  • Sounds great! Looks great! Tons of inputs!
Style: 8 Inch
Love the Boss Audio system with the adjustable screen. Bought one for me and one for my wife and will be buying a third soon. They are for our 2014/2015 Fiat 500es. These fit great. One word of advice. If you are using a Metra SWC module, program the module with the settings in the picture. Once you follow their procedure, it works great! Wireless CarPlay is excellent! Nice and clear. And built in theft deterrent as you can disconnect the screen and hide it or take it with you. ... show more

  • Easy Peasy Install, Sounds and Looks Great!
Style: 9 inch
I haven’t installed a car stereo in decades. Maybe a quarter century, even! Ended up being pretty simple. The 2009 Tahoe had an aftermarket stereo installed about 11 years ago. At the time, it was an Alpine 1U unit and the whole thing installed was $700+. Over time, the unit remained fine but technology had moved on. I really wanted to be able to connect my phone via BT and stream music. The Alpine, having no Bluetooth, meant an after-aftermarket Bluetooth dongle jacked into the Alpine’s rear-panel USB port. Sadly, the setup never worked exceedingly well, forcing me to hard-reboot the Alpine regularly to get BT running. What a pain. Time to stop with the hard reboots! 😹 I check out things online, want a screen, but not take up more than the 1U space reserved. This unit fit the bill just fine - ordered it with the 9” display. The original aftermarket receiver install used some PAC modules to interface the receiver with the steering wheel controls and other truck features. Hoped that changing the receiver wasn’t going to also force me to buy all new interface modules. The hardest thing was identifying the existing wire colors, making sure that this unit had the same setup, and then cutting out the old aftermarket harness and splicing in the new radio’s harness. Took maybe 45 min. Adjusted the PAC SWC-1 for Boss, and bam! it all worked fine. Great sound quality, excellent price, and a huge display. Definitely would recommend!!! ... show more

  • Good Luck
Style: 7 Inch
Radio randomly and frequently turns off. I dont have any amps nor do I play it loud. It was well grounded and all wiring connected properly. If you buy this make sure everything is well taken care of including the box and all materials because you may be sending it back like I did. Also on the BOSS website this radio is no longer available when I started searching for possible solutions. I was very disappointed because it has such great features. ... show more

  • Easy to install, couple glitches but works decent.
Style: 7 Inch
Purchased this for my dump truck semi, ordered a radio harness for the truck and only took about 15 mins to attach to the radio harness and maybe another 20 to install. I’ve been using it for a week so far and it works pretty good. The microphone works well enough to use the hands free with the windows up while driving my rig which is very loud. Some people have said it sounds like the microphone is far away from me or doesn’t cut out the background noise well, but it works good enough for the majority of my many phone calls while working. The display is large enough to show my gps directions and music streaming information. It was very easy to connect my iPhone too and automatically connects. That being said there are a few glitches already. It will randomly disconnect from my phone and won’t let me reconnect for a few minutes, but it usually reconnects fairly quick. While using CarPlay it will randomly switch back to the source selection screen, and after pressing the CarPlay button will keep switching back after a minute or two, but I figured out pressing the home button on the bottom of the radio will bring me back into CarPlay and usually stop it from going back to the source screen. Also the av input button is right next to the volume dial and way to easy to accidentally graze while adjusting the volume which is a little annoying. It also doesn’t have radio station memory buttons while using the radio tuner, which is dumb. You can favorite a station and it has buttons for switching radio frequency or switching between favorited stations. So far it’s held up on rough bumpy roads and everything works decent enough. The audio quality is better than the factory radio to the point I need to upgrade the speakers in the truck. As long as it holds up working like it is now I’d say it’s a good purchase. ... show more

  • Great update for older vehicle, good value
Style: 9 inch
I installed this radio in my 2004 Chevrolet Colorado. I chose this unit because it would enable me to use my mobile phone hands free, and because it would enable me use map feature for navigation. It also enabled me to update the truck with a back up camera to help in tight spaces. I chose this unit because the swivel mounted screen enables me to tilt the screen for better visibility from the driver's seat. I enjoy the auto darkening of the screen for night operations, the radio functions quite well also. Great value for the amount I paid. I have had it in my truck for about a year now. I would say that the installation is best done by someone with soldering skills and the ability to locate and read a vehicle wiring diagram, so I would not recommend for beginners. ... show more

  • Fantastic!!!!
Style: 9 inch
This thing is the bees knees. Quick start up and the screen quality is fantastic. There is a lot of room for adjustment depending on your vehicle. Super easy install with the included cage. The CarPlay connects faster to my iPhone than my brand new Ram 1500’s stereo did. I love it

  • Only 3 stars because of brightness controls
Style: 8 Inch
I’ve been running the Boss Audio BCPA8 head unit for a bit now, and overall I’m very happy with it—especially considering the feature set and price. The standout feature for me is wireless CarPlay, which has worked flawlessly. It connects quickly, stays connected, and makes daily driving far more convenient without needing to plug in my phone every time I get in the car. That said, I was never able to get wired CarPlay working. I tried multiple cables and settings, but no matter what I did, it simply wouldn’t connect in wired mode. Fortunately, since the wireless connection is so solid, this hasn’t been a deal-breaker for me—but it’s worth noting. The screen is another mixed bag. The display itself is clear and responsive, but there is absolutely no brightness adjustability. I tried every menu and setting combination possible, and nothing changes the screen brightness. During the day it’s fine, but at night it can be brighter than ideal, and I wish Boss had included even basic dimming controls. Where this unit really shines is audio performance. The sound quality is excellent, and the built-in EQ genuinely surprised me. It’s easily on par with much higher-end head units I’ve owned in the past. Once dialed in, it delivers clean highs, solid mids, and punchy lows without distortion, even at higher volumes. There is some lag when using wireless CarPlay—roughly 1 to 1.5 seconds behind any video playback. For audio, navigation, and general use it’s not an issue at all. Since watching video isn’t the point while driving anyway, this delay is understandable and not something that impacts real-world use. All things considered, the Boss Audio BCPA8 offers great sound, reliable wireless CarPlay, and strong overall value, with a few quirks you’ll want to be aware of. ... show more
