I purchased one of these years ago for my pre-teen, allowing him to maintain clean room and work spaces without having to use the heavier, electric and corded, traditional family vacuum. This "Shark Carpet & Floor Sweeper" works WONDERS!!!! We used that one for several years until it literally died! I recently re-purchased THIS specific item because other brands didn't compare. This one is easy to use, yet it is very durable. It's sturdy enough to withstand the more rowdy usage of children and teens, and its suction ability is wonderful. It works just as well on bare floors as it does rugs and carpet. It is also easy to empty and easy to recharge. The ONLY drawback is that it takes about 7 hours to fully charge from empty battery. I am in a wheelchair so this carpet sweeper is great. It is very light weight and I have no problem vacuuming with it. Turns easy and when done the dirt cup cup comes out with no problem.

1/2/2025: UPDATE! I'm changing rating my from 5 stars to 1 star. Would do 0 stars if that was an option. I've used this for a few months and it's not stopped working. Booooooo. Waste of money. For certain do NOT buy a refurbished one-- which was the only option Amazon offered when I purchased it. Initial Review: Love, love, love this electric, cordless, rechargeable mini-vac. It comes with a simple plug-in cord for re-charging. I can usually get 12-15 uses before having to recharge it. Great value, compact, quiet and easy to store. Used primarily on main floor of house - hardwood and tile with 6 rooms, mudroom & 2 hallway spaces. I use it all the time for quick sweeps on floors and low-pile area rugs. Sweeps up pet hair, grass, dust, dirt very well off of floors. Great for a quick spot-sweep between deep cleans. Seems like Shark is no longer making this-- so snap it up if you find one is my advice. 1st one I owned lasted 7 years👍 ... show more

    • A fine floor sweeper for hardwood flooring
It's a sweeper (note the title) and not a vacuum. It's for scooping up random dropped stuff and debris from the hardwood and tile areas of the floor. Pretty large dust bin onboard that doesn't require continual emptying with each use. Recharges pretty quickly and holds a charge for multiple sweeps around the house. Not a fan of the plug in charger. It's rather fiddly trying to get it in the unit. Long ago I had a shark sweeper and it was simply set on a "charging plate" which was far easier to use. ... show more

It's very good for the price...I wouldn't recommend so much for carpet unless.its the flat kind or smaller rugs but i have dogs and it does great at picking up the dog hair on hard floors and alot easier than using a broom. And since it's cordless you can take it anywhere in the house. The only downside I'd say is that the battery doesn't last very long. Long enough for you to get done what u need but must plug in the charger after each use or it won't work very long the next time u need it. ... show more

The battery must be dead or the vacuum cleaner has a problem it will not charge just getting it ready for use since I had Covid for 3 weeks received 3 vacuums 1 worked #2 won’t charge and #3 had no battery in package couldn’t ask for better when they work

This vaccum is very light weight with very good suction power. Unfortunately the stick handle was broke by accident. I used for more than 6 months. The only cons it is designed to stop when there is hair or threads wraped in it. So you need to clean it frequently during use. But the suctuion power is awesome. ... show more

    • INSTRUCTIONS ARE H ORRIBLE!
Nice big instruction sheet - and it says: QUICK START. Ok, I tried to quick start. Plugged it in since it says to charge it for 7 hours first. Hows where to plug. I did. It didn't. Frustration mounting, I looked frther - OH - that is not an EXTRA battery pack like it appeared to be. YOU HAVE TO INSTALL THE CUSSED BATTERY PACK. These nice INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT TELL YOU THAT. Flipping over to "maintenance" it says to take ot to a small appliance repair shop. NOT LIKELY! Finally, on the back page in very small print and a LOUSY inadequate illustration, I decided I had to do the "maintenance" myself. So ... I couuld NOT REMOVING the battery pack like it says to do because there was none in there. Okay. Let's put this "extra" one in! Easier said than done, my friends. You have to work at it for half an hour after you've plugged it in, and turn it every which way but loose and FINALLY, look at the instructions upside down and sideways and cuss a little. Then try again. Start all over. Still didn't work. You can get the battery pack IN, but cannot close the compartment! Lid won't go on! After losing my religion, I tried again and looking to heaven (literally with eyes to the ceiling) I turned it blindly, broke two fingernails, and finally... it went into place. At last. I AM EXHAUSTED! Turned it on (it worked)) and tried a little vacuuming. Don't know if it works or not because I am TOO upset to care! I guarantee if that battery ever needs to be replaced I will throw this entire vacuum in the dumpster and go buy one at Walmart! ... show more
