  • Easy to install
Size: 16 FT Color: Black
I recently purchased the Bowsen Garage Door heavy-duty rubber weather strip, and I couldn't be more delighted with the results. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about the installation process, especially after watching several YouTube videos that depicted it as a challenging task. These videos all demonstrated the weather stripping being fed through one end of the aluminum strip with the help of a second person, which seemed like quite the ordeal. Given that I'm eighty years old and my wife isn't much younger, I wasn't looking forward to this job. However, my concerns quickly dissipated when I inspected the product. I noticed that there were two 'T' grooves, and there was a backward swirl that suggested an alternative and easier method for installation. Armed with a little WD-40, I decided to insert the rubber strip from the side rather than the end, and the results were remarkable. I was able to install the entire 15-foot length of weather stripping with minimal effort in just ten minutes, all by myself. What's fascinating about the design of the 'T' groove is that inserting the rubber strip is effortless, but removing it is a challenge, ensuring a secure and durable seal. To install it, all you need to do is place one 'T' on one side of the strip and slide your thumb over the edge, occasionally using a screwdriver blade to pinch it in place. Once you've completed one side, simply trim off any excess length and repeat the process with the other 'T' groove. It's a straightforward process that turns what could have been a difficult task into a breeze. I can't express how relieved I am that this potentially daunting project turned out to be so easy with the Bowsen Garage Door heavy-duty rubber weather strip. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to weatherproof their garage door. It's not only effective but also remarkably user-friendly, even for those of us who might not have the same physical prowess we once did. Thank you, Bowsen, for making a product that makes our lives easier and our garage doors more weather-resistant! ... show more

  • Perfect replacement seal and track
Size: 16 FT Color: Black
So I don't usually leave reviews mainly because I'm lazy but after installing this I had to. So for starters, I don't know garage doors, but I consider myself relatively handy. Projects that are designed to take an hour usually take me an hour and a half or more either due to me trying to cut corners, or just blatantly doing something wrong and having to correct it. I almost DIDN'T purchase this product or any product because most reviews of this product and similar products state how difficult it is. The instructions clearly state its easier with 2 people and while it might be, i didn't have that ability to tie up my wife while she was with the kids so i tooo it on solo. We have a 16ft metal/aluminum maybe garage door that had a sort of metal track attached to the bottom of the door and a single line down the middle where the previous seal was inserted. The previous seal was so old and crusty that I had to cut it off with a knife and found no way to remove the metal bottom plate that was sort of inserted/part of the garage door. I opened the door part way so it was about at eye level or chest level then started working. I think the instructions said to cut power to your door and maybe thats safe, but here is an example of me cutting corners. Once I cut off the old seal, I used painters tape to tape up the track to the bottom of the door(as I saw someone do in some images on these reviews). Once the track was taped up, the last piece had to be cut. I couldn't find my hand saw so I opted for using a oscillating saw which cut through the track with ease with the proper blade installed. Once that piece was cut I taped it up like the rest and grabbed my drill. As everyone has stated, you HAVE TO drill pilot holes, unless maybe the door you have is wood. I tried to drill the screw directly through the metal/alluminum/ whatever standard garage door is, and it didn't work. Drilling the pilot holes was kindof a pain and this could have been my drill bits, but metal on metal the bit slides around, and obviously you don't want your hole bigger than the screw, so my holes were never perfectly center, but it all worked out. After trying to drill the pilot holes while having the track taped up I realized that the track was moving, so after drilling the first hole I used some quick grip bar clamps to clamp the track to the door. Then resumed drilling all the pilot holes. I focused on one track at a time, so after the pilot holes were done on the first track I would screw them into place, then move to the next track which worked well. Once the track was up I was concerned about getting the rubber seal in since most people say it's hard. (Also deterred me from almost not buying this) the instructions state what to do, and to use a screwdriver to sort of pop it in place. I used some silicone garage door lubricant down the whole track, one at a time. Popping the seal in using the screw driver method in their instructions was such a breeze, this is what drove me to write my review. Use lubricant, use a screwdriver and you'll have the seal up in minutes. I used a ladder to be my "2nd person " and draped the seal over the ladder as i moved down from one end to the other. Without the ladder or a 2nd person holding the seal up, im sure it wouldve been harder. Once one side was in place, I lubed the other track and followed the same routine. Once it was in place I knew the hard part had started. Closing the door brought it down, but it detected the new seal and probably assumed it was a foot(safety sensors) so the door wouldn't close. I then had to adjust the down and up force on the garage door to get the door to properly close (I used YouTube for help because again, I don't know garage doors). Once the door was closed, I noticed the chain was now hanging lower, so I had to return to YouTube to figure out what to do. There's a pin to adjust with some wrenches and that eventually fixed that. Overall I am pleased, it took me about 2 hours between installation, adjusting the actual garage, and adjusting the chain. Oh also, it has these 2 side plugs to put in the little rubber round thing in the middle. I had to remove these plugs because with them, I couldn't get the door to close. It kept tripping the sensor and I guess thinking something was under the door. All in all, I'm very satisfied to finally have a sealed garage door after 8 months of just dealing with a broken seal and avoiding this and other products because of reviews. ... show more

  • THE Garage Door Seal Replacement
Size: 16 FT Color: Black
I should have bought this one first. I tried just a replacement rubber seal but it would not slide into the existing T rails on the door. This kit was delivered quickly and went on smooth as butter. My wife and I did it in about an hour, and without a single argument! The modified T rail allows the seal to be shoved in easily. If you align it right, the rubber almost WANTS to slide into the rail. My only disappointment was that the rail is in multiple pieces and i really wanted to see how a 16 ft long aluminum rail would be delivered, but the smaller sections are actually easier to work with than a long piece and worked without any trouble. Stop looking, buy this kit. ... show more

  • Nice Replacement for single P track Door Seal
Size: 16 FT Color: Black
5 Stars. I have a 20 year old garage door installed by Overhead Garage door company. The current door has a "P" weather seal at the bottom of which no one sells the correct one, not even the company who installed it years ago. I was willing to pay $500 to have it replaced, no one would help. Saw this gem, bought it, took around 1.5 hours to install by myself. Plenty of youtube videos on how to do it. Best $60 spent, saved me a load of money. Dont hesitate, do it! I have a 16 ft door. Be sure to measure twice and cut once. ... show more
