Description

In terms of excellent coffee brewing, manual labor is more popular than ever - that is if pressing a plunger can be qualified as manual labor. The French press lets the coffee beans develop their fullest aroma so it doesn’t come as a surprise that it is the brewing method of choice for coffee tasters trying to determine quality beans. The simplest route to an excellent cup of coffee: coarsely ground coffee, hot water, wait for 4 minutes and press down the plunger. The Chambord has been a classic almost from the day it came out - still is and always will be. This latest update comes with a lid that closes off the spout which makes the Chambord spill-proof should it get knocked over. It also makes for better temperature control. The Chambord comes in four different sizes (0.35l, 0.5l, 1.0l, 1.5l) and now comes with a twist, too - a golden opportunity for an excellent cup of coffee. The Chambord is made from borosilicate glass, plastic, chrome-plated/gold-plated steel and silicone and is dishwasher safe.

  • IN LOVE - I WILL NEVER DRIP BREW COFFEE AGAIN!!!
Size: 34 oz.
After my first attempt at using a french press this morning - I came to realization that clearly I never had a really good cup of home-brewed coffee in my life - until today. It is as if I am born again! DON'T be afraid to try a french press. Really. It isn't hard at all. There are lots of videos on YouTube that will show you how easy it is. Regarding this specific model, I got the silver and it is very attractive and beautifully made. I know some people don't really like the lock top, but I do. I have cats that like to get into everything and don't want to take the chance of one of them knocking it over. The one thing I did wrong on this first attempt was that I accidentally lock-aligned the spout with the handle. When I went to pour I realized it, and turned the top around. You will see there is an arrow on the top. That little arrow must face the spout when the lid is locked down. The locking mechanism is two grooves that simply slide in place as you turn the top. It's easy. Another thing I almost forgot to do was pour the remaining coffee into a separate carafe so that the brew doesn't keep brewing. But I caught it in time. I kept the remaining serving in a large cup in the microwave which you can easily reheat for 30 seconds. I guess that can be the only downside of using a french press. If you are serving more than two people, or like to drink lots and lots of coffee, it may not be so efficient. As for cleanup: buy a toothbrush to scrub the grains away from the screen. French press brewing is not hard, it's just different from what most of us are used to. I am going to love the ritual of this method! ... show more

  • Great for tea
Size: 17 oz.
I have always bought Bodum tea pots, which have a plunger to stop the tea from brewing, but the small one is too rounded and does not pour well. The larger teapot’s infuser holes do not go to the bottom so you have to make more than you may want. So I tried this one in a smaller size, 17 oz, and it is better for tea than their tea pots! The locking lid allows you to pour every drop one handed without holding the lid (like the tea pots). ... show more

  • It works
Size: 34 oz.
It took a bit of getting used to the locking top. I have another French Presss, but it was smaller. Decided to get a larger one. Read a lot of reviews and chose Bodum. It works well and cleans easily. However, a diagram of how to lock and unlock the top would be useful.

  • Bodum won't stand behind their product
Size: 17 oz.
The Bodum french press coffee maker did a good job making fine coffee. However, the 5th time I used it, the glass broke. And the text I received from the company basically intimated that I had mistreated the product. When first contacting them, I did tell them that I had read all the instructions and did abide by them. ... show more

  • Makes good coffee
Size: 34 oz.
Only issue, is the glass beaker does not have a way to secure it in the bottom part, so if you forget, and go to dump the grounds, the whole think comes out....so we broke the glass within 48 hours of owning it....with a little caution is should be ok....love the top that keeps the heat in. Don't love the way it pours the water into the kettle - again, without the lid, the glass slides right out. I recommend putting the water in the beaker, put the top on and then pour the water into the kettle....otherwise there is no spout and the water goes all over the place....I ordered another glass beaker and with these precautions, it's been fine. ... show more

  • Doesn't hold 4 cups of coffee
Size: 17 oz.
My husband loved this gift so much, but he needed the larger size. I'm not sure how they get their sizes, but this does not hold 4 cups of coffee. It's enough for about a cup and a half. The larger one is almost the same price so I recommend just buying the bigger size.

  • Bodum Chambord French Press Coffee Maker with Locking Lid, 34 oz, Chrome
Size: 34 oz.
Easy to use. Coffee has a very smooth rich flavor when made by this contraption.

  • Not Awesome
Size: 17 oz.
This is my first French press, so maybe I am expecting too much. I bought the smaller size because I only want to make a cup or two, but it doesn't press all the way to the bottom, so I lose 1/3 of the coffee to the grounds each time.
