Description

The Bixpy K-1 Outboard Kit does not include a mounting adapter. You will need to purchase a mounting adapter separately based on the watercraft you are looking to motorize. The K-1 Outboard Kit is Bixpy's third major evolution of its renowned jet propulsion system—used to motorize thousands of kayaks, paddleboards, dinghies, float tubes, and other personal watercraft over the past five years. This kit pairs the powerful Bixpy K-1 Motor, delivering 33lb of thrust, with the waterproof, wireless PP-378 Outboard Battery (Version 4)—a finely tuned system ready to power nearly any small watercraft on the market. The K-1 Motor is approximately 20% shorter than its predecessor, the J-2, while still offering the same high performance in a more compact, quiet, and rugged aluminum design.Whether you're looking to motorize a kayak, canoe, paddleboard, float tube, dinghy, inflatable pack-raft, or another small vessel, the Bixpy Outboard Kit is your go-to solution. There’s nothing else on the market that delivers such an ultra-light, powerful, and highly adaptable setup designed specifically for water enthusiasts. This kit allows you to stay on the water longer, explore farther, fish more, troll for hours, or effortlessly return to shore after a long day—or when the weather takes a turn. You can update your PP-378 (version 4 with white lights), PP-768 battery, and remote using the Bixpy App—available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The Bixpy Outboard Kit is compatible with watercraft from many leading brands, including Hobie, Old Town, Vanhunks, Hoodoo, Johnny Boats, Perception, Crescent, Oru, Noisy River Outdoors, Jackson, Lightning, Wilderness Systems, Brooklyn Kayak Company, NuCanoe, Kaku, Feelfree, Native Watercraft, Vibe, Viking, Point 65, Riot, Bonafide, Pelican, Gili, iRocker, Isle, Bote, Bluefin, Scout, Atoll, Kokopelli, Sea Eagle, 3 Waters, Akona, Malibu, and many more.

  • Absolutely exceeds all of my expectations. Ridiculously great battery life!
Ever since joyriding in a canoe with a battery outboard motor way back in the 80s, I've wanted a small motor on a kayak or SUP. I finally figured... let's do it, and bought a Bixpy K-1. I was initially attracted to the cheaper options on Amazon, but dang, the battery life of those options are tiny... maybe 20 minutes at best? I researched alternatives, and even thought about creating my own system. There are videos on Youtube, and I have the skills to do it. But then I came across the Bixby K-1 and figured it was worth spending the money to "do it right". I have a cheap (but awesome) inflatable SUP that I bought 3 years ago, and it now has new life thanks to my Bixby. This thing is AMAZING. I've had it out for 3 sessions so far this season, and I am astonished at the battery life! Seriously. I am not exaggerating. Yesterday I went out for nearly 3 hours at a whole range of speeds, but mostly running at speed 6, which I like because it is powerful and quiet. The battery unit was behind me for my entire journey, so I didn't get to really look at it until I was getting out of the water. I was BLOWN AWAY that my battery was still 90% full. I still can't understand it. Before making my purchase, I was contemplating getting the very large Bixpy battery instead of the "small" one. I'm glad I went with the "regular" battery, because it is plenty! I do wish, however, that Bixpy had put more thought into the battery case! It is not friendly with regard to mounting on a SUP. The holes in the corners are needlessly tiny. You cannot, for instance, put a standard carabiner through these holes. There's no reason why they couldn't have put a bunch of attach points or rails or something on the case. All you've got to work with are 4 tiny holes and a handle. My SUP only has a fabric hand hold at the rear and then two small D-rings a third of the way from the back. I use paracord and to rig up the battery, but it is more difficult than it needs to be. Also regarding the battery case... the power attachment points are (once again, needlessly?) wedged under a lip that makes it strangely difficult to put your fingers in there to screw and unscrew the power cables. Why would someone design it like this? The motor looks like a mini torpedo and is a solid piece of engineering. It slips directly into my center fin slot and fits perfectly. I was worried that the power cable would be a drag issue, but it's not. I kind of bungie it up a bit so it's not dragging in the water. The prop is crazy small for the power that it delivers. Once I saw the size of the tiny prop, I thought oh no... can this thing even move my SUP? Well, it's not fast, but I like it that way. Low and slow baby. It is quite powerful though! I actually towed a second SUP behind me that was carrying two other people. The K-1 pulled us upriver against the wind without trouble. We were slow, but that was part of the fun. When I'm alone on my SUP, I like running at either 4 or 6 speed... and I can just sit, lean back and put my feet in the water like I'm barefoot water skiing. I even tried it Superman style, lying on my stomach and just dragging my arms when a turn is needed. Very enjoyable! I have been running in a marine estuary, and there is some debris in the water. Whenever I feel or hear a difference in the motor operation, I just punch it into reverse speed 2 and it blows out anything that might have caught onto the motor fin. I love this! I was worried about having to somehow reach under to remove debris. Nope. Not an issue at all. Love this motor, and I really hope it lasts a very long time! I can't wait to use it in fresh water at the lake. ... show more

  • Lightweight, powerful, long lasting
Outstanding. After weight and functionality issues with other motor and battery setup, this has been revelation. We'll worth the money for the weight savings and battery longevity. Motoring on the kayak is fun again!

  • Works great
Very quiet at lower speeds, moderate at highest speed, long battery life if kept below the highest speed

  • Fantastic
Purchased to use with the Bote inflatable. What a great difference. In the wind against the wind choppy water. Last all weekend on a single charge.

  • Way more power than expected
This thing makes you move like a jet ski in a kayak! Also the battery lasts a very long time on full power!

  • E-Bike Your Kayak!
With the adapter, this mounts easily on both my Sea Eagle Explorer 420x and 393RL kayaks and basically turns them into "e-bikes"! Battery life has been fantastic. The Explorer I have is massive and we recently used it in windy/choppy conditions. I felt like we were hammering the battery pretty hard running the motor full-tilt... and when we pulled into shore and I looked at the meter on the battery... we still had half left! ... show more

  • Underpowered, more toy than trolling motor
This unit is made well, designed cleanly and yet it does not perform as advertised. The motor/propellor struggles to provide even modest propulsion at the highest setting (tested with a virtually empty Hobie Outback Kayak with 200lb operator). The prop is too small, and the motor/battery voltage is too low. This needs a 52-volt system to make this useful. ... show more
