I am very satisfied with this product. I chose to wait a while from the date I received it; until I had had it long enough to know it well. I'm using it as a four slice toaster more than anything else. It toasts bread very well. You can spend this much for just a toaster; so to get something this useful is a real plus. It toasts bread evenly and since you can see whats going on; it's easy to choose a setting that suits you best. I've also used it to heat frozen entree's and it does a great job of that. It even will bake the type biscuit that comes in tubes (Sorry, I can't think of another way to describe them). I love the idea of having a small appliance that works just like a oven. While I was reading other reviews before buying my own oven; I noticed some complained about this product getting to hot. And that it could even be a fire hazard. I tested this by putting a single facial tissue on the top of the oven while cooking something at 450 degrees. The case does get hot; how could it not. Absolutely nothing happened to that tissue. I wouldn't recommend storing anything plastic on top of it; but otherwise this is safe product to use. It looks good, works well, is easy to use; what more could you ask? I would recommend this to anyone as a good product. My only complaint is that the sound that the timer emits is not loud enough for me; and I have not found any way to change that. I wish they had thought to include a setting for that. But that is far from a deal breaker. ... show more

2.5 year update: We were never able to fix or replace our full size range so this and a single electric burner have been the permanent replacements. It still works as if it were brand new. We've now cooked everything from toast to pizza to whole chicken to dessert in this thing and never had any major problems. We found that some food needs to be turned halfway through cooking or you get almost burnt in the back and under cooked in the front. Probably because the design allows for air around the glass door. Yes, the unit gets hot. No different from any other cooking appliance, really, and should not be used by kids. Always be careful cooking with oily, fatty, greasy food because if it gets on the heating elements, it WILL cause a fire. 1 year later: Just cooked my first whole chicken! I had to cook it for longer than package said but it came out great. :-) We're still using this oven as our main cooking source. It gets used almost daily and the only thing I have yet to figure out is how to clean around the heating elements. But, it cooks great still! I just use a cover for anything greasy so it doesn't get on the elements. ______ Original review My gas range died on me and I decided to get this until we can replace it. It's been so nice to be able to bake and broil again! It's very easy to use, really does fit a 12" pizza, easy to clean, heats up quickly - even to broil! My favorite function is the beeping and auto-shutoff when you're timed food is done. I always forgot to turn the old oven off after baking, now I don't have to worry. I purchased a 12" pizza pan ($6 cheap one) & a 4 piece cooking set (chicago metallic) separately and they both fit this oven. The rubber part of one back foot was missing but came otherwise in perfect new condition. I have it set on the cast iron grates of my broken range so the missing foot piece wasn't an issue for me. ... show more

We've used the preceding model of this toaster oven from B&D for the past seven years. It was getting a little tired; taking too long to get up to high 300's and low 400's temps and the toasting required lengthening the time setting. Unboxed the this new one yesterday (thanks Amazon for that speedy Prime 2 day delivery) and put it to work and now the old oven function (which we loved) is back and working like new - which it is! Have enjoyed this oven due to it capacity (8 slices of bread/takes a 9 x 13 baking dish), ease of use (push button controls are a snap to use), electronic timer function always worked (no mechanical wind up controller). Unit is attractive and light enough in weight to easily move around if needed. At the price it is a great bargain; I was investigating a supposedly improved model from another manufacturer but after reading the abysmal product reviews on how poor the reliability was and at a price almost 3 times more than this B&D I decided to just go with our past model experience and purchase another. Really like toaster ovens for their convenience; ours is used almost daily for toasting, baking, and reheating items much more than a large oven. In my opinion you would be hard pressed to beat this B&D model for its capacity, easy of use, reliability, and pricing. ... show more

Clearly a savings (so you don't heat up your entire kitchen)! Easy to clean, especially with a melamine sponge i.e., "eraser, etc. Only thing I would have to give it a "point off" for is the "typesetting" on the "settings" is small! (See photo) I made labels for mine! After 6 years, the price has doubled and I am searching to see if there is a replacement for the convection motor, as it is starting to make a little noise. It may be the fan! We will see. If you put just a spritz of oil on the the trays before using, everything comes off clean! ... show more
