I bought my Tesla Y for 3 reasons: 1. FSD 2. "Filling up" at home 3. Getting this refrigerator/freezer Because I'm a real estate agent and I often have to unexpectedly go check on my elderly mother, I never know if I'm going straight home from the grocery store (and my wife never gets the actual things I request lol) With this cooler, I set it to 33 degrees when I get out of my car to go into the store, and by the time I'm out, it's nice and cold and ready for any refrigerated or frozen items. It fits into the Y subtrunk like a glove. It comes with 6 little pads you stick along the edge to ensure there is ventilation for the cooling components. It's nice and large, and it's quiet. The app connects via Bluetooth, so you have to be relatively close to your car to control it (change the temperature) or to see what the current temperature it is. Unfortunately, you can't power it on or off via the app. That's not a huge thing, but I wish you could control the power. It plugs into the 12v outlet in the trunk compartment. Last Friday night, I bought several pork shoulders to cook on Saturday. Because my kitchen refrigerator was too full, I just left all three of them in my car at 33 degrees all night. It worked great. Yes, it is expensive; however, it's so incredibly convenient to have, it's money well spent. I’ve been using this car refrigerator for a few days now, and I’m really happy with it. It cools down much faster than I expected, and drinks get nice and cold in a short amount of time. The size is perfect for my car without taking up too much space. It stays securely in place while driving, and it’s very quiet when running. It’s great for keeping drinks, fruit, snacks, and even groceries cold, especially during hot summer days. I think it’s a great addition for road trips or everyday use. The biggest things I wanted to know before buying were whether it actually fits cleanly in the Model Y and whether it gets cold enough for raod trips. 1. Installation looks almost factory-made once in place 2. Cools much faster than I expected for a car refrigerator 3. Plenty of room for drinks, snacks, and food for family trips 4. Quiet enough that I barely notice it running 5. Battery protection feature gives peace of mind when parked. Perfect fit, easy to use. Power usage is as stated very low 1 to 2% on an 8 hr drive in my Tesla Y. Super convenient for trips or storing frozen or refrigerated goods from the market. Can be used outside of a Tesla, fits behind the seat of my F-150 and runs off the 400w power port with no problem. Definitely a game changer.
