After purchasing a BOSS Apple CarPlay unit for one of my other cars and really liking it, I decided to purchase another to upgrade my Jeep but I wanted a volume knob. I can’t be pleased more with this unit. It’s been installed and used for the last 8 months and has functioned flawlessly. Bluetooth connects instantly and with the included microphone, people can hear me clearly. It is wired CarPlay, but it has not failed to connect yet, can’t be said about my factory radio in my 22 model vehicle. I didn’t connect the included backup cam on this install, but on my other BOSS units the camera works great. Great value radio that sounds great and performs like a radio that costs 2 times as much.     • Good price for a name brand CarPlay head unit
I previously had a generic Chinese CarPlay head unit and it quite literally blew up my wire harness after working fine for a week. Because of this, I will never buy one of the knock off ones again, especially considering how cheap and good this unit is. It sounds great, it’s simple, and it does what it’s supposed to do - function properly with Apple CarPlay. That’s all I want my head unit to do. One gripe that I have is that the external microphone might not work. I have yet to call Boss to troubleshoot this, but it does not seem to be working. [UPDATE] I got this mic working. Great Stereo system. Needed to purchase wire harness separately. But other than that it sounds great and the touch screen works well. No problems connecting to my phone.

Nice budget unit. AppleCarplay works flawlessly so far. Good sound, easy install. As other have mentioned, no way to change button color, not a deal breaker. Camera resolution isn't the best.

    • Not all 'Boss'es are good
I had a Boss system before which was working great. Keeping that in mind, I ordered this product. The package and the produce looked amazing. I used a third party installer (Of course professional technician) and spent more than the product cost to install. As per the manual, shifting to reverse will trigger the backup camera. But the description of the wire in the manual not matched with the actual product. So temporarily left the backup camera to switch manually. Then contacted the seller. I got as response to try a different wire. Again I spent for re-connecting the wire which is a blunt mistake I did. While doing so, it got short circuited and the camera gone. Not working at all. Now, I need to buy another system and pay for another round of installation. Meanwhile, I contacted Boss customer service. They are happily ready to replace. But I need to pay $199 upfront or I need to send my defective product and they will send a new one. I chose the 2nd option. But my car will not be operatable until I get a new device. Tragic part is, I need to pay for someone again to uninstall the device and once I get the new one, I need to pay for installing again. Hopefully the new device works..!! Help me God..!! ... show more

    • Mostly good but two bad things

Two things I don’t like, but I can get over them: it’s advertised as having the capability of changing the illumination colors for the buttons. But we have not been able to find how to do that. There’s no option for it in the settings and the instructions don’t mention that feature. I’d like the buttons to be orange to match the rest of my dash’s buttons. Also, the car play function doesn’t work with my aux cable. A cable is provided but it comes out of the BACK of the unit so I’d have to take the dash apart again and rig some way to use it. Otherwise, it sounds great, looks great, buttons are responsive, interface is user friendly. ... show more
