Too bad Black Diamond really went CHEAP on this one.. I have had Black Diamond headlamps for over 15 years that were awesome.. this one was garbage. I took 2 of these, brand new out of the box, on a Grand Canyon river trip last week.. first use the red night vision failed and no longer working at all on either of the 2 that I bought and brought along. One went out right away and the other lasted a couple hours before failing. Had I not thrown away both of the boxes, I would be returning these without a doubt. Not worth it! ... show more

    • Worked great for 3 days then stopped working.
Got 2 of these for a 7 day rafting trip through the grand canyon and the first one stopped working on the 3rd night with the second failing on the 5th night. Changed the batteries, removed the batteries, etc but no luck. Its very dark at the bottom of the grand canyon so this was a problem, not to mention a disappointing surprise... Suggest a trip to LL bean..... ... show more

    • Battery Tab Broke
I went to replace the batteries in mine between hikes and the plastic tab holding the back case snapped off. I've had it for about a month... The plastic tab is made from a different plastic than the rest of the case, making the joint really weak.
