  • Great for getting usable battery life out of the 4K or 6K
Like anyone with a BMPCC 4K/6K the battery life was and can still be a bit frustrating. Since I didn't want to keep hot-swapping the canon batteries and shoot away from an outlet I decided to buy this battery solution. There are plenty of alternatives out there for powering this camera, but this one is simple and reliable. If you want to get set-up in very little time than this thing is almost as fast as putting in the cannon batteries with 3x the battery life. However, I will say that if you plan on getting the most out of your BMPCC you might want to invest on rigging out your camera and using something like a V-mount battery. A rig will set you up with a lot of things that could help with operating your camera, and the V-Mount system is really the easiest way to get more operating time and to keep track of battery life (given that the BMPCCs tend to be shotty when reporting battery life). Overall, if you can't afford or simply don't want all the rigging, and want a solution that will work for your needs right now, with the smallest profile/form factor, this thing works. If I just want to do a quick shot of something on my tripod and I'm losing light I just throw this on and go. ... show more

  • Must have but expensive.
A must have for the BMPCC 6K because of battery life but it is very pricey and doesn't come with any batteries.

  • Defective item upon delivery
This was defective out of the box. It wouldn’t work … it actually was draining the camera battery faster than if the pack wasn’t on it. I have never had an issue with returns with Amazon until now. I used the label provided - no tracking. I’ve never gotten an email update from Amazon. Everything else I returned that day I got emails for and my refunds have been processed. Amazon nor the seller can tell me what is going on or where it is. I had to purchase a working one from another seller so I am out double the money and am worried now about getting refunded. Dealing with Amazon and this seller has me reconsidering using Amazon for anything other than cheap, day to day essentials. ... show more

  • Not as stated
In description, it says it runs off 2 L batteries. It runs off of 2 NP-F570 batteries, which are the ones that tend to be used with some lights and other cameras than the common canon camera battery of LP-E6.

  • Non-slip grip missing
I went with a Blackmagic grip over a 3rd party thinking it would be better quality. I was very disappointed to find the rubber grip on one of the corners was missing. It looks like they are going to make me pay for return shipping too. Don't buy this product. Look for it from a more reputable reseller or Blackmagic Design themselves if possible. ... show more

  • Not sure how I feel
It's a pretty vital item depending on how you look at it. Normal BMPC4K batteries last like 20 minutes and this extends it to maybe an hour. Like another reviewer said, it doesn't come with batteries and it feels super cheap. Absolutely does not need to be as expensive as it is. It's a shame more 3rd party companies haven't come out with a cheaper alternative. This grip also makes most cages for the camera virtually useless. So it's really a toss up. You get more battery life, yes, but that's about it. ... show more

  • TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY, BETTER OFF BUYING POWERBANK, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT
IT DOES NOT COME WITH BATTERIES, SO YOU WILL WASTE AN EXTRA $60-100 dollars. DOES NOT GIVE ANY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REMOVE CAMERA BATTERY CAP SO YOU CAN PLUB THIS IN. TRY REACHING OUT TO THE SELLER, GOOD LUCK IF YOU GET A RETURN. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
