After reading reviews about difficulty of re-packaging this for a return, we decided to carefully unbox it outside in full sunlight, preserving the packing materials intact as much as possible, to closely look it over before setting it up in our room. So far, it seems great! Slats are 3.5 inches apart, and seem to be of just standard, not heavy-weight strength, but are well-secured by velcro. The wood joinery for the frame feels solid and goes together smoothly. A few screws strengthen the structure. The color is called pecan but is more like a dark mahogany. I kinda wish I’d gotten tbe lighter color now, but we can live with it. The wood finish is pretty, but delicate - it did have some minor scratching on it just from the scissors I used to cut the many packaging materials off. It is very cleverly packed, with no inch if space wasted - glad we love it b/c it would be a b****to repack! I really wanted a Thuma, but just could not afford it. This is a more than satisfactory substitute at a quarter the price! ... show more

The bed is very sturdy and noiseless. We bought it to replace a metal frame we bought on Amazon less than a year ago that squeaked, was too high, and had legs that were bowing out. This is a huge improvement, and the price was very reasonable. The legs do stick out a little bit. I have made a mental note to be careful when walking around the end of the bed, especially at night. It does have toe-stubbing potential. Bed went together very easily. Four screws needed to be driven in with a phillips screwdriver and 8 bolts with the included hex wrench. One note: the box is HEAVY. You'll need two people to bring it inside or, as I did, you can open it outside and bring individual parts in. ... show more

Put together super easy looks nice when you set it up. Does not support a 200lb person sitting down on it. Snapped as soon as i sat down. Didnt jump didnt plop down just calmly sat down and the side snapped in half. I dont know if i got a defective one or if this are just very poorly built but i would highly recommend not purchasing this. Just shell out the extra cash for a quality one with quality materials like i should have done. ... show more

This was a great purchase. I had been eyeing a Thuma, and this is exceeding expectations. My son and I built it in 10-15 minutes (mainly cutting it out of the packaging). Its light to move, it looks great, and there are no squeaks or noises as I roll around in bed like other frames we've had. The 4 corners of the frame stick out a bit, and 3 of us in my family have hit a shin on it because our last frame allowed us to hung corners walking around it. That's my only complaint, and it's a "me" issue, not a product issue. ... show more

Aesthetically this bedframe is nice. It’s very easy to assemble and very heavy when delivered. Where it locks into itself, the corners stick out so much that when I’m making the bed I tend to hit my knee on it. Even when pushed all the way up against the wall, there is a gap between the mattress and the wall where my pillow will sometimes fall.
