  • Love it! Watch video for tips
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
My husband and I have spent HOURS over the past couple years researching automatic coffee machines but we were never willing to pull the trigger because of so many negative reviews for the Phillips and DeLonghi brands. If you’re gonna pay over a grand for a coffee machine, it better not have basic issues with things like leaking and temperature. Machine size and profile were also an issue for us. We decided to just wait it out, hoping something amazing would hit the market eventually. Well -- IT HAS! This machine is exactly what we had hoped for and more. Other reviewers have hit most of the main points but after using this machine for over a month, my favorite parts, besides making the best coffee I’ve had from any machine, are 1) The amazing digital touch screen and prompts (very user-friendly), 2) the vast selection of drinks with detailed descriptions and customization options, 3) the self-cleaning functions 4) the milk feature 5) the large water container that is SUPER easy to remove and reattach without spillage, 6) the favorites menu feature, 7) the hot water option (electric tea kettle no longer needed!). You can slide the bean cover completely off -- it isn't attached -- so you don't have to worry as much about height space when filling the beans. I didn't get the milk container and recommend that you don't either -- you just don't need it. The connection hose is flexible and sturdy, brilliantly sits in the tray, and you can easily place it directly in a quart of milk to minimize having to clean an extra container or stash it in the fridge. It is a very sweet feature! (Note that the manual recommends you do NOT use anything with cream.) I initiate a cleaning cycle just for the milk system after every couple drinks for peace of mind (it’s only 2 minutes). I make espresso, coffee, lattes, cappuccino, macchiatos, and many other varieties. It's super fun and easy to try them all! The only real negative for me is that you cannot create your own drink milk ratios. You can easily adjust them, but there are limitations. For example, the lowest milk ratio for a latte is 30% milk, which is still too much for me. And there is no other coffee drink option with less milk. I called support and they said Bosch may update this in the future, and with the handy digital app, I should automatically receive any software updates. SUPER NICE! In the mean time, I just add a shot of espresso to my latte and it's a home run. The coffee temperature is indeed hot (129 deg F) which is a priority for us (slow brew is 158 deg F). Many other machines apparently fall short on that, but we were not disappointed! And you can adjust the temperature. The manual is sparse which was a surprise because there are some nice features that you have to discover on your own. For example, when you select a drink, you will get a customization screen, but then if you click on the drink name in that screen, it shows you a description of the drink… kinda important but not obvious. I didn’t find that kind of detailed info in the product description or on their website either. I called customer service once (about my milk ratio question), was connected to a real person quickly, was passed around a bit, but I eventually got to the right place and they were helpful. It was definitely nice to get real people. Slight learning curve on emptying the drip tray so be patient. Pull the whole thing out at once with your hand underneath to support the end and tilt it slightly toward you. When you get to the sink, tilt it away from you and the water pours out of the channel on the left end. Then just reinsert the whole piece — no need to take it apart unless you want to rinse it. So far, we are SUPER impressed, super happy, and so so glad we waited patiently for this beauty. I hope it continues to perform well because so far, it’s definitely worth its pretty penny! Update: As of August 2025 (12 months of use), we love this machine more than ever ( though still no update to the milk ratio feature ). ... show more

  • Bosch Sets the Bar: Best Super-Automatic Espresso Machine Yet!
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
I've owned several super-automatic espresso/coffee machines, and I’ve got to say—this Bosch 800 Series VeroCafe is one of the best, if not the best. The coffee quality is top-notch—smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Unlike many other super-automatics, this one actually lets you make a larger cup without sacrificing quality. The touch screen interface is incredibly easy to use, offering a variety of coffee and specialty drink recipes at your fingertips. One of my favorite features is the milk frothing system—it has a tube that pulls milk directly from your container, heats or froths it, and dispenses it right into your cup with zero hassle. Cleaning is a breeze, thanks to the machine’s step-by-step visual guides that walk you through maintenance effortlessly. And let’s talk about noise—Bosch clearly borrowed some engineering magic from their ultra-quiet dishwashers because this is hands-down the quietest super-automatic grinder machine I’ve ever owned. Overall, five stars—outstanding quality, easy operation, and fantastic coffee. Bosch does not disappoint! Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Game changer. We love it Game changer. We love it
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
I researched automatic espresso machines for months. It was between delonghi evo magnifica plus, Phillips and Bosch. Delonghi had a huge price increase overnight. I reached out & asked customer service if they would honor the price from 24 hrs ago & they said no. I went with the Bosch & Amazon had a nice coupon. I have used it every day for 5 weeks now and tried all the various drinks. Easy to understand the machine. I do not really use the app. It has a favorites screen that you can save multiple recipes for your family. The main screen for each beverage offers you a choice of coffee strength, size, and milk ratio if drink has milk. I use bottled water because I have bad tasting hard water from the tap. It goes through a lot of water since it cleans itself before and after every use. Not a big deal. Machine tells you when to empty the drip tray, when you need more water & when running low on beans. I have not changed the filter yet or used the cleaning tablets yet. PROS. It makes an excellent cup of coffee regardless if you use milk or not Easy to use Easy to maintain So many choices of drinks CONS Coffee could be hotter, I started warming the milk in the microwave first. My cappuccino mug doesn’t really fit under the spout and I have to tip it a bit to remove the full mug I wish I could change the beans in the hopper easily so I could switch to decaf sometimes. All & all, I love it!! I look forward to waking up & having my coffee because of this purchase ... show more

  • update April 16 2025; see video 1.52 ( 1 minute 52 seconds ).
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
Final update & final conclusion; return item waiting for Amazon to pick up; after calling Bosch support follow the video they send me, after opening the side panel, find broken / loose part inside, I still followed the instructions took out the brewing part and rinse under cold tap water, use towel to make sure it’s fully dry before reinstall & try again, got better but still came out with mostly water instead of coffee. Call Amazon ask for replacement, turn out they only allow refund for this product, now is waiting for Amazon driver to pick it up do I can get my money back and order another brand; NO MORE stress NO MORE Bosch, Update 3rd time; So this morning the coffee instead of coming out with coffee, it just came out with warm water; not even hot!!! ( see video 1:52. Took me 30 minutes to go back & forth still having issue; the whole point of buying and having a fully automatic espresso machine is to try to make life easier, but instead of thst; I am now having to stress out wondering if; am I going to have a nice cup if espresso/ coffee or am I going to have a cups of “xxxxing garbage” I have make up my mind; will be calling their 800 customer service number, if I am not satisfied with their answer this machine will needs to be return; either be replace or I would jujitsu get my money back and buy another brand; my number 2 & 3m that is in the list; ( this Bosch 800 series was my #1 pick!!!!!! ). I am deducting one star from the two star as my salary for wasting over 30 minutes of my life time!!!! ) and not able to have my coffee at home. Update; 4/15/2025; After about 3 weeks of used; originally from one star now upgrade to two stars; reason for the extra one star; after so much frustration trying to figure out how to use the machine; I emailed the Bosch support team, just got the response from them early this morning; didn’t really answer my questions regarding how to customize the temperature preference; one very important component to making good espresso & coffee!!!! Again; did NOT bother to answer my questions but instead send me the online version of menu thst I have to looked it up…. And also an customer service phone line, anyway the one star upgrade was definitely not because of the email; After a few days of trying; again trying to figure out why every time after turn on it will turn off after a while; their is a custom setting how long the machine will stay on before turn off by itself; every time the machine turm it vs when it will start with raising, then make really watery coffee taste like warm water with a few drops off coffee, after kept trying!!!!!! Finally; earlier today; so the trick is; for example; espresso; you HAVE to tap the espresso then go into the setting when you can “ customize your espresso “ this is what I pick; see below; Coffee setting is also below the espresso ( really strong!!!! ). I will try more drinks and give update accordingly. Espresso strength; Extra strong double shot 1.5 fl.oz cup size distinctive Aroma. Coffee ; Extra Strong Double shot 4.0 fl.oz cup size Balance Aroma. About the above setting; the real espresso finally came out, I felt like I am back in Italy, or drunk one of those espresso make by one of those old school “cafe master” Another thing; their recommendations is to used toasted coffee only, noon other coffee stuff & do NOT use coffee powder, only roasted coffee bean ( I used the Costco brand French roast; for these experiments) but will go get those plain roaster coffee bean asap to see if the espresso can get even more improvement?!?!?! On the other hand I will try the coffee option to see how the regular coffee would come out tomorrow etc etc, still have a few days to go; if I am happy with just these main two coffee option; this machine is going to be a keeper, if not; then a return due to not able to make coffee period!!!! Which means I will give it another update aXX bd let the viewers know the result, hopefully will help you guys make the decision before pressing the buy button or not. As title stated;I am some what disappointed!!! Before decided to buy this Bosch machine; making purchase I have don’t extensive research For at least couple of weeks, hoping to get a reasonable coffee espresso machine, 1st try; 145 fl.oz at 136 F , 2nd, 3rd and so on, So it range from 1.45-1.55 fl.oz temp 135F to 146 F The color were not that impressive, didn’t have that espresso creamy texture, taste strong because I set it to maximum. So one of my main disappointment is that the temperature is not high enough, I really wish if I could have/ or rather Bosch will allow the user to set up their preferences. Anyway; Pro; 1; looks impressive, colorful pics, easy swipe menu with pic & name of coffee with fl.oz info ( which might not be accurate!!! Because when after the machine pull the espresso I measured with my scale and it was over the amount…. ), 2; water tank have side handle & cover easily to take it off and put it back on top. 3; able to hold good amount of water in the tank. Cons; 1; Price did NOT match quality of the product ( I paid about $1,200 ) 2; Temperatures were NOT high enough in order to again pull that espresso / make it to a reasonable quality. 3; ( over the suggested fl.oz amount ( which is NOT that big of a deal ), 4; the filter for the water tank; because I do have a big hand I find it hard to place the filter onto the thing where it supposed to sit firmly. ( see pic ). 5; confusing instruction menu, the parts were places “everywhere” seems like they were in a rush when out the package together. Told me a while to find all the parts and again; because the menu were confusing, had to go back & forth before I was able to understood what the try to instruct. Conclusion; so I actually also bought the 4 years insurance coverage just incase, but after these couple of days, there are about 70% chance it might be a return within 30 days period. For this review; I will definitely give it an update msybe one or two weeks from now and I am really hoping this machine will make me change my mind. And keep it with a positive update review, but it only deserved 1star for now; unfortunately. ... show more

  • All pros, no cons (other than maybe the price, but not really, more on that in the review)
Color: Metallic Silver Size: With Milk Container
I had high expectations for this coffee machine, and it has absolutely exceeded them. I've had the machine for about 6 months now, and it has functioned absolutely flawlessly. The quality of the coffee and the many different variants that it can make are all absolutely fantastic. I feel a bit silly at times for having such an expensive coffee machine, because I primarily use it for a simple cup of black coffee, but it does that so well, I don't even consider going to coffee shops anymore. I used a Nespresso Vertuo machine for many years prior to this machine, and I'm so glad I switched. For one, those Vertuo pods are so expensive, and the selection is relatively limited, not to mention all the waste the pods create. Being able to use whatever whole beans I want has been such an improvement, and frankly, for the price difference of what I was paying for pods, I think it'll only be a year or two of use before I break even on the cost of this machine. What prompted me to write this review, was that today was the first time the machine needed a full cleaning. Not only did it prompt me that it was due, but it also gave an incredibly detailed walk-through including animations, for how to disassemble and clean the various parts. I feel confident I'll get many years of great coffee from this machine, and the modular construction of the various parts make me feel good about its serviceability. ... show more

  • Disappointed This Time, but Will Try Again
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
I was really looking forward to using this Bosch 800 Series espresso machine, but unfortunately the unit arrived DOA. It’s likely because it was refurbished, and perhaps the final quality check missed something. I ended up returning it, which was disappointing. That said, I like the features and capabilities on paper, so I’ll consider purchasing it again—but next time, I’ll go for a brand-new unit to avoid potential issues. ... show more

  • Bosch 800 vs Jura Z8 - So far, LOVE this Bosch Bosch 800 vs Jura Z8 - So far, LOVE this Bosch
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
We're a family of coffee lovers that have been using higher end Jura espresso machines for over 15 years but after the last Jura Z8 stopped working at 3 years and they wanted over $500 to fix it, we decided to try this less expensive 800 series with some cooler features from Bosch, an established brand name. I also want to say I have not been paid or given a free machine to review and here's our opinion after we’ve used for only a week . We'll need to see how it holds up over time so I’ll update in 6 months. PRO's vs JURA – There are MANY! - GREAT PRICE: Bought on prime day for $1299 which is almost 1/3 the price of a high-end Jura. - BETTER TASTING COFFEE USING LESS BEANS: Coffee is a lot stronger and better tasting than our Z8; not sure how they do this! So far, we're also using less beans. I think they do this double brewing which must save beans but doesn’t degrade the taste at all. - NICE BIG BRIGHT DIGITAL SCREEN: No comparison to the Jura (although I know Jura is starting to go with better screens on expensive higher end models). LOVE the digital Bosch screen and how you can easily personalize your favorites. One of my favorite features was reading what each type of international coffee was and seeing where they came from then trying them out. As an example, the Americano is nothing we’ve tasted before. The darker coffee-infused foam is so cool and very, very tasty! I used to always have to use sweeteners but finding that the taste of the coffee drink alone is good enough. I also love how they have cold brew options. - AVAILABLE APP: We’re a techie family, and to be honest, love anything with connectability. We haven’t tried a remote coffee yet, since we typically use milk, but like the option. The APP also has other yummy drinks. We can't wait to try the espresso martini. Still diving into what else the app offers but the cool thing is, updates could bring newer options and drinks. I’m sure Jura will get this soon if they don’t already have it, but probably on more expensive models. - NICE MILK TUBE: Having a place to hold your milk inlet tube on the machine is a nice touch (not on Jura). We decided not to get the model with the attached milk container since we are a family that uses different milk types: 1% milk, soy and almond, so didn’t make sense. - MECHANISM’S EASY ACCESSIBILITY: Love the ability to pull out the inside mechanisms for cleaning if needed. On Jura, it is very difficult to clean the inside. You can't even see the tampering piece which is one of the most important parts of the machine and what we think got clogged on our last jura. - GOOD SIZE: Same exact size as our Jura Z8 so fits perfectly in the space. - WARMING TRAY: Love the option (not on Jura), but not sure it keeps it that warm. We'll need to try this out more. - ADJUSTABLE SPOUT FOR TALLER GLASSES: Even though it states only 5-1/2 “ of space, fits tall glasses a little over 6”. This is about the same as Jura, so happy it was more than we expected. - A LOT OF SPACE IN WATER RESERVOIR: Same as Jura so that was nice. CON's vs JURA – Keeping in mind that many are due to the lower price point and not enough of a con to lower my star rating. - BOSCH IS NEW TO THIS MARKET: Although Bosch is a trusted brand name, they appear to be new in the high-end espresso machine market so only time will. Jura's customer service is excellent, so we'll have to see if Bosch's is as well. - INTERNAL & EXTERNAL PARTS ARE NOT AS HIGH END: Outside softer plastic covering could scratch easily. Bosch has softer plastics vs heavier plastic/metal pieces but that’s expected with such a big price difference. Time will tell if they hold up and how they look later. - WARRANTY NOT AS GOOD: Jura is 2 years vs Bosch’s 1 year. - SOME FEATURES NOT AUTOMATED: The hand selecting grind on top and having to submerse the filter yourself to get water inside before placement are not automated, but this is not that big of a deal since it’s a lesser price but wanted to mention it. - PULL OUT WASTEWATER TRAY IS SMALLER: Need to empty more often which is slightly annoying. However, it is nice that the bean tray doesn’t sit right on top of the water tray like Jura. That created issues on our Jura. - MILK ATTACHMENT KNOB MAY BE TOO FLIMSY: The knob on the machine for the milk inlet tube placement seems a little flimsy. We remove the tube and put back 3-4x a day so worried it could fail, but again, we’ll see. - BEAN CONTAINER A LITTLE AWKWARD AND SEEMS SMALLER: Even though the bean capacity stated larger than our Jura Z8, it seems smaller. Jura’s is much easier to fill without obstacles like a screen that comes all the way to the top like Bosch’s and odd small spaces on the side to fill, but we are working around that. - NOT AS MANY SENSORS AS JURA: doesn’t have all the bells and whistles with sensors, like when tops are off of the bean tray, drip tray and water reservoir, but I’m OK with this especially with the lower price tag. ... show more

  • Buy plenty of beans. Enjoy!
Color: Black Size: Without Milk Container
I have been using this machine for a month now. The quality of coffee that it produces is second to none. After several days of use I finally got the settings to where I want. The machine goes through beans more quickly than I expected. I figured out that the best way to stretch the beans is to make the grande at the 3rd level and distinctive setting. This will only use one shot of beans and it dispenses slowly to give you the strongest cup of coffee possible. Then I use the hot water option to add 5 ounces of hot water. This still gives you a very strong cup of coffee in the most efficient way possible. If you select the grande at the 4th level, it uses two shots of beans which is a major waste of beans. If you choose to make the XL coffee, it will use two shots of beans, which again, is a waste of beans. Every time you start the machine from sleep, it goes through a rinse cycle and wastes a bunch of hot water. If you are not making beverages with the milk suction tube, then the rinse cycle is a bit of a waste and adds more time to make a cup of coffee. If you are using the app to make your coffee, you can shut off the rinse cycle. The only thing you can do when making your coffee at the machine to reduce rinse cycles is to increase the time it takes before the machine goes into sleep mode. It defaults to 30 minutes, I increased it to one hour. These adjustments will also reduce the number of times that the drip tray will need to be emptied. This is a very well made machine that makes tremendous hot beverages. The touch screen is very well displayed and very intuitive to use. I feel extremely spoiled having this incredible device in my home. ... show more
