Like many other reviewers if it holds up it will be a phenomenal buy. Was easy to install and the newer version seems to have less assembly steps than the video. Love that I can throw it up on my cross bars without any help although feels a little heavier than 22 pounds. They also give you two different lengths of mounting screws which was nice. Everything packaged very well. So far don’t notice any significant noise while driving. Definitely one of the best baskets I’ve owned especially for the price

Two comments regarding my recent purchase. 1- The hold down brackets and bolts do not seem to be very strong. I keep having to tighten the nuts. if you tighten too much you bend the plate. the basket itself seems fine, it's the mounting hardware that seems cheap. 2- currently there is no way to lock the basket to the crossbar to prevent theft. UPDATE- was told that if I use 6M or 8M T-bolts on the crossbar the mounting is much cleaner. you can also buy locking nuts for the bolts. I have done 2 road trips now and have not experienced any significant wind noise. I have not tried it yet with a cargo bag.

Overall seems to be a quality product. There were definitely some improvements that made assembly easier. Fit and finish were excellent. I had no issues with lining up any of the bolts and all were easily started by hand. The bolts all screwed into sometime of metal or aluminum. I'm not going to recommend using any type of Loctite if you ever want to disassemble the basket. Having the mounting plates pre installed was a plus and you simply loosen them to adjust. One complaint that many had was that the mounting bolts were too long, but they now provide two different lengths. I was able to use the shorter ones but it was close. I installed the basket on a 2020 Subaru Outback factory rack with the built in cross bars. The cross bars are pretty low and that definitely made the installation more difficult. For me this was somewhat disappointing as I was hoping to be able to remove the basket easily, when I don't really need it. Thats not going to happen. There was no noise at freeway speeds when unloaded which is a real plus. The plastic pieces are pretty light duty so you will want to follow the recommended weight capacity and when driving loaded not exceed the 68 mph speed recommendation. Really like the new black color, the plastic and aluminum are a very close match. I will be making use of the basket all summer so will see how in holds up.

This was annoying to install. . OK...I was so frustrated when the washers kept falling off, so I put scotch tape around them ( I added lock washers ) After that, standing on a ladder to add the thumb screws, the tape kept the washers in place on the bolt threads. Seems to be fine at hi-way speeds and there is no wind noise.
