial on the bottom, then turn it to choose the options. I particularly like that it turns itself off, but does not pop open or eject the slices like an old-fashioned toaster. (My husband thinks it takes too long, but it works for me as I am usually fixing another part of breakfast at the same time.) It is a little expensive, but dependable quality is! I would give it a fifth star if it was just an inch higher, so it would bake something as large as a small turkey breast half. ... show more

  • Just great -- so well designed -- well except for a few unacceptable hot spots...
I've been really reluctant to update my kitchen electronics because I love what I have so much. But age comes with time. I am reviewing here the toaster broiler oven but as background I just want to say: My 25 year old microwave finally gave out and I replaced it with the current version of that model despite the fact that all the reviews suggest that these microwaves give out after a couple of years -- no more couple of decades of use as when they first appeared on the scene. But I was so happy with how the features had improved over the last 25 years -- that just about everything I found irritating about my original microwave had been addressed and many things improved upon that I just been so pleased with having the new one. So my toaster broiler oven is also showing its age. It still works just fine but the paint is chipping, and it has some design flaws. We needed a 2nd one for a 2nd location so I figured it was time to move my current one to the second location and gamble on a new one. My positive experience with the microwave made me much more willing to do so. The Breville does not disappoint, it heats, cooks, broils, toasts everything so much better than my old one. The feature of the bamboo tray on top (purchased separately) is wonderful. Having the oven "pre-heat" to the desired temperature before sticking something in is also wonderful (Though I have not tested whether it does indeed get to the temperature it states. I am just starting to branch out from toast and broiling or simple cooking on the bake feature, like fish -- nothing as sophisticated as bread or pizza yet.) Everything of the limited range I do comes out sooo much better than with my old one. and the subtleties and variations of temperature and style of heating and having a time to set for cooking, etc. is wonderful. But 2 things I find problematic -- the unexpected hot spots -- you can indeed burn yourself is you touch certain parts -- and which parts they are is unexpected -- a corner here, a certain point there. I don't understand -- with all the cleverness and care of the design of features -- how hard could it be to put a little insulating or material that doesn't get so burning hot on the outside? The other issue is that it seems that the oven stays in "standby" mode all the time and you need to unplug it after use. Maybe someone can correct me, but I don't see a clock and the LCD screen stays lit with the temperature of the type of cooking on display 24 hours. That I find annoying but fortunately they have cleverly designed the plug with a hole so it is easy to pull out (see some of the pictures of the item to see what I mean.) Maybe that is safer anyway. SO despite these drawbacks -- even the serious one of somewhat dangerous hot spots -- the features are so wonderful, that I still give it 5 stars. However, if there would be children around or an aging parent, I would not keep it because of the hot spot potential to burn oneself. UPDATE: It's been about 2 months -- and I am even more in love with the Breville now. I appreciate a number of its features that were new to me -- the reheat option (as opposed to bake), the toasting is great. It took a while to get used to how slow everything is -- how long it takes to preheat to the desired temparature, how slowly even broiling takes. But it is worth developing the patience. Everything tastes so much more delicious properly cooked in this slower manner. And I was wrong about the LCD display light not going out; it does eventually. I am not sure how long because I haven't yet noticed when it happens. But I no longer pull out the plug to stop the light. ... show more

  • One of the best small appliances i have purchased
I purchased this in November of 2020 so we are coming up on five years. It has never failed me - i have prepared everything from toast to brownies to frozen pizza to casseroles and meatloaf in it. LOVE the size, how quickly it heats and how simple it is to go from toast to bake to reheat to bagel. I would buy it again in a heartbeat but i dont think i will need to worry about that for awhile :) ... show more
