After purchasing a BOSS Apple CarPlay unit for one of my other cars and really liking it, I decided to purchase another to upgrade my Jeep but I wanted a volume knob. I can’t be pleased more with this unit. It’s been installed and used for the last 8 months and has functioned flawlessly. Bluetooth connects instantly and with the included microphone, people can hear me clearly. It is wired CarPlay, but it has not failed to connect yet, can’t be said about my factory radio in my 22 model vehicle. I didn’t connect the included backup cam on this install, but on my other BOSS units the camera works great. Great value radio that sounds great and performs like a radio that costs 2 times as much. I have 4 BOSS units now and will continue to use their products as I need more.

I'm trying to figure out why the backup camera it's not working in my car. Because that means that I have no reverse flights or backup lights, so I don't know what to do

I had a Boss system before which was working great. Keeping that in mind, I ordered this product. The package and the produce looked amazing. I used a third party installer (Of course professional technician) and spent more than the product cost to install. As per the manual, shifting to reverse will trigger the backup camera. But the description of the wire in the manual not matched with the actual product. So temporarily left the backup camera to switch manually. Then contacted the seller. I got as response to try a different wire. Again I spent for re-connecting the wire which is a blunt mistake I did. While doing so, it got short circuited and the camera gone. Not working at all. Now, I need to buy another system and pay for another round of installation. Meanwhile, I contacted Boss customer service. They are happily ready to replace. But I need to pay $199 upfront or I need to send my defective product and they will send a new one. I chose the 2nd option. But my car will not be operatable until I get a new device. Tragic part is, I need to pay for someone again to uninstall the device and once I get the new one, I need to pay for installing again. Hopefully the new device works..!! Help me God..!!

Installed this in my dads Silverado. Install was easy. Once installed, the unit works and sounds great. Touch screen is responsive and bright, it has an actual volume knob. Included backup camera works very well, triggers when in reverse or when I activate it via the touch screen. Has connections for a front camera if needed. A few notes. The Rear USB port is what your phone needs to be plugged into for carplay. I purchased a USB extension cable and mounted a port in the dash. The cable for the backup camera is not long enough for an extended cab pickup, I purchased a backup camera extension cable, and additional power wire to hook it all up. Unit has been up and running for over a month at this point, zero issues.

Got this to replace a stock radio in a 2012Chevy Impala, super easy install, to include the rear camera. Just follow the directions and do not over think it. If you need help look up some Youtube videos.

I installed this headunit a few weeks ago. For the price, it is about as you would expect. Better than the cheap chinese no name units but has flaws. Has pretty decent wattage output, drives my aftermarket speakers better than the OEM unit. Biggest complaints: 1) CarPlay is VERY spotty. Thought it might be my car's built in USB having connection issues -- tried to plug it into the front and that port doesn't work for CarPlay (???). I've resorted to using the built in bluetooth unless I need navigation then I will fight with it for 5 minutes, do a raindance, etc. Connects maybe 4/10 times. 2) The built in amplifier is decent but not great. I have noticed some distortion in higher frequencies. It's annoying enough that I will probably add a 4 channel amplifier for the speakers instead. 3) Cannot change the illumination color TL;DR Buy an ATOTO and 4 channel amplifier.

The head unit works great, smooth function, clean sound, gets pretty dang loud. One note, sometimes when I plug my phone in the screen goes black, but all I have to do is hit home and then CarPlay, and it’s good so not a biggie. Be careful wiring the camera, I accidentally fried mine by arcing it off a constant for a second. But I got a cheap replacement and it has no problem working off that one.
