I kid you not. I have gone through about 5 ac units in the past year. My house has been atleast 80 to 85 degrees every summer since we bought it 5 yrs ago, and that's with central air. I've barely had to use the medium or high setting with this window unit. It keeps my whole house cool and it's 2 stories 1500 Sq feet. It's not silent, but it's not at all loud either. It's also helped my electric bill, since the central air doesn't have to work as hard.
