Okay so I always wanted to grow a bonsai tree but I had no clue where to start. This starter kit has 5 different kinds—I think it was juniper, red maple, black pine, and a couple others but I lost the little stick markers for one of 'em (my fault not the kit). You get 5 planters which is nice cause you can try multiple seeds at once. The soil comes in dry discs that expand when you add water. That was kinda cool to watch. The tools is a small rake, scissors, and a little shovel thing. They ain't high quality metal but for a beginner it's plenty. I followed the instructions which is printed clear and simple. Soaked the soil, filled the pots, put seeds in at the right depth, covered with plastic wrap to keep humidity. I kept 'em indoors like it said. After about 10 days I saw the first sprout. Now I got little baby trees on my desk. The whole thing feels like a DIY craft project and a gardening lesson at the same time. If you want a gift for a man or woman who likes plants or just needs a new hobby, this kit is great. Just gotta have patience cause trees don't grow overnight.
