  • Worth the money
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
Money very well spent. My water stays hot the entire time I'm using it. Waters hot enough that I need to turn it down, which is impressive because I like my showers hot. Perfect buy for off grid living. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

  • High quality, great warranty
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
The shower meets all of my expectations. I bought three of them for my off-grid camping excursions. They are well built, long lasting, and produce high volume of hot water as advertised. They stand by their warranty if any issues arise. I have used other propane showers previously but this is the most reliable and productive unit I have found on the market. ... show more

  • Major fire risk
Style: 1.32 GPM/5L
Our water heater on the boat failed so I swapped it out for this one. This is the third gas heater I have installed on the boat as they last about 6 years before the electrical connections corrode and it dies. The install was very uneventful. I use Pex line with quick connect fittings to the unit so swapping is very easy. I selected this unit because it has the same configuration as the last one from front starting at the left side: Gas - Hot water - cold water In next to no time the unit was installed and tested. It worked great but had an issue with the water detection. Sometimes it would start the gas even though the only faucet opened was the cold water one. It started the gas and quickly stopped. I figured it was just false detecting. We set out on our trip. My one week off per year I go fishing with the wife. No problems for two days. Then on the third day, I was prepping dinner and I noticed that the water pump was running but no one was using the water. I asked the wife to check the bathroom faucet. Then she screamed. Smoke billowed out of the bathroom. Luckily we had fire extinguishers. The CO2 one stopped the flame but it restarted. We resorted to the dry powder to put it out. That blue stuff in the picture is the residue. The entire boat area was filled with the blue powder. yes I know you shouldn't use dry powder indoors, but when you are facing a massive cleanup or a boat sinking in the middle of nowhere due to fire, you use what you can to put the fire out. The picture shows what the issue was. The unit caught fire internally and the paint on the unit kept it burning. I worked out what happened. The unit turned on the gas even though there was no hot water faucet opened. This caused the water to boil and pressurize the water system. This then burst the hose and caused our pump to detect a pressure drop and turned on because it thought a faucet was open. Thankfully we heard the pump or this situation could have been catastrophic. Imagine it happening at night while we were sleeping! Closer examination revealed that the gas inlet connection was damaged on the seal end and someone had put a glue/sealer on the threads to prevent the gas leaking. I have no idea if this was done at the factory or this unit was returned. Needless to say, it gets a one star review for nearly setting fire to our boat and sinking it in the middle of nowhere. One vacation cancelled, a huge mess to clean up. Completely and utterly not recommended. ... show more

  • Warm water
Style: 1.32 GPM/5L
Well this is my second water heater. So I would have given this 5 stars if it was consistently hot water, but sometimes hot sometimes warm. Not sure of the reason why but it's better than freezing well water. So it works but fluctuates temperature

  • If you enjoy endless hot water while camping this one is just for you. Read the manual !
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
Tested the Outdoor portable propane shower outside with a 8 mph breeze. The breeze was blowing directly at the shower. Pros: Easy install if you read the instructions. Take your time reading them. Water heats up fast and stays hot Temperature adjustment is somewhat easy to figure out. With a 8mph steady breeze the unit stayed lit without any interruption to the flame. Everything you need to hook it up ( other than the propane bottle , 2 D batteries, water and garden hose ) are included. I looked for common sense be it wasn't shipped with the unit. More on that later. On-off button on the shower head Cons: Instructions may have been written by the Chinese. At times I though I was having a stroke while reading the installation guide. Some instructions make no sense. This isn't a big deal unless you drank to much coffee before hand and have a anger problem. Some things I learned while testing it. I planed on taking it camping. The reasons is simple.I need to shower once a day of I whine like a 6 year old. Don't judge me. With that said, this shower is heavy and cumbersome. I installed a pump, screen, extra hose and 12 volt car battery for the " off the grid " pump. If you do the electric pump thing read up on the gallons per minute requirements for this shower. I got the one that will empty a swimming pool in 15 minutes. Great pump but a short shower. 3 min shower = 5 gallons. When the pump starts to push air into the shower unit, the safety will shut off the propane. At this point the water temperature will drop to really cold. When the water returns to the shower the pilot light will automatically light the propane. The water can become extremely hot for a short burst of time. Common sense: If you smell propane and the water isn't heating up according to the manual it's not broken. Tighten the propane hose. Finger tight doesn't count. If the water pressure is low ...... you are losing water from the hose connection. You would think I would have figured that out, but I just kept looking at the shower spout thinking, " It's broken " . The plumber tape provided works if you use it. I must have missed that part in the manual. ... show more

  • Works ok
Style: 1.58 GPM/6L
Have used it for an outdoor shower for about 50 times. Once, it refused to light and would not do so even with new batteries and verifying the battery connections. The manual suggested removing the front cover and checking the wiring connections but there were no instructions on removing the cover. It started working again on its own and now I’m afraid to move it or vibrate it. Updated: after 6 months outdoors, the chassis began to rust and paint pieces were breaking off. Very unsightly with patches of rust. It would have been nice if the sheet metal was galvanized. ... show more
