I had an old Fellows W11C which has worked fabulously for 10 years. I tried to shred an expired Amazon visa card by Chase which is thicker and less pliable than normal (Those who have this card should know this) and it jammed and broke part of the engaging mechanism in the middle of the shredder. I was able to pull it out using a plier and the shredder still works, but with special orientation pushing the paper toward the front so as to engage the remnant of the engaging mechanism. I decided to throw it and did not want to spend a lot on a replacement. I did not have high expectations of this Bonsaii (8 sheets Cross shredder for about $30). In that sense, I am not disappointed. The basket of 4.2 gal. is smaller than what I had and is thin plastic. The whole unit is lighter and overall, feels cheap and not sturdy. It is just like most shredders in terms of noise and it is not quiet. It has 4 settings (On Auto, Fwd, Rev and Off). It doesn't always pick the paper fast enough and seems slower to feed. The manual is not in the best English and has absurdities. It states it takes one credit card at a time. It also states maximum daily use is for 25 sheets and 2 credit cards and not advised for adhesive or large clips. For maintenance, it recommends shredder sheets and not oil, which makes no sense. I have not tried regular staples and do not plan on using paper clips, or CD's. I do not think it is a heavy duty shredder and would not recommend for a regular office or heavy use. It seems to work fine otherwise for light to medium house use. I plan to use shredder oil for lubrication and will update if needed. Hopefully, it will last for few years. Thank you. PS: A word of advice for those who have the Amazon Chase Visa card: When you receive the new card, send it back in the included return envelope and do not try to shred it at home, unless you have a Godzilla monster industrial shredder.

Very capable and powerful shredder. I also got the lubricating sheets which I'm sure will extend the life of this machine. The only gripe is that the way it is designed it is top-heavy and easily gets knocked over, spilling the contents. Maybe if the base was slightly larger than the top it would add more stability instead of the other way where it's tapered on the bottom with less footing. I like the integrated handle. Would be nice if there was a lock to prevent the top from coming loose in case it does fall over. One more nitpick about it is that when you turn it to Auto, it immediately starts running for a couple seconds even without anything inserted and there is a slight delay until it goes silent again.

This shredder works great & does the job. For the price & the fact that it works I gave it 5 stars. The only thing I do not like is that you can only put a few sheets through it at a time, but I knew that going in so I didn't mark down for that. It's just a minor annoyance. This is a cheap solution to help you get rid of documents.
