This is exactly what I have been looking for for years to provide shade for my west facing deck which is too hot in the afternoon to dwell on. I've tried easy ups, umbrellas, you name it and although I just completed construction of this I am enjoying sitting on the deck in a moderate rain with the slats down and no leaks. I anticipate it will be more effective in the sun than previous solutions. I built the major pieces in my garage in the shade during the "heat dome" her in New Hampshire and carried them to the deck for erecting. I hired three guys for an hour to erect the frame, and kept one guy to finish with the slats and shutter mechanism, which took another 1.5 hours. I screwed two angle irons into the header where the unit is mounted to the wall and where that beam can rest while being bolted to the header. This is shown in the second photo. They were left in place and are not noticable. Moving the unit horizontally will be easier if needed in the future also with these. All pieces were clearly labeled so mistakes are the builder's fault. Building steps were accurately documented. There were very few extra hardware pieces so be careful to not lose any. Screws were taped on a piece of cardboard so I gathered them into old talenti ice cream jars, one type to a jar. There were very few defects. I had one hole with crossed threads which I used a tap to clean up, and three stripped threads in a connector piece, which had 18 screws already so I ignored them. I did not install the fixed slat closest to the wall because the plastic piece it attached to interfered with the lifting link. But there was an eve protecting that end anyway. I used a power drill for most screws which sped up progress considerably. For the slats it really takes at least two and preferably three people, though one could do it if needed. We had one person on each side of the slats on ladders and another handing up the slats. Each slat was fastened to the movable flipped by one screw on each end. In all I'm very happy with this Pergola and highly recommend it, but of course time will tell if it survives the sometime strong winds we get. The materials I have no worries about being aluminum and stainless steel, except for the beam connectors which are not exposed to the weather. Oh, and the slat mounting rotators which are hard plastic and subject to heat but not exposed to sunlight except when full open and with the sun low. In the winter we plan to leave the slats vertical so as to not accumulate snow loads, since the instructions specifically say it won't take heavy snows.

For the price it was a good buy. Sturdy and well engineered. However, it took me a year and a half to get it up. Primary issue was it came with quite a few dents. The seller worked with us so that was appreciated. However, the dents bothered me and subsequently I filled them in and repainted certain sections which was a challenge. It wasn’t the easiest to assembly but my wife and I were able to attach it to the house ourselves—would recommend more people to help. I will say, even though it took an excessive length of time to get it right, which is sort of par for the course for me, it was worth it and I am truly impressed. It will provide a shady area and looks very nice. Hopefully it holds up. The majority of the hardware appears stainless which was a pleasant surprise.

Awesome gazebo. The installation took a while of course, but once it was done, it looked great and keeps us shaded from the sun and dry from the rain. Keep in mind that this is a wall mount, meaning that you'll need to have space for the two legs, and you'll need the wall to be in good stable condition to drill/mount onto. For the price, it is pretty great, as these kinds of installations as usually 2k+ in costs.

Very well made. Other than a few small dents caused during shipping, it's beautiful. Chose the white and very happy I did, it looks great. Sturdy, plenty of extra screws and decent instructions. Took about 8 hours to assemble and erect. Did 90 percent of the assembly myself and had to have the assistance of 3 others for final erection and completion of velour installation. That took about 3 more hours.

I love this pergola. It's exactly what I needed for my West facing deck. It's advertised as black, but it's more of a charcoal gray, which fit my color scheme perfectly. It's a bit tedious to put together because there's close to 300 screws and bolts, but overall it's very well designed and fit together beautifully. Most of the work can be done with one person, but you should have the suggested four people to attach it to the wall.
