I ordered this leash expecting it to have a metal closure. This was indicated in photos and description so I was confused when the collar arrived with a plastic closure. It was also blue when I thought I had ordered black. This collar was definitely nice looking and felt like a quality item but I really wanted the metal closure because I thought it would be a little more durable. I contacted the seller. They explained that they changed their closures to plastic because they thought they held up better with the style of the collar but they’d be happy to send me another collar, in my chosen color of black (even though the blue one ordered may have been my mistake) with the metal closure. Awesome! It came about a week later. Couldn’t be happier.

I have two 1 yr old kitties, 11- 12 lbs and 8-9 in necks. I wanted a collar without frills or corny prints so my boys could wear them with dignity. After reading the reviews, I chose these as they looked to be the nicest quality. The X-SM fits them well, is not too bulky, and has a little room left for adjustment. I don't expect them to get much bigger, but if they do (or get fat) I may need a longer collar as these are rated for up to 10" and my bigger guy is almost at the max. Just something to keep in mind. Reviewers have claimed that these are breakaway, but I am skeptical as I was unable to pull them apart. Granted, I'm not particularly strong and I didn't want to ruin my brand new collars, but because I am not certain that these will safely break apart I am giving this rating 4 stars. On the other hand, I don't see these falling off easily so this may actually be a positive for someone else's needs. Proper fit should also alleviate chances that they would get snagged and the need to break away. The adjustable part does stick out a bit, where the material doubles over and is too thick to sit flush. It's a little awkward and when closed, it forms more of soft triangle rather than a circle. Also another reason why I didn't give this product 5 stars, but I still like this better than other cat collars that I have seen. For my purposes, I don't plan on having them be worn 24/7 at this time. They are indoor cats, but do go outside on a harness so I wanted something for outdoor excursions and in case of emergency. I added ID tags (from Leashboss, no dangling) where the material doubles over for their comfort and my peace of mind. They are both short haired, but the collars are easily hidden by their fur unless they move a certain way (very difficult to get a good pic of them wearing them for this reason. Excuse the mess of my floor, as they love to chew/ rip their cardboard scratcher instead of using it for it's intended purpose). If they were to get loose, they may not be easily visible from a distance but my main focus was that they would hopefully have ID on them should they be caught. Brighter colors that stand out against the fur will also help to be more eye catching.

So, my dog was a little chaotic. He always chewed himself out of any collar, harness, doggy coat, whatever. You name it, he ate it. However, he didn't run out the backyard often, so it wasn't majorly important to keep him (name) tagged at all times... until I had the audacity to bring the groceries in without the gate being fully secured. In 5 minutes his tiny little chihuahua legs carried him more than 5 blocks from the house! This collar was the only one he tolerated that was a really great quality! He didn't chew himself out of it (not that this collar is certified chew-proof, maybe just more comfy and not so cheap??) and I personally love the weight and feel to it. Plus, my boy had a wider set shoulders, plus thicker neck due to his mixed-fur coat, so I was really happy to find a collar in this size with this adjustability. He wore it for a year or more before he passed in March, but I'm happy that I can keep this good quality collar along with this little story of it being one of the rare few survivors haha. I really recommend this collar if you want something that's a good quality, good price, and maybe even more comfy for your animal friend!

I do not have a dog and use this for a different reason. I have a Subaru Crosstrek 2023 LTD and the liftgate does not have an automatic button to open and close it. When it is opened it goes to 7 feet high. I am only 5 foot so you can see the problem. The dealership ordered a strap to put inside the handle I am supposed to use to pull it down to close it. But it still wasn't long enough. So I ordered this and looped it around that other handle and it works great. I know this was not the use it was intended for but it works. My friend recommended this item. Great idea. Sometimes have to think outside the box.
