  • Excellent
Great item. Works well on bedroom carpets

  • Perfect for Fluffing trafficked carpet
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely a must for fluffy carpet back up. We have been in our house for 4 years now and the carpet was brand new but had some wear tracks from traffic. This took the matted carpet right out and made it fluffy again. I found it helpful to take it in each direction for the best results! It also takes up small crumbs that the sweeper couldnt get and I just sweeper them up after raking! The carpet looks so good now! Build quality: The quality is really good as well. The bristles are strong and handle is strong. ... show more

  • Eh, it works as you would expect. Fluffed my old dingy carpet temporarily.
My carpet is old and needs to be replaced. This helped fluff the fibers and also raked out dog hair, though I wasn't as impressed as I hoped I would be. All in all, it serves its purpose and does what you would think it would. Reason for 4 stars: The handle sucks, It falls apart easily. Its made in separate pieces, i think to make shipping easy, but it is not strong once put together. Luckily, I used an old broom handle and it solved my problems. ... show more

  • So far, so good!
I’ve been ready to rip my carpet up it’s so flat, matted, and ugly and it’s less than 3 years old! I ran across a video on TikTok from a professional carpet cleaner but he used a more expensive brand. After reading reviews on both I decided to give this one a shot. Worst case scenario, I was out $18. It was delivered at 8:30 pm last night but I could not wait to try it! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use (pull it in towards yourself, don’t try to push it forward). I tested a small area that gets the highest traffic. It may be hard to tell from the pictures but it looks almost new again. There was a very small, VERY flat area in the carpet that didn’t come back up much, but I’ll take it! My only concern is the durability of the handle. It seems a bit flimsy but I will update my review as I’ve used it more and done the whole house! If it can do my entire house then it’s money well spent! ... show more

  • Very good...
I like this rake as it has a 3 piece handle. As it turns out there are places like stairs where the full length handle is awkward to use. The only concern I have is how well the combs will hold up. My previous rake (well over 10 years old) had combs that were a little bit more rigid and they never broke, they simply wore down a little from use so I thought it was time to replace. So far I haven't had any issues with the new one and it seems to rake the carpet well. So it's unfair to say it won't hold up long term. I'll update the review in a couple of months after I've had chance to use it around the house on all the carpets and rugs. BTW, a carpet rake is a great tool. I've never had one rip out any threads etc and they absolutely do bring the spring back into carpets and rugs. I also found that if I vacuum a carpet/rug and them rake, just before I use my Bissel carpet shampooer, that really helps a huge deal in cleaning deep. I should also note I have not tried a rake on a shag pile carpet. So I cannot say if it would work on one of those. UPDATE: After 2 weeks usage I docked 2 stars. The rake does work and works well but the 3 part handle locking design is a really poor design. Considering the effort you need to rake a carpet, no way this handle would hold up for long. In my case, the top section on mine keeps popping out. I've tried tightening more but too much effort and it pops out also. Maybe I just have a "bad" one. This looks like a standard handle thread so I may look around for a better handle elsewhere but for what the product is, without a solid working handle, it's not what it's advertised to be. ... show more

  • Improves appearance and cleanliness of carpeting
This lightweight carpet rake does a good job of loosening dirt and allergens from carpeting prior to vacuuming - with one caveat. Depending on the age, condition and quality of your carpeting, you might want to use it in conjunction with a heftier rubber broom. In my experience, they work well hand in hand (using the rubber broom first, especially on any matter areas). I had old builder’s grade carpeting that was getting matted in high traffic areas, wanted to prepare the carpet for shampooing, and thought I likely had to replace the carpet soon. Given the plastic connector on this carpet rake head (and some reviews indicating durability issues), I decided to also purchase a rubber broom for carpets, and use that first. I vacuumed both before and after testing both items. It took some elbow grease to first loosen up the matted areas with a rubber carpet broom, but once it did so and I revacuumed that section, I was surprised by how much additional (formerly) ground in dirt my vacuum was able to pick up - and how much better the carpet looked and felt underfoot. I then tried out this carpet rake. It loosened up the fibers still more - and the carpet looked better still! Some carpet areas almost looked new again. :) Vacuuming the treated area a third time, my vacuum picked up more still more dirt (!) - loosened by the longer tines of this carpet rake; the carpet felt even softer underfoot - and it looked even better! It looked good again! Even before carpet shampooing, I realized that since using these two tools, my carpet doesn’t need replacing right now after all. :) I just needed the right tools to help my vacuum better do its job - which then extends the life of the carpet, and helps keep it looking better, longer. I imagine that if you have newer, thicker, better quality carpet, this carpet rake may be all you need. But if you have older, cheaper quality carpeting (mine is 25+ years old builder’s grade carpeting), you probably need both a rubber carpet broom (to help lift any matted fibers first), as well as this carpet rake (for the ‘finishing touches’). It’s sure cheaper than replacing carpet… This carpet rake is very useful during rug shampooing, too, to help separate the fibers so they dry faster and fluffier. I can’t speak to this item’s durability, since it’s nearly new and to date I have used it only a few times. It does have a plastic head and connector, so I wouldn’t press down on it too hard. But IMHO, it’s affordable, and money well spent if it helps keep carpets cleaner, extends their useful ‘lifespan,’ and helps keep them looking better longer. ... show more
