I bought this for my son who is starter student pilot. I have asked him if he likes it and he said, it's good for starter. It has information on the clipboard that is useful especially just learning it. The note pad is very useful. Has where to write information for each thing. Overall good purchase. Would recommend.

You can tell they put a lot of thought into the layout of the notepad. Very helpful quick references on the board itself. Tip: You can use a blank mailing label, cut it to cover any of the areas you wouldn't use, and write your own quick references in the space instead. I like the fine point of the pen. However, as someone else has already mentioned, the pen isn't very secure in the holder if it is bumped. You CAN put the center of the pen holder under the clip of the pen which secures it better. Though, there really should be an accessory or attachment to secure the pen with a short leash to the board itself. Much like bank pens. Also maybe an alternate (swappable?) pen holder that can be a pad of hook and loop (Velcro) and have a strip on the pen.

This kneeboard fits perfectly and is small enough to not add any bulk within a limited space, yet big enough to read clearly and write on. I like the fact that it comes with a pen holder as well. The strap is also comfortably stretchy, which is good because my thighs are a bit on the bulkier side. I can’t wait to use it!

Kneeboard quality and the pad is fine. However both my son and I have used it a few times and every time (no matter what pen we use) the pen gets knocked out and ends up on the floor of the cockpit, and yesterday disappeared into the rudder pedals. I will need to create a Velcro or string attachment for it to make the pen placement better.
