I required a short-term solution for a non-functioning oven and stovetop, and, not possessing a microwave, I selected this based on brand name and price, as well as advertised cooking possibilities. I wasn't sure how I'd like it with the analog buttons rather than digital settings, but I've been quite pleased with this appliance. It toasts, defrosts things in a short amount of time, cooks just as thoroughly as a standard oven, and accommodates a large number of different cooking needs, while not sacrificing counter space. It even sports an actual bell rather than a digitized beep once the timer has finished, and shuts off as soon as the timer expires, minimizing the worry about overcooking or not being able to quickly shut off the appliance while occupied elsewhere. I have it cook me a prepackaged toaster item for breakfast while I'm in the shower. I cook frozen burritos by setting it at lower temperature for ten minutes to defrost, and a higher temperature for roughly twelve minutes to thoroughly cook the item. I've toasted sandwiches, made grilled cheese, I even succeeded at air-fried potato slices the other day.     • Basic. Simple. Works.
I've been wanting a toaster oven for simple stuff, like warming up frozen rolls, broiling an open faced sandwich, etc. Nothing fancy. Not looking to roast a chicken, bake a cake, etc. Just something for when a microwave won't do (you need crispy) and you don't want to heat up the whole kitchen by firing up a big oven (especially during the summer in Florida). This little appliance does the trick. Heats up instantly, no pre-heating. Melts the cheese on an open faced sandwich in just a couple of minutes. Has a crumb tray for easy clean up. The controls are super basic. I mostly use the toaster timer, which makes a hilariously retro ticking sound (apparently it uses an old-fashioned mechanical timer), and just watch through the glass window to see when things are done, since cook time is usually just a couple of minutes for what I'm doing. No digital displays or controls. Really basic. Which also means really inexpensive. Controls weren't immediately intuitive, but by "immediate" I mean that it took me all of a minute or two to figure out how to make the toaster oven do what I wanted. Simple. I already have a full-size oven for serious baking, so I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars and take up a lot of counter space for a fancy appliance. This simple, small, inexpensive toaster oven is just what I needed -- basically a horizontal, enclosed toaster, just like I remember from the good 'ol days. ... show more

This is a great little machine. It is a smaller size, is relatively easy to clean and cooks things very well. The toast mode is pretty good once you figure out how toasty you want your bread. The air fry is great. I have used it a few times and it does a good job. Baking also works well. It does get hot in those baking and air frying modes, and so I have it sitting on a hot plate and away from the wall. It is a good buy and I would recommend it. ... show more

    • Air Crisp is impressive.
We have always liked the small footprint of the B&D oven, but with the Air Crisp it’s even better. Impressive how quickly and how well it crisps fries, a slice of cold pizza, etc. Counter space was a premium so we have ditched our big Ninja air fryer, since we only used it sparingly.

This replaced my 27 year old toaster oven which was also a Black and Decker. Hope this one lasts as long. Controls are simple knobs and I am curious about the airfry feature. Never had one before. The toaster and oven mode work well even though I burned my first piece of toast. The removable crumb tray is a nice feature. The old one was hinged from the bottom so I ended up dumping burned crumbs all over the counter whenever I cleaned it. For the price point it is an excellent value. ... show more
