The Lithium AdvantageBLACK+DECKER's 40-volt lithium-ion system offers numerous benefits over older battery technologies and gas options, notably the ability to put more power into a small and compact battery. Lithium batteries have a longer lifecycle than other types, and they also hold their charge longer when taken off the charger. This means that once charged, a lithium battery is always ready to use. The included Energy Star-rated fast charger fully recharges the battery in about 1 hour.Clears All Types of DebrisIdeal for hard surfaces like patios, decks, walkways, driveways, and garages, the Sweeper/Vac has an efficient design and a 120-mph air speed to make quick work of debris. And it easily converts to vacuum mode, enabling you to quickly clear your yard or patio (not recommended for use in the grass or flower beds). It features Power Command controls for adjusting speed for maximum run-time or maximum power. The blow tube has a built-in scraper that enables the Sweeper/Vac to loosen matted leaves and stuck-on debris.Lightweight for Comfortable, All-Day UseWeighing in at just 5.4 pounds, this blower is light enough for anyone to use for extended periods. • It sucks good
Before I purchased, I knew that a battery-powered leaf blower wouldn't be the strongest to blowing. It works, but even with my modest expectations I was underwhelmed. I don't know why they bothered with the speed dial, I always have it on maximum. As far as the leaf sucking abilities, I'm quite happy. I needed to remove some leaves from a roof, and raking the leaves or simply blowing the leaves off the roof is not a option. The sucking works quite well, and made the job significantly easier. If you have a lot of leaf blowing to be done, you probably want a different blower. But if there's only a moderate blowing to be done, and you can really benefit from the suction, it's a good tool. ... show more

  • Great outdoor tool
We have MANY blooming plants around our pool and deck. I love the fact that this tool can be used to blow off the deck or vacuum the deck. When the bloom fall is heavy I use this as a vacuum at least once a day because it's easy and efficient. The battery lasts plenty long for me to clear the deck and driveway (appx 1200 sq feet). The battery recharges super fast so never a problem for me. I'm a 62 year old woman and I find this lightweight and very easy to use. ... show more

  • Bought this 7 years ago and still going strong!
Remembered that I bought this here and in fairness wanted to leave a tested review. It's been 7 years and this is a champ. Have to be cognizant of items that will jam up rotor, and for gravel you will have to angle the tip up to pour the rocks back in, shut off, then turn back on to throw them into the bag - but overall this is just awesome. Note: I only use this for vacuuming, never blowing. This includes small twigs and various debris outside. ... show more

  • good cordless
Overall this works well. The battery lasts 30-40 minutes on a full charge. The instructions suggest to leave the battery charing 24/7 and indoors to maintain best charge. It doesn't suck up as well as corded ones but that is to kind of be expected.

  • Short life charge
I like this but the battery doesn’t last long enough. Also it would be nice if it had a shoulder strap.

  • Great for cleanup after mowing
This product has worked quite well for quick clean up after mowing and edging the yard. I have found the blower to be more useful than the vacuum. The 40 volt (or 36 volt, this is the same unit and battery apparently, just a marketing rebadge) battery is more than sufficient for my yard. I would estimate it gives you about 20-25 minutes of "on" time, so if you turn it off and on as you walk between areas it will last pretty well. I do intend to get another battery, possibly buying another tool in the same system (since the batteries are a majority of the tool cost anyway). It is definitely way more efficient to blow the grass clippings off the sidewalk than sweeping is, cutting down my total yard care time. I just got it mid-summer so I have not had it for a fall leaf season. I don’t see it having the oomph to get through a yard’s worth of fall leaf clean up. I would say this on battery duration and raw vacuum power. The blower function could assist in clearing out mulched beds and getting leaves into a pile, but the vacuum is not powerful enough for bulk pickup. My neighbors have a very large tree that drops leaves about the size of an adult hand (it’s a cottonwood I believe), the vacuum struggles to effectively suck many of these leaves up. Instead I use the vacuum for some minor cleanup around the pool and smaller leaves. During the summer my large dog seems to shed enough hair on a weekly basis that it seems he should be completely bald. He hangs out on the covered back porch a lot creating clumps of hair that clusters around everything. The vacuum works fantastic on this type cleanup, making quick work of ‘sweeping’ the back porch. My one design complaint for this product relates to the blower ‘mode.’ If you look at the product photos for this setup the intake for the fan is on the left side of the unit. This intake actually pops off and is where the vacuum tubing connects. In all the product pictures the users are enjoying nice cool fall weather while cleaning leaves so they are wearing jeans. I am in Texas where right now, in August, mid 90’s are considered a ‘cold front’ I do my yard work all summer in gym shorts or similar. I also happen to be right-handed. The intake is perfectly positioned to suck your loose shorts up against it, blocking airflow and requiring you to tug the unit away. The grate over the intake prevents anything from happening, but it is an annoyance requiring you to hold the blower out to the side or front of your body and to be careful when swinging it back and forth. I don’t think there is a way to fix this as on the opposite side of the unit the motor body sticks out 4”-5.” My suggestion is that perhaps the removable cover could be a 90 degree directional port pointing forward or backward or a swivel that lets the user decide. Overall I am very happy with the usability of this product, its light weight, and does what I need. For quick yard cleanup work the lack of a cord is very convenient. If you live amongst a large number of trees and need to regularly pick up leaves you would likely be better off with a corded model. ... show more
