Braun AIO5 hair clipper review. This appears to be a quality product. I have been using it only for hair clipping, and that will probably be its sole use. In my experience so far, it performs well. Size: The AIO5 is only 6.25 inches long, and weighs just 5.1 oz. The motor sounds more powerful and operates with less hesitation than the one in my last clipper, which was made by a major U.S. clipper manufacturer. With such a small body, the Braun should fit snugly into any hand. One negative comment relates to the user manual, which is almost totally pictorial. No verbal explanations in any language. So here are a couple of things I have learned through experience. While charging, the charging light blinks white. When the clipper is fully charged, the light goes out, and remains unlit. After a 11 minute operational test, the red low-power light on my Braun had still not illuminated. (I can’t imagine a longer operational period than this.) The settings dial has dual scales, one for the short comb (up to 10 mm) and one for the long comb (up to 20 mm). To change the setting, the dial is rotated to the desired length number, provided the setting lock slider is currently in the ‘dash’ symbol position, not the ‘dot’ symbol position. (The ‘dot’ position prevents the height setting from shifting during operation.) The combs have a unique design. They run both in front of the advancing tooth shearing line and behind the tooth shearing line. The teeth cut in between the two comb sections. With two non-cutting sections devoted to skin contact alignment, it may be that the clipper can maintain a better cutting angle, and cut more consistently, compared with previous designs. The power button is made of grippy plastic, which has a nice upscale feel. The fit and finish of all parts is excellent. There are no identifiable mold nibs. I can’t speak about face or body shaving, and the nose hair trimmer I found unimpressive. ... show more

Avoid this trimmer! The guard never remains locked and if it does the head shifts. Three times i have botched my beard. My old reliable Wahl trimmer never faulted until the battery failed to hold a charge. This Braun trimmer is overrated and as well cumbersome. The bad part of returning the item is after botching your beard three times it takes several weeks to regrow and by then your return time has expired.
