This lock is great. It has lots of features and everything works well. Installation was simple. A template for hole is provided for hole cutouts if you are installing it on a new door. I bought it for my bedroom door, and the main requirement was that it have a good fingerprint reader, so that I could get in quickly without needing a key or to punch in a code. The reader works very well and very fast, I'd say less than half a second to open. One thing I love about it is that the reader is angled at roughly a 45 degree angle, which makes putting a finger on it (I typically use my thumb) more comfortable than most fingerprint locks, which have vertical fingerprint readers. That may seem like a little thing, but it just feels like a more natural and ergonomic position. You can set up numerical codes (I think between 4 and 10 digits), and they can be permanent, one time use, or time-based. So, for example, you can set up a code that works from 4pm on Friday until noon on Sunday, so it's perfect for an AirBnB, houseguest, maid, etc. The code entry also worked flawlessly. Three keycards are included. You just put the keycard up against the keypad and the lock opens instantly. Honestly, I don't really foresee using them - as great as they work, I'll just use the fingerprint reader and avoid having to take anything out of my pocket. The backup keys provided in case of power failure (i.e., dead batteries) work fine. One minor nitpick is that the keyhole is hidden behind the face of the front handle, accessed by pushing on one end of the handle. It works fine, but my question is, will I remember 5 years from now (or whenever) how to access the keyhole? The TTLock app is really good too. That was a bit surprising to me, since a lot of apps for these kinds of things seem like afterthoughts. This one is intuitive and easy to use. If you have the gateway for the lock (purchased separately), it connects to the internet though your WiFi, and then you can even open the lock remotely. That's a feature I'm not planning to purchase, but I can see how it could come in handy for some people. There are a couple of features that I had not read about that I like. One is that the time that the door stays unlocked after being opened is very customizable (default is 5 seconds) through the app. Another is that you can set a daily period of time during which the door will stay unlocked, and then lock automatically. So, for example, you could leave it unlocked at night so that if the kids get scared, they can come in without them having to knock and you having to go open the door. The 4 AA batteries are easily installed. You need to remove one screw to access the batteries. A couple of minor niggles: I got the lock in aged bronze, which looks great, but the latch bolt and strike plate are both silver - would be nice if they were also aged bronze to match. Also, one thing I could do without is the voice saying "unlocked" when the door is unlocked and "locked" when it automatically locks again. You can control the volume of the voice by a setting in the app, but can't turn it off entirely. I think it's unnecessary, as there is a light that briefly turns green when the lock unlocks, and you can hear the it unlock and lock, so to me the voice confirmation isn't needed. But overall, this is as perfect an electronic lock as I've found. I can't vouch for its durability, since I've only recently installed it, but I'm very happy with this purchase, and I'm thinking about buying one for my garage. ... show more

This lock exceeds my expectations. It's very cool to open up the front door with your finger print. However, there is a way to access with a key and or a code and key fob. UPDATE: While I could not initially find a way to contact customer service when my lock stopped working during the warranty period, once I left the review below I was contacted very quickly. Additionally, the seller immediately offered to refund my purchase price. Since I only ordered the one, I can't say if mine was a one-off defect, but the seller made it right in any case. The locked worked great for me up until the day it stopped working altogether. I would give this seller another chance based on how they handled the issue. Original review: Lock abruptly stopped working (shows green for “unlocked” but does not engage latch and allow entry) after just more than 90 days. Despite “1 year warranty”, no known way to get an answer of any kind from seller. ... show more

The card reader works not to bad that's what I rely on. The fingerprint scanner works only once in the blue moon. Not impressed. One thing though about customer service they really do try to help u out anyway they can. Thanks.

Bought this to replace another biometric door handle that broke after 1 year of use. So far I’ve had this one in place for several months. My only concerns/complaints with this model is there no app to manage anything. Adding users and managing access can only be done on the unit itself. Also, there is a switch on the interior side to change between Private and Public modes. When the unit is in Private mode only admins can open the door. This switch is out in the open and very easy to bump without knowing it was enabled. On more than one occasion our son has been locked out of the house because someone brushed their hand across that switch while closing the door. Not an ideal design in my mind but not a total dealbreaker. ... show more
