  • This shock collar has really helped train my dog.
Color: Orange
I've had this shock collar for around two weeks now and have found it to be great. I charged the collar and remote the day I received it and it still has 3/4 charge, and I have used it quite a lot. The unit looks and feels well made and it says that it is waterproof, which is good because my Golden Retriever likes to get in our pond. It has an adjustable noise, vibration and shock mode, and I rarely have to use the shock mode, all I usually have to do is pick up the unit to make her behave. She is a nice dog but is very hyper and has been hard to train. This unit has really helped. ... show more

  • Durable and Effective
Color: Orange
I’ve had this for 2 months now, and I got it since my rescue dog barks at strangers and has lunged at children. I appreciate that it’s relatively simple to use and very customizable. I’ve only really had to use the beep option, and rarely the vibrate. I used the shock once and it scared my dog pretty badly, and she really only needs the first 2 options. It’s significantly helped reduce her barking at strangers and helps correct negative behaviors very quickly (when used as the behavior is occurring or right after). I do find that the collar loosens while she’s running around. It is very durable and I’ve only charged it once since having it, so somehow my battery has lasted almost 2 months! I was turning it on and off for the first couple weeks, but stopped and just left it on after that. I wish it came with a charger however. ... show more

  • Amazing, reliable recall when used appropriately. 1000% recommended.
Color: Orange
Here’s the revised version with the saltwater/ocean durability note added: I was originally hesitant to buy an e-collar because I thought of it as a “shock collar” and worried it might be inhumane. After reading reviews and doing more research, I better understood that it can be used as a communication and recall training tool when paired with positive reinforcement. My dog is a little over one year old, a Greyhound/Doberman mix, and he loves running in a shallow saltwater low-tide beach area where other dogs play off leash. At first I used a long leash, but it was impractical, so I became determined to improve his recall. I started by having him wear the collar around the house without using correction. I would beep it, call his name, and reward him with his favorite high-value treat, shredded boiled chicken, every single time he came back. The beeping stops after holding the button for a few seconds. It’s crucial to keep pushing and holding the button repeatedly every few seconds so the beeping is continuous until his comes all the way back. Once he understood that, I started using only the beep (no vocal command) and rewarding him 100% of the time. Then we practiced in the yard, then at the dog park with more distractions. Most of the training was positive reinforcement. The beep became his cue that something great was waiting for him. After about a week or two, he occasionally ignored the beep in higher-excitement situations, so I introduced vibration at the lowest setting and slowly increased it only until I saw a response. The vibration helped snap him out of whatever he was focused on, then I followed with the beep, recall, and reward. I have only used the shock feature a few times, and only at the lowest effective setting. My dog is sensitive, so I started extremely low and only needed level 3 or 4 out of 99. I used it only for serious situations, like fixating aggressively on a cat through a fence, paired with a firm “no,” then immediately followed by recall and reward. Now, if I say “no” around a cat or wildlife, he usually stops and comes back without needing correction. After a few weeks of consistent training, I was able to bring him to the beach off leash with reliable recall. We have gone many times now, and he comes back from hundreds of feet away when he hears the beep. Most of the time I do not need vibration at all, and I almost never need correction. I still always carry high-value treats and reward him well. The collar has also held up well in saltwater so far. My dog fully submerges it in the ocean, rolls in the sand, and plays hard. I always make sure the charging port plug is fully closed before we go in the water. After the beach, I rinse it thoroughly with fresh water, then rinse it again when we get home and hang it outside to dry in the sun. The speaker for the beep can get clogged with sand and water, so sometimes I cannot hear it clearly when he is close by, but it still seems loud enough on his neck because he has no issue responding to it. This collar has been life-changing for my dog’s freedom, safety, and our communication. It gave me a way to reliably recall him while still letting him enjoy running and playing. Used responsibly, patiently, and with positive reinforcement, this is an incredible tool and absolutely worth the money. Never use the device when you’re frustrated. The key is positive reinforcement with small, low power vibrations or shock corrections. As additional assurance, I pair this ecollar with the Tractiv GPS Tracker (which is also waterproof) to be able to confidently find him if he ever does run away. But his recall is so good I think that’s highly unlikely. ... show more

  • Effective Training Collar, but it has some issues.
Color: Black
I've used this for a few weeks now and there are things I like and don't like about this dog collar. I'm using this collar as a training tool for my dogs behavior problems. So he tends to wear it most of the day and I've found it is very effective to not only curbing his barking, but also keeping him off tables and out of things he shouldn't be in. Now in saying this I've primarily used the sound and the vibrations settings and when training him I have made a routine that when I say no, he gets a sound. If he continues I tell him no again and use the vibration. That usually works for him. I've only ever used shock once on him and that was when he was outside barking at something and just absolutely not listening to me. And only after I used both the sound and vibration multiple times. I used the shock on level 2 and that got his attention to stop barking. I also have to say that I am impressed with the battery life on this thing. After a few weeks of using it I've only had to charge it once. I also feel like the collar itself is well made. And not to heavy for my 20 pound dog. I find the button are easy to use, but I don't like that you can't switch between modes without triggering it unless you press the level nob multiple times. However, that nob is easily pressed or turned. So you do have to keep an eye on what level your aiming for. Also I think it's crazy that the shock goes all the way to 99. I feel like that is an unnecessary and potentially dangerous level to shock your dog. It just doesn't make any sense, especially when both the sound and the vibration options have much lower level settings. So I would love to hear the manufacturer's reason behind this. Out of curiosity. And lastly this is strictly a personal preference, but I wish there was a clip or something on the back of the remote that I could attach it to myself. I feel in training a dog not to do something in order for this collar to be effective you need to press whatever button immediately and say no to have your dog understandand the behavior they need to stop. But there has been a few instances where negative behavior has happened and I had the remote sitting somewhere that by the time I got it the situation that would have needed it already passed. So that's just my personal gripe about it. But overall this is an amazingly effective training tool that I would recommend. ... show more

  • Very effective
Color: Orange
We have a French Bulldog that has a mind of his own. We live in a rural setting surrounded by large trees and bushes. Our dog has developed a love of following deer sent and various other distractions. When he is in that frame of mind he totally tunes you out and his objective is all that matters. He would disappear and then the search was on to try and locate him and get him back into the house. I purchased the training collar as a last resort in an effort to get him to listen and respond to my commands. When the device arrived the instructions were very simple to understand and follow. I adjusted all of the settings to be about mid range. I put the collar on him and we went outside for a potty. It did not take long for him to follow his normal routine and began to trot of away from the house. I whistled and called his name and no response as was normal. I whistled again and pressed the first alarm button on the hand held device. There was no visible response. I whistled again and pressed the second alarm for the vibration on the hand held device. Again there was no visible response. I whistled a third time and then pressed the third button on the hand held device for shock. This time his response was immediate. He jumped straight in the air as if he had shot, but still did not respond to my calling him. I whistled again and pressed the shock button again and immediately got the same jump in the air reaction. This time when I whistled he turned and looked at me and ran back to me immediately. Later that evening I took him out again for his evening potty break. He began to wonder off as was expected. I whistled and no response. I pressed the first button on the hand held device. I noticed a reaction from him, but he kept going. I whistled again and pressed the second button on the hand held device for vibration. This time he immediately stopped and ran back to the house. Even though we are early in the training process, I can see that this training collar is going to be effective and very beneficial. One note, this is not a device to hurt or punish the dog, but when used correctly, it is a very useful and effective way to train a non response dog. After owning this for a month, I want to add to this review. I really should have ordered this sooner. Since the initial time of using the actual shock feature, I have never had to shock again. I have been able to work with our French Bulldog ( who is very opinionated by the way) and now when I give him a little whistle, he comes running back to me. I started by whistling then pressing the first button on the hand held unit. He began to associate the whistle with something more aggressive was coming next. He began to just come back after the initial whistle. I still put the collar on every time he goes outside whether I am with him or not. Sometimes in the morning when it is dark, he goes outside alone to perform his morning constitutional. So far, if he does not return in an expected amount of time, I open the door and whistle and he runs to the door This purchase is probably one of the best things I have ever done to eliminate the frustration of a hard headed, over excited, extremely enthusiastic and very fun loving dog. Again I want to emphasize, this is not a tool to cause harm in any way to your dog, it is strictly for training purposes only. If used correctly, both you and your dog will be much happier. ... show more

  • Great product and price
Color: Orange
Great product for keeping your dog alert and safe while being leash free. It has multiple setting and is really easy to use and set up. It works great for my dog and keeps her from running where she shouldn't.

  • Great collar and remote combo until after the warranty is up, then the battery life tanks
Color: Orange
It works really well until it doesn't. The collar had a long battery life for a little longer than a year, so it's just lasting until after the time the warranty is up. How nice! Now it's only lasting for two days before needing to be charged again, which since I turn it off each night and he only wears it for about 12ish hours, the charge is now only lasting 24-30ish hours. Not a bad price for what you get though. ... show more

  • So far so good - my honest opinion.
Color: Black
It’s a quality product, easy to set up and use. My fur baby does quiet down once I administer a shock which I absolutely hate doing because he really shows pain, but at night during his bed time, he likes to whine, bark and cry a lot and it goes on for hours hence my reasoning for this purchase. So, I ONLY use the collar at night. I did however, shock myself on accident when trying to set this up so please be careful. It doesn’t hurt or anything but it will surprise the heck out of you that’s for sure. But I only shocked my hand and not my throat as you would once you put it on your fur baby. So, I’m not sure of the effects it has on a human neck, if you’re into that. Lol. All and all, still do not try it because it will make you want to return it if you love your fur baby, because it almost made me want too. I digress. NOW, if he starts acting up at bedtime or in the middle of the night, I’ll strap this bad boy on him so darn quick explaining to him that mommy will use it but doesn’t want to. He will stay calm for a few hours, then he’ll get roused up and I’ll have to give him a couple of warning beeps (the first button with five vertical lines). He will calm down for a few seconds - meaning the beeping does not work just startles him. Then if he continues whining, crying, and barking - which he always does, I’ll administer the buzzer (the second button with two vertical wavy lines). This is not as effective as I thought it would be, even on the highest setting, my dog is not effected by the buzzer at all. He never reacts alarmed by the sensation or sound like he does the beeper and the shock. So, he barks right through the buzz no matter how many I administer. And I administer a lot of buzz just so I won’t have to administer a shock. Most likely, he’ll work his way up to an administrative shock due to his uncontrollably and inconsolable whining and carrying on. Although, I don’t like using it, I’ll administer a quick shock (the third button with the lightening bolt icon). He’s usually quiet after that for the remainder of the night. So, if you’re looking for something that’ll help you and your fur baby sleep at night AND in silence, this is a great product. It helps my house sleep at night minus the barking and whimpering for my fur baby. I haven’t used it in public just yet because once he sees another fur baby, his tiny self turns into a big dog, literally, and I’m fighting with him to keep quiet or to quit trying to charge the other pets. He’s a toy poodle btw and thinks he’s King Corso. So, it’s not a complete challenge but I hope it works when we’re in public. I’ll test it out and redo my review. But so far, it works good. ... show more
