My husband works the night shift, so we needed to make our bedroom as dark as possible to help him sleep better during the day. We worked together and knocked the project out quickly. I read other reviews and saw pics of the product installed, so I opted to iron (low heat setting!) the material before cutting and installing. The creases came out easily. We cut the adhesive strips that were included to put the pieces in more places around the window's edge. There were a couple places where the strips came off the window. This probably had more to do with user error rather than bad adhesive. We cleaned the window before, but maybe not good enough in those spots. As far as the product goes, it 100% keeps light out wherever it's installed. And the material is thin, so it's easy to cut and work with. We have a TON left over, so we could put this on several more windows if we wanted. You get a lot for the price. We are very pleased. Our learnings from this project and using the blackout material would be that having adhesive around the entire edge of the material would ensure no light comes through. In some places where we don't have an adhesive strip, the material lifts up just a tiny bit, but it allows light to come through. Also, having silver on the back side makes it look a little funny. My husband says it looks like we have foil in our windows.... But, we installed these on the back of the house, so it's not affecting the look of our house from the street. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase and would buy it again.

These Portable Blackout Curtains - (157" x 59") / Blackout Shades were easy to cut to size, and are an excellent product! They solved my problem - too much glare coming into my room where I have an artist studio and computer monitors, and cannot see artwork. They keep the glare out and also keep my room cool by reflecting the sunlight on hot days! Great company also, very fast delivery and great customer service!

We put these up on the windows behind additional blackout curtains to get our room as dark as possible for naps. Our baby is only in our room for the first 6 months so we wanted something that was easy to put up and take down without breaking the bank. These provide a more complete blackout if installed correctly and do a nice job overall. Buy extra double sided tape so you can completely seal the window.

I am so happy that I bought this! I had moved and our blackout curtains weren’t working well enough with a bigger window. I had looked into ordering custom shades but the price was outrageous for the size of our window. I came across this and decided to give it a try. It was very easy to put up with two people and has blocked all light from coming through. I haven’t tried removing it and putting it up again but I am so happy with how well it has worked.

Living in AZ, where Daylight Savings Time is not observed, it gets light VERY early (think 5:00) in the morning. Being retired, I do not want to get up at that time!!! So I ordered this fabric for the sliders in my bedroom. The fabric was too short for the sliders--I knew that when I ordered--but I was able to piece large panels together with my sewing machine in a matter of minutes. Super-easy to install! I had some smaller pieces left over, and I was even able to cover the skylight in the master bathroom. My bedroom is now like a dungeon--and that's a good thing.

The media could not be loaded. The Velcro is weak and does NOT stay on. I got tired of constantly pressing it down every day and still getting light pour out from the sides so I investing in black tape(you can get any color from any hardware store). Now it’s perfect! Not even the air conditioner unit affects the darkness.

Installing wasn't easy, especially since I have partitioned windows. Yet, once I got it installed, It is DARK in my room. These windows are RIGHT in front of the sun and look at how dark it it in my room. Highly recommend.
