Ok so I love this thing. I expected what I got, just a few things. This might be a shipping problem but my safe came a bit damaged (the inner combination little black plastic thing was broken off a bit when I opened it. No big deal). It still works and looks fine on the outside so I have no problem with it though. I wish there was some sort of flap between the cover and the safe so if it’s opened it’s not immediately discovered. I like it very much. This safe isn’t gonna protect your stuff against the elements but if u have a diary, small secrets and gadgets u wanna hide it’s perfect. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SIZES FOR WHAT UR LOOKING FOR. I almost made that mistake 😅

When on the shelf with my other books you would never know this was not a dictionary. Best way to hide something is to hide it in plain sight. But if block doesn't work it's kind of useless. I was in and out of this maybe three or four times and the plastic broke off the side of the main lock so the entire lock falls out of the box. I could probably epoxy it and place but what am I to take the chance of not getting my goods out of the box. Couldn't find a way to contact the seller to see if I could get a replacement part.

This little book safe is just the right size to blend in on any bookshelf. The cover is very convincing, and although the page edges are slightly less convincing, they work for a casual inspection. If the book were sitting on a desk with the page-edges facing someone, they might draw scrutiny, as they don't appear evenly cut. The safe itself could be pried open with a pry-bar and some effort, but for the purposes of keeping a curious child out of it, it's perfect. If you want to hide something from a casual inspection of a room or from accidental discovery by a child, this is the way to go. If you are a concealed carrier and just need a place to stash your pistol overnight where a child won't find it while you sleep, this is fine. If you need to keep a more diligent burglar from finding it when tossing your house, or if you're leaving it behind for an extended period, you need to put it in an actual safe, mounted to the floor. But for hiding it in plain sight while you sleep? Perfect. I recommend that one cuts some foam to custom fit any object one stores in it, to keep the weight from shifting around and giving itself away.
