The electric whole house tankless water heaters can be installed virtually anywhere inside the home. These heaters don’t hold water to heat in a storage tank, making them a great space saving option. • Works great
Size: 17.3 kW
Works great as I was replacing out an old Bosch unit in its place. I like the digital readout for temperature which was a nice change from the old unit.

  • We are in hot water again
Size: 17.3 kW
I have to admit, the easy to install rating was a little cheating. I was replacing an earlier model from 10 years ago. I never flushed the unit or had a filter attached. This time I installed a tankless valve kit. This allows me to be able to flush the unit, without removing the hoses. I also installed a pre filter to keep scale to a minimum I hope. This unit should by all means last up to 20 years according to tankless water heater reports. Fingers crossed. ... show more

  • BOSCH Tronic 6000 C (WH17) Electric Tankless Whole House Water Heater is good quality equipment but no whole house coverage
Size: 17.3 kW
When I got the Bosch Tronic 6000C Electric Whole House Tankless Water Heater, I was really excited. I have been looking at tankless heaters and Bosch I knew to be a fine brand of hardware. The family has a small vacation house in the mountains and I thought this would be a perfect addition to the appliances up there. We took the water heater up and started measuring appropriate spaces to hold it. We found the best place seemed to be adjacent to the existing water heater. The water lines and electric panels were right there and easy to access. At first, we had considered a cabinet up in the upstairs bathroom but it involved far too much effort in the way of plumbing and electrical lines. The tankless heater was installed on a wall just above the main water heater. I would advise that you get a professional electrician to do the wiring for this project. There are a lot of specific requirements to be met to comply with electrical codes. And you need to meet them. We were fortunate to be able to wall mount this heater. The unit is not super heavy and it can be handled by one person. The unit is mounted with included mounting screws. After the tankless heater was installed, we started checking the various sinks, tubs and showers for evidence of success. The kitchen sink was perfect. The water temperature measured a nice hot 120 degrees. That works well for doing dishes, etc. and a high enough temperature for a dish washer to not strain itself heating too cold water. The sinks in the bathrooms also produced water hot enough to wash your hands, etc. The only problem with the bathroom sinks was a lag getting hot water to the sinks. It took at least 1-1/2 minutes for the water to come out warm enough. The water was plenty hot then and the wait was in part due to the distance of the sink to the tankless heater. The big problem came when we checked out the tub and shower. The distance to the tub and shower were the same as the distance to one of the bathroom sinks. No 120 degree water flowed from those faucets. As a matter of fact, 97 degrees was the highest we could coax out of those faucets with ONLY the hot water taps turned on. That may be an OK temperature in the middle of summer, but during colder times of the year, BURRR. No matter what we did, we could not up that temperature. The second big problem for us was the electricity use. The unit used 17 kilowatts hours to operate the tankless heater. Now, that may be negligible if you have solar power, have cheap electricity from your provider but if you are like us, we don't take Navy showers and we have expensive electrical rates. In our case, there was no whole house coverage and the additional problems made this tankless water heater not a particularly good choice for us. ... show more

  • Terrible
Size: 17.3 kW
If you want half the water pressure and luke warm water then this is the water heater for you, and this is one of the better rated tanks out there!! The technology isn't there yet, just stay with the regular water heaters for now.

  • Bosch Tankless
Size: 17.3 kW
Unit was ordered as direct replacement due to failed control panel on original 5-year old discontinued model unit. Unit shipped quickly, arrived quickly; expedited shipping due to failed unit-no hot water. On-line reviews were horrid. Unit requires both Plumber & Electrician so that can be a challenge. Was fairly quick change-out & connections were same as older failed model. Bosch on-line support leaves lots to be desired. (no manual on original; mixed model manual on current model & incomplete/inaccurate) Unit worked & minor improvements in design were better for user. Will see how long this on lasts? ... show more
