Description

Two Steps Forward in Foot Drop Support For individuals dealing with the day- to-day challenge of foot drop, remaining independently mobile can be quite a task. The potential for stumbles and falls is a constant danger. The AFO Swedish Foot Support by Brace On is designed specifically to provide the required ankle support and joint stability to help minimize the risk.Foot drop makes it difficult to lift the front part of your foot, so it might drag on the floor when you walk. This can cause you to raise your thigh when you walk, as though climbing stairs (steppage gait), to help your foot clear the floor. This unusual gait might cause you to slap your foot down onto the floor with each step.Constructed of lightweight and flexible injection molded polyethylene with hook and loop closures at ankle and calf, the AFO Swedish Foot Support provides all the strength to keep you on the go, and because it can be taken on and off so easily, you can decide when you want to wear it.The open heel and lower calf design combined with its lightweight low-profile, and moldable and trimmable footplate means it can be worn inside most shoes. Available as Left or Right, Mens or Womens.Product Benefits:- Provides ankle and joint stability - Helps reduce stumbles and falls - Lightweight and flexible - Hook and loop closure - Ability to be trimmed for custom fit - Can be worn inside most shoes - Available Left or Right, Men’s or Women’s

  • Works perfectly *
Style: Men Right
We tried using the straps included, but they weren’t positioned correctly. Even if I did need them, which I don’t! I took all whole straps off and put the best compression socks over them and it is working much better. The only thing is, the brace on my thigh is not adjustable as my leg is still too wide. Fortunately it’s not too tight ... show more

  • Save your $$$ and time
Style: Women Left
This product is very poorly designed. I have Drop Foot on my left foot. first off, It did not fit in my shoe correctly, and uncomfortable to wear. The worst part was that the part of the brace that rests on your calf is tight and the velcro is not strong at all. I could not get the strap to stay in place. It kept on popping off. This could have been very unsafe. The only good thing about this product is that the strap was long enough to go around my calf giving me the option to trim it if I wanted. ... show more

  • Will velcro last?
Style: Men Right
I've been buying this style of AFO for several years from different vendors. It works great for me and prevents my foot from dropping and avoids tripping. I would highly recommend it to anyone with foot drop issues. From my experience, all the suppliers seem to use the exact same plastic part. It is very durable, fits inside my shoe, and is comfortable. The difference between vendors is the velcro strapping used to wrap around the shin. Some are heavily padded, and some are not padded at all. The velcro in the heavily padded ones wears out the fastest, since the little hooks clog up with fuzz. Once that happens, they don't stay attached to my leg, and I have to use a supplemental strap which is a nuisance. I think the strap from this particular supplier will last longer than the others, but might be slightly less comfortable. By the way, the lower strap became unglued immediately and fell off. I can get along without it. ... show more

  • Light weight, sturdy, relatively comfortable, but quality control needs work
Style: Women Left
The braces were for my foot drop, and while they're well made, clearly supportive, and definitely affordable, the quality control could use some work- Shown in the photos, you can see that the left brace had a single strap at the top, but the right brace had two straps- one near the ankle, and another at the top. All straps are merely glued onto the plastic brace with industrial strength adhesive. I'm not sure what this means in terms of strength or use and wear and tear from prolonged usage. There is nothing to hold the foot into the brace- I'd have to install more velcro straps, using similar adhesive or even rivets to hold the velcro straps in. The provided straps are far, far too long, and were perhaps intended so users could cut the straps shorter when needed. Understood, but as they are, they are ridiculously long. As they are, and as they're intended, they're perfectly fine. They're sturdy, flexible, comfortable and easy to customize for each individual's specific needs. Note that I did take out the original shoe's inserts- the soft, spongy footbed insert/insole in order to get the braces to fit inside my shoes. ... show more

  • It’s works but it could be constructed better
Style: Women Right
I bought this for my tendonitis in my ankle. It works, it keeps me from bending my foot but the construction is cheap. It does t have anything to hold the brace to my foot. I had to use athletic tape to keep it secure. The straps around the calf and ankle are just glued on. It’s just a cheap design.

  • Good for foot drop not knee or leg support

  • Not for severe foot drop. Didn’t work.
Style: Women Right
I have severe foot to drop in both feet due to spine damage. I have worn prescription AFO braces for over 10 years and are custom-made covered by insurance but VERY expensive. Over 1K per pair. My custom one snapped and broke last month and insurance does not cover a new pair for another year for me. I got these on Amazon, and although they look good, they are. EXTREMELY Flimsy. They felt comfortable however, when trying to walk, they could not hold me nor my feet up at all. I did not take a video, but both my feet were literally dragging in these, even while using my cane. They offer no lift support to the foot. I can recommend if you have -very mild- foot weakness or ankle weakness they may work out for you, but if you have SEVERE foot drop like myself, these will do NO good at all. I am going to be returning both unfortunately . ... show more
