This item is cute and functions according to expectations. I bought it for my 18-year-old sister to store a cash Christmas gift. She absolutely enjoyed the puzzle, but it only took her a few minutes to open. I was hoping it would have taken her a bit longer, but given the price, I can't really complain. My only criticism of this item is that it's fairly delicate. If someone didn't take proper care while trying to open the box, they could easily break it. Some of the steps involve dislodging tiny wooden pins from their slots, and if this item were given to a child it could easily be accidentally broken. This is NOT a good item to give a young child.

Well made and good for frustrating people who normally don't do puzzle boxes. In terms of difficulty, if you are used to doing 3d puzzles or puzzle boxes this one is relatively easy. But if you are giving this to someone who doesn't normally practice this skill set they will likely have some difficulty with it; but I would give them an 80% chance of solving it given unlimited time. I will warn that depending how it is handled, over time markings or mis-alignments from wear may become visible and give hints on how to solve the box. But this is pretty normal for these type of wooden puzzles. P.S. I used this box as a present to hide tickets for an escape room. It was the final piece of a Christmas present scavenger hunt for my brother and his wife.

My younger cousins are at the age that all they want is money for their gifts. This Christmas I wanted to make the gift experience a little more exciting than opening a card with cash inside. These were perfect. My oldest cousin is quite literally a genius and was able to figure it out in just a few minutes. His brother on the other hand took a little bit longer but they both really enjoyed the challenge.

I have been purchasing these puzzle stash boxes to gift with cash or gift cards. This fits a gift card nicely. The card won’t lay flat but it does fit. Out of all the puzzle boxes I’ve purchased, this is my favorite. It stumps everyone, even those that I feel will figure it out in ten seconds flat. Nope, they’re still puzzled an hour later and haven’t got it opened. That makes it all worth it! If you are looking for a puzzle box to add a little excitement to your gift card or cash, this one is it. This box won’t disappoint, and the price point is fantastic for the amount of fun it delivers!

I bought this as a gift (stocking stuffer) for the boyfriend, he loves brain teasers. I solved it so I could put something cute inside of it for when he solves it. After putting it back together, it’s not as stiff as it was before. Which makes me think he will probably solve it pretty quickly. Craftsmanship could be better. If you look at the corners on the top, you can see the one side isn’t as close / connected as the side that doesn’t open. Good indicator for those who look close enough.

For an inexpensive puzzle/gadget that doubles as a bank this is a really neat item. Each of my kids (12, 10 and 7) enjoyed trying to figure it out and put it back together. At the low cost it is better than expected for entertainment and novelty value. If you are buying for a kid that's maybe 8-11 years old that likes puzzles and magic tricks (or something else related) this could be a neat and unique gift that you could hide another puzzle, trick or gift inside, or even a gift card or money so you're "gifting" a high enough value over just the $12. You won't disappoint if you try this as a gift idea. The inside dimensions are just a bit smaller than the area of a dollar bill and a little over an inch deep (if you'd plan to put something inside).
