I agree with Jay’s review in September 2023 which is why my review title emphasizes sweeper. It is a lightweight cordless sweeper. Use it where you would use a push broom or regular broom. Sweep clippings off the driveway and sidewalk, sweep drive leaves off the deck, sweep light debris from the garage, etc. You wouldn’t use a broom to sweep wet leaves, you wouldn’t use a broom to blow leaves into piles on your lawn, likewise, this sweeper is the same. There is plenty of wind power to sweep things you’d normally use a broom for yet it takes much less effort. And, while it is noisier than a broom, it is far quieter than all of the gas blowers and electric blowers. Be patient, let the tool do its job, be willing to bend over once in a while to get that one stubborn leaf stuck between deck boards, and enjoy the ease and convenience of a lightweight, well-built, quiet cordless sweeper. ... show more

I'm tired of reading negative reviews that boil down to: "This $75 sweeper doesn't perform like a $250 leaf blower." This sweeper is a light duty product designed for quick clean up of garages, sidewalks, driveways, and porches, and it does those things quite well. It is NOT a leaf blower and is not advertised to be one. As far a battery life, I have used it for at least 35 minutes without having to recharge. Who in the world is going to spend more than 35 minutes tidying up the sidewalk, front porch, etc.?" Again, this is a great value for the price. Clearly stated that this is for sweeping hard surfaces, not leaves or grass clippings off the lawn. Power is very good for this purpose. I would prefer a momentary switch to control the power. As long the provided switch lasts, I'll be very content with this purpose. The light weight is a definite plus. I use the B&D 20V batteries for a string trimmer and another device. Some of my existing batteries have a higher mAh rating, making run time for the blower even longer. ... show more

Style: Cordless Sweeper
Will this blow leaves in a yard in fall? No. Will it blow dust in a shop and sweep your shop? Yes. Will it remove leaves from a porch or walkway? Yes. If you already have some black and decker you can snag an extra new battery to keep your other stuff going too. The turbo mode should almost be default, but maybe for "dusting" the garage or shed out the lighter mode could be useful. I'm happy with it, no cord and no gas, no pull start. If you have a big yard, I recommend a gas powered backpack, those things will blow you down. ... show more

Bought a Worx Gutterpro WA4094 gutter cleaner at the same time as this Black & Decker 20v LSW321 leaf blower. Figured I'd had enough ladder climbing in my 86 years so decided to splurge and go modern. I read all the reviews and couldn't find a gutter leaf blower specific to this B&D, and the description of the Worx Gutterpro said "Universal fits all major brands" so decided to take a chance. Well, received both today and all looked good until I tried to assemble the Gutterpro. It was supposed to be "Universal fits all major brands". Well, it doesn't fit my new B&D blower, so it ain't, no way. Dang! Apparently the mfgr's are relying on the canvas bag (enclosed with it) to do this, but it can not work on this little B&D. For one thing the bag's too big. And no place on the blower to connect a strap, bungee cord or rope. Also, the hard plastic nozzle in the bag is about the same diameter as the output nozzle of the blower and when the bag is pulled on over the nozzle, it won't pull up tight enough to keep the bag from acting like a wet noodle. Impossible for one person to use. Sadly, I decided to send it back. Cancelled the purchase, went thru the process. The Amazon software was very helpful, says I'll get a refund, etc. While packing it up, I took a closer look at the canvas bag. Turned it inside out and saw that the bag was being held onto the plastic nozzle by a cable tie. I found that if I pushed the leaf blower wand of my new B&D blower into the bags nozzle it would go in over half the length of the wand and in that position it was very tight. I then pulled the wand out, clipped the cable tie, used a hacksaw to cut it to the length I wanted, applied some JB Weld epoxy on it for tight sealing and shoved it as far onto the stub of the wand as it would go. Voila! Simple, and I think it'll be very ridgid and all of the pieces of the Gutterpro will snap on as they were intended to. Don't yet know if the B&D blower will be be strong enough, but we'll see. I'm going to try to upload some pic's with this. We'll see how that goes. Keep in mind, I haven't tested this yet, I'll let the JB Weld set till tomorrow or the next day before testing. I'll try to get back and give the results once that happens. This probably won't be a fix for everybody due to the different configurations of the many blowers, but it's quick and simple, almost anyone could do it if their existing blower wand will fit inside the bag's nozzle. Update: I'm pleased to say this works just fine. The little blower is just strong enough to lift the dried leaves up and out of the gutter (didn't blow all over me) and it's light enough for me to handle with at least 3 of the wand extensions being used (maybe with all four), but I only needed three. Did the whole house in less than 30 minutes instead of two hours and best of all didn't have to carry or climb a ladder! ... show more

I bought this for a quick and easy way to blow the use and lawn clippings off our walkway. Saves time and my back from hauling out the much heavier plug in leaf blower. Not too good for heavy or encrusted debris. But, as I said, it works for the purpose I bought it for.

    • Kind of a mixed bag

Bought this because I wanted a sweeper to use after mowing. I have a number of other B&D 20volt tools so have batteries and chargers. The sweeper is light and easy to use. It has 2 velocities which is helpful. For what I bought it for it worked kind of well. It would clear off cut grass off the drive reasonably well. Now that leaves are starting to fall it really does not do a great job of moving even small amounts. For the past couple of years we have had a snow or two of the ultra-lightweight dry snows that i have been able to just sweep. I wonder if this sweeper will be able to perform that task easier and more quickly. ... show more
