So well packaged, it would have surely gotten damaged if it wasn’t. I was hesitant to pay for the shipping but so glad I did. As for the safe, it’s a great, sleek option. Easy to set fingerprint scanner and new code. Haven’t figured out how to disable the alarm feature, but that’s not a huge issue for me. Safe is great for what I need, top compartment is nice, holders on the door are great too. I’m very pleased with this purchase and know I made the right choice. It’s a great buy. Only knock on this was the instructions, not great, but eventually figured it out. Still, 5 stars for the safe and 5 plus stars for being exceptionally well packaged.

This gun safe does not fit in a normal 2x4 framed wall. In a normal wall it is almost an inch deeper than a standard stud which is 3.5 inches, unless someone is using six inch deep studs or 1 inch think drywall it would be impossible to install without protruding 2.5 inches into your room, making concealment nearly impossible in addition it would leave a gap behind the lip of the safe which would make it easy to put a pry bar behind it and quickly remove the whole safe from the wall. I will be returning the item, as the web description is not accurate as noted above, for example it states: "【HIDDEN GUN SAFE】 Intergreat In wall gun safe between studs is a secret. Can fit in any room such as foyer, living room, home office, bedroom or even bathroom. This is a secret only you know. It does not take up a lot of space, the whole cabinet is in the wall, even if a burglar sneaks in, it cannot be easily found, The in wall gun safe is just the right size and easy to hide."

The safe itself is good quality and value for money. The dimensions are to exact. It is to be placed between standard studs that are 16" on center. That leaves 14.5 inches between and the safe is exactly 14.5 inches but all corners have a reinforcement that makes it over 14.5 inches and it will not fit. The assumption is that the studs are all perfectly straight and were framed to be exact but that will never be the case. I found multiple videos of people having same problem with safe not fitting. If they made it 14" it could easily fit and be shimmed instead of my only option which is to TRY and cut enough off of studs for it to fit. A royal pain.

The problem I had with this cabinet started after I unpacked the door. Everything to that point was fine. When I unpacked the door, I noticed the top was bent downwards, the side of the door with the locking bolts was bent/creased and there were several smaller protrusions up and down the door. Since I had already unpacked everything, I had no choice but to put the thing together. I started off by literally bending the top of the door frame back into shape. Of course, you can never get something like this back to its original configuration so now that it is assembled the top of the door and the top panel of the cabinet do not line up correctly because they had to be forced together. Once it was all together, I realized the bend/crease that is in the side of the door forces the locking bolts to not completely engage so when I close the cabinet, I have to use my shoulder to push it just a little bit so the bolts will engage. Also, the key gets stuck in the lock and it struggles to lock and unlock the door. I’m guessing this is also a result of the damage to the door. One of the screws was not properly molded. The head of the screw literally did not have the slots for the screwdriver to fit into. Also, the six volt case was cracked down the side track which prevents it from closing properly. Lastly, as some others have commented, the instructions can be a little challenging. I can’t say I am happy with this cabinet because of the issues above and the fact I don’t trust I would be able to get into it in an emergency.
