I specifically bought this rain coat because the hood was detachable, (hate hoods) and it has a silky liner so your shirt doesn't drag through when you slip it on, and because it's light enough, but has some weight to it. I walk dogs every morning for 2.5 hours and I need coverage but not a down or fleece coat which gets too hot. I wasn't sure what size to order as with broad shoulders and a large breast, I generally take a L or XL depending on the cut of the coat. Since people said this ran small, I opted for the XXL and it fits me big enough to wear a hoodie and thick turtleneck underneath during the colder mornings. I could have gotten away with an XL if I just wanted to wear this with a summer top. I like the XXL because I can cinch it in a few inches at the waist and I have lots of shoulder room to throw snow balls or Frisbees, etc. I always keep my coat zipped up and it fits well with plenty of room. With the XXL, the chest is 52 inches and the coat is straight so the waist and hem is also 52 inches. I have more than plenty of room for hips and bending over to pick up toys, etc. The zipper is plastic and glides easily even though it does not have a reverse zipper.. The pockets are easy to fill with dog treats and easy to put my hand in and pull them out in a hurry. The length is perfect to keep the wind out and covers the buttocks fully. The sleeves are a bit long but can be rolled up at the cuff. I wear a sling pack across my chest when I walk and this easily slips over the coat. Happy with the extra chest room. To get the wrinkles out from being packaged, just throw the coat in the dryer with some dryer balls and a wet kitchen towel for five minutes. Happy with the Royal Blue color...something brighter than the everyday grey, black or dark. Have not needed to wash this but I will put it on the gentle soak cycle overnight and hang dry during a sunny day outdoors. Lastly, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a rain coat. It is priced right and I will be happy with it for as long as it holds up. It is sewn well and is sturdy enough for my needs and should last a good long time without breaking the bank. ... show more

I wasn't really looking for a raincoat, rather for a lightweight jacket to wear in the fall. This fit the bill perfectly. The material is great, it looks waterproof without being slick. I usually wear XL - XXL, depending on the cut. The XL in this fit perfectly. It's comfortable without feeling too big. I could wear a sweater under it if I needed to. I got the wine red, and the color is true to the photo. The details make the jacket look much more expensive than it is. While unpacking it, even my husband said it is a nice looking jacket, and he never notices these things! Things I love: - both a zipper and snaps - the striped lining - the detachable hood - the drawstring to customize the fit - the feel of the fabric - the stretchable cuffs - the fit We're still in summer weather, but I look forward to actually having something appropriate to wear this fall - instead of wearing a hoodie to work! ... show more

I was skeptical that this coat will do good in the rain, but it proved me wrong. It did great. Its keeping me dry. I purchased a size L bc of my bigger boobies, it did fit a little big on me, but I did not want it to be too snug. I normally wear a size M. I absolutely love this raincoat. It is very well made. However, size small was recommended for me and it is huge on me. Love the bright yellow color. Love the length. Love the removable hood and the inside tie to give the waist more definition. And I really like the fitted cuffs. With all that being said, I am 5'4", 115 lbs., 36A bust and this coat is swimming on me. And the saddest part is that an extra small is not offered. If you can find a color you love in your size, then I think you will really like this jacket. Sizing is off. ... show more

purchased when the price was reduced for black friday and very glad that i did. i have had many compliments on the fit and look of the jacket even though i spent very little. i have found the material to be more wind-resistant than i would have expected which is very welcome in the pacific northwest. i have not been in any significant rain so that's why i gave it only 4 stars. we'll see how it does, but i have hope. what i like best: 1. the tailored look 2. the option to snap or zip the closure 3. the olive green color that i chose which just works 4. the square pockets with snaps that hold a cell phone or thin wallet 5. the cuffs that snug around the wrist area 6. the detachable hood. without the hood, the collar stands straight up around the neck, like a tall Mandarin collar, which i like. 7. the striped lining which is not fabric, but a polyester or something. i was worried it was textile which would have been harder to keep clean. 8. the option to cinch the waist or not what i don't like: 1. the hood is pretty large, so i have removed it. i will re-attach for rainy days. would have been nice to be able to roll it around the collar to store when not in use but a minor detail. ... show more

Love the color and I was so happy with this jacket especially with all the rain we've been having. Until both snap buttons on the pockets came off. Now I am only using the zipper on the jacket because I'm afraid the snap buttons will come off the jacket and leave a whole.

This jacket definitely fits description. I get compliments frequently on it. It fits true to size and you can fit a sweater under it comfortably. It’s not 100% rain proof so I wouldn’t be wearing it in a down pour but it does the trick on a misty Seattle day. Draw string on the inside is a little long but other than that no complaints other than it wouldve been even better if it had an inside pocket though! ... show more
