I replaced the previous model with this one due to the added blue and green lights and slightly higher mah. I'm very happy with the colors, brightness and fit/feel of it. I had to work outside all night last night and the bugs were something terrible. I turned it to the brightest the red light would go and was able to work without them bothering me. After a full night of work, it was still at 2/3 lights on the battery. My ONLY slight complaint is that they didn't put a C charger on it. The micro's are getting phased out and I just want to switch to all C's and stop having to keep another type of cable hooked up all over, lol. Not worth lowering a star though, and I'd definitely still recommend!

The media could not be loaded. Small, lightweight, easy to adjust, extremely bright (and dimmable) and I love that it’s rechargeable via USB rather than replacing or recharching batteries. I generally wear them three nights a week for about a hour, and store them in my car where they get quite hot in the Arizona temperatures, yet I only have to recharge them about every two months or so. Picture of small skinny baby rattlesnake that I parked next to unknowingly at my barn a week or so ago. Thank goodness I always put the headlamp on before getting out of my car or I might have stepped on this creature. (Note: it was in full torpor so I was able to safely move it with a very long shovel and walk a third of a mile away from the property, into the desert, where I placed it under a cluster of cacti so it could live to see another day far from the horses. And yes, the headlamp certainly helped me safely do this for all concerned!)

At first use, this seemed like a great headlamp. Easy brightness adjustment, very bright on full, red light is great for buggy conditions, long battery life. But unfortunately it has one serious flaw. When you turn the light off, the little blue battery status / charging lights on the side stay on for 4-5 seconds. This "feature" is a scourge for nighttime wildlife watching. For example, say I'm trying to call up owls. If I have my headlamp on (say, I'm fiddling with recording equipment) and one calls nearby, I need my light off NOW, not 5 seconds from now. Those faint blue lights make you highly visible to an animal with night vision, perhaps even more so that the normal bright headlamp, which may reduce their night vision temporarily. This is a problem with most nocturnal mammals or birds: that five seconds of faint light (bright to them) tips them off exactly where you are, just when you are trying not to be seen. Now I have to stick a piece of duct tape over the charging lights on my expensive new headlamp—and take if off whenever I charge it. Not an issue for everyone, of course, but a big deal for me. And, I would suspect, any biologist who works at night. If that describes you, don't buy this headlamp.

I have had a number of head lamps through the years and this one is the best. It is sturdy, easy to use, and it is very comfortable. The battery life is very impressive. Took it on s trip, used it for two weeks, and never ran out. This is one great light!

I had purchased this product for running, and was very excited to use it because I liked the design and overall aesthetic. However after receiving it, the first thing I noticed was that it was quite uncomfortable on the forehead. The other issue I had with this is that despite being 400 lumens, it wasn't very bright, and the flood light feature was hardly a floodlight. Couple this with the price, and I didn't think it was a very good investment. If you are looking for a headlamp for running, I recommend the BioLite 425 because it is insanely comfortable, and super bright.

I never would have thought I would pay so much for a headlamp, but I'm happy with my purchase so far. The light is extremely bright and stays that way during my two-hour walks in the middle of the night. No more changing batteries every several days.
