    • Grandfather clock was missing finial.
I'm finally getting around to giving this grandfather clock a rating. I've had it for a while now and it works great. Everything is five star except one important thing that brings it down to a one star. When opening the box and following the directions to assembly the finial was missing. If the directions say that certain parts are contained in the packaging they should all be there. The finial was not. One can imagine how big the box was and how inconvenient it would be to return to the seller. Suffice it to say I had to suck it up and move on. That is the only negative thing to be said. The clock is great. It looks good. It runs good. It would look even better if it had the finial that was supposed to be provided 😉 ... show more

Easy to assemble, set time, and set tune/hourly strike. But unfortunately the chimes are too weak and cheap of a sound quality. I've got a mantle clock from Bulova for slightly less with a much for powerful and richer chime. But this clock (except the chime which I hate the sound having an ear for quality) has been a wonderful time keeper that's very eye catching giving its appearances.     • Is the chimes loud enough for you?
The product was packed and looks fantastic! It was very easy to put together. However the vo!ume knob on fhe speaker did'nt work properly. I didn't hear any sound until the volume was three-quarters the way up. And then it sounded weak. I checked the batteries on a battery tester and they were strong. I have recently replaced a movement in another grandfather clock and that movement had many more options and was much louder than this one. I have rebought that movement and am going to install it into this clock. Search AMAZON for grandfather clock movements and make your choice if dissatisfied. ... show more

I received this clock we like. The only thing was the top center piece was missing. I have emailed 6 times and although Amazon has responded each time promptly the seller has never once responded. All I asked for was the missing piece. Everyone makes mistakes. Being able to correct those mistakes is what separates winners and losers. I cannot recommend since I now know if anything is wrong it will not be corrected. That is too bad because the actual product is very pretty. Except the missing part. The clock was packaged well and arrived early. It had a few scratches on the pendulum, I was not happy about that and also was very cheaply made. The rest of the clock was real wood and had a very nice appearance. I put the clock together by myself with no problems. We will see how well it works over time. Overall, very nice clock for the money. Only negative, it is made in China...and not stated in the ad or I would have looked for another American made product to buy. Also, is it really necessary to put full length tape across the glass? It took me 2 days to get the tape residue off of the glass. ... show more
