Good all-around hood. I made purchase based on CFM (wanted more than 200 CFM) and the depth (wanted to cover the maximum amount of cooktop surface) and this hood address both of these at a reasonable price. The hood came complete with all the necessary parts and pieces for direct venting off the top or rear, and for recirculating. Only reason for the 4 star rating is the flimsy damper mounting for top direct venting using a 7"Ø duct. After installing the hood, I found that the damper had come loose and fell down onto the fan. I had to remove everything from below, including the fan blades, to reach the damper and remount it. Damper only pressure fits into a couple supports, and really should be a more secure connection.

Replaced an ikea hood with this one. This is much higher quality. The stainless is twice as thick hood covers stove top better. On low this hood vents twice as much air as the ikea did on high at near the same volume. It also fit into the same vent hole and wire hole into the shelf above. Must be a vent hood standard out there, so the install was a breese I fried some oil at way hot temp on a front burner to test smoke capture. High cooking levels of smoke is captured pretty well, with perhaps less than 5% excaping once and a while. As the pan began to smoke beyond anything you would intentionally ever do I turned the fan to medium no smoke could excape. I continued to heat the pan till it was a smoke bomb wit no real excape then turned the fan to high. It created a smoke tornado from the fan to the vent. Zero smoke in the room. Impressive. Noise levels on high are medium high. No conversation buster but not quiet. As I will be using it on low or perhaps medium when I oops who cares. Lights are not quite even, tends to be a bit better lit to the front but not bad at all, perhaps 15% less light on back half of back burners. The fan cover grills are not mesh screens, but just washable air vents. This is great as I don't want to capture the grease in the smoke but vent it out side. This means I do not have to constantly wash those stupid aluminum mesh plates. Just throw the vent covers into the dish washer once.and a while. The vent covers are easy to remove and replace, and are made of heavy duty stainless so they will not warp or bend with rough handling. There are optional filters you can obtain if you intend to use this unit as a non venting install. If you intend to vent outside they include a nicely made plate that replaces the slotted half moon grill that shows in the pictures with a stainless blank. Once again this was made of thick higrade stainless so it will not warp and looks good in place. I was very impressed with the quality of construction and materials, I am very happy with this hood.

I love the look of the hood and it does the job over removing fumes better than my previous one but I have a few gripes. There seems to be no difference in sound or air movement across the three speed settings. Doesn't matter which button you press. I'm pretty sure they are all the same. Not sure if something is wrong with mine or the 3 buttons are for show but I'll take off a star for it. The while there is a greater draw than my previous vent the air seems to oscillate some throwing some steam out into the kitchen vice out the vent. I still have had the smoke detector announce that I am cooking when searing meat or sautéing greens. Not as often but more often than I think is necessary. Not worth returning but enough to knock off another star. Install wasn't the simplest. The unit is pretty heavy and the likelihood of holes lining up is pretty much nil. It took a couple of hours and a strong, patient husband and a wife with the power drill to get done. On par with installing any other hunk of stainless steel and a motor under a cabinet. One feature I love the the dishwasher safe baffles. They will occupy the majority of the lower rack but the come out spotless. Let dry and reinstall. Overall I like it but if given the chance to try again I might have picked something else.

overall very impressed with the quality of the product. was a bit of a challenge to install myself but mainly due to the weight. it is slightly quieter than my previous fan but is definitely audible when running. Would recommend, but be aware that there are quieter fans available. however great air movement even on low and very bright lights.

I'm not going to give it 5 stars yet, as I've only had it for a few days. The finish and appearance are excellent. I liken the design to designers like Wolf. Great price, fast shipping. **UPDATE** We've had this for about six months now and it's working well! I replaced the halogen lights with LED's.

So far it is great. Be advised it is not real stainless steel. Light is bright. No loud fan noise. However the fan speeds all seem to be the same. No low to high or high to low. Overall, it is a great buy for look and price.

This is the best range hood we've ever had. It's slightly larger and as a larger inlet for the fan so that it catches all the smoke. On high-speed it's a little noisy but is very powerful. On the lower speeds it's quiet but still works well. The bright halogen light bulbs illuminate the cooking area much better that standard light bulbs.

Seems to vent well enough, though it is very loud and makes rattling noises when running at any speed. Also, the low speed is not much lower than the high speed, and just as loud!
