  • Every detail you want to know from researching multiple options
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
You know, I looked so long & did so much research, I feel it would just be wrong not to review my new friend Bissell. For details on Bissell Pro specifically~ scroll to end. For research on options, keep reading. I have to say I did not intend to get a carpet or upholstery cleaner. I tried 3 different spots to rent one over a weekend & they were all gone or broken. In sharing my frustration with my mom, she surprised me with the Hoover upright pet cleaner. The thing works pretty good. For a 100 bucks & the small space it uses, worth it. However, what I really needed was upholstery & it does not have attachment options. So here's the rabbit hole I went down for weeks, actually months. Do I exchange for cleaner with attachments? Or get a spot cleaner? Well, every spot cleaner review states, they leak with some horror story of muddy water on a clean carpet. Every cleaner with attachments, other than the industrial size one you need a garage for, which we do not have the room as I live with Fred Sanford, states it doesn't clean as well as a pro. So, the only viable option is both or just a good spot cleaner, if you have smaller areas. Obviously, I went with the Bissell Pro Pet. I could say I Finally decided to try bc it went on sale but truth is, I was going to need professional help, if I read one more ounce of information so, it had to be done. After cleaning all my upholstery, which I am honestly grossed out by how much yuck came out, I can tell you this Bissel Pet Pro is the real deal. The only down side is, it cleaned my couch so well, I now have light patches. So either color was scrubbed off, or dirt was covering the faded spots (Spoiler, it's the 2nd one) DETAILS~ ~Steam? Nope. You can add hot water but just doesn't feel hot as when you spray it out, kinda lukewarm. Plus, most pro soaps will do the job at home so, don't overthink it. ~Sprayer? Yes. You manually control it. It is a spray not a stream so, if you keep moving the hose, the water will not drench. ~Suction. Oh my word, Yes. It's truly horrifying to see the dirt run through the clear nozzle. Quick tip~ Suction over as many times as necessary until you don't see water & will dry quickly. ~Water containers~ Both removable with handles. ~ Dirty water container will hold 2 fills of the clean container. If you run out mid job, add some more clean water & keep going. Can be disassembled to clean inside. Just give the handle a good push to the other side & it will release. ~Clean water container, does drip when removing & refilling. Just some drips so if you know, you're prepared but may be issue in future. Last note, the spot cleaner. I did not have an accident to test it on but, this hockey puck sized nozzle was too fascinating not to try. Pretty sure this thing could've sucked up the cat if she walked by. All in all this is worth every penny. On sale or retail at about $179 right now. As good as a Store rental machine with the space of a large backpack. Also, the cord is long enough to run to do auto detail. Dirty, nasty, work truck auto detail. I would buy the Bissell dinner if I could for the things it's had to see. ... show more

  • Great upholstery cleaner
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
I was using the regular Little Green model to shampoo my couch initially, which worked okay but I wanted something with more suction since no matter how many drying passes I made the couch would still be quite damp to the touch after and take forever to dry. I like how this machine was basically ready to use right out of the box, no assembly or anything. I first tested it on an area where my cat puked on the couch, I sprayed some of the solution on the area first to pre-treat it then proceeded to use this and it cleaned it up amazingly well. I went over the area a few more times to make sure I got up as much of the solution as I could and the area was only slightly damp afterwards. It is louder and heavier than my other Little Green but for the extra suction power I don't mind it at all. It's easy to remove the tanks, the dirty water tank is MUCH easier to clean than the other Little Green one with the wide opening at the top. It's now much faster and easier shampooing my couch with the extra suction, I don't have to spend an extra 20 minutes making drying passes and I find I don't have to press down as hard in order for it to suck up the solution as I did with my old one so my wrist isn't as sore after. So far quite happy with this machine, I'm hoping it continues working well for a long time. ... show more

  • Needs a longer hose.
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
Maybe I bought the wrong tool but I bought this for car detailing on a recommendation from a detailer I follow on YouTube. For that use, the hose is not long enough to reach where I need it in some cars. This is my first extractor I have owned so I’m learning what features I would like if I buy another one but for the price, this really is a good unit. All of my cars are old (18-23 years old) and even though I take very good care of them, when I used this on my 23 year old carpets and cloth seats, the water it was pulling from them was filthy BROWN as it extracted 23 years of wear on my car interior. It left my carpets looking brand new! Like I said, now I know features I would like on an extractor but extractors with those features cost hundreds of dollars more. For what I paid for this unit, I have very little to complain about. It works very well and is very nicely designed to be neatly stored away until you need it again. ... show more

  • Best spot cleaner out there, with issues, but still worth it!
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
I just bought the latest version of this after buying one from Bissell directly many years ago. I have had all the issues people have mentioned, but I have yet to find a portable spot cleaner that does a better job of cleaning carpets, upholstery, etc. The size of the dispenser tank, the dirty water reservoir, and the vacuum suction can not be beaten by any other cleaner, I have tried them all! One of the issues folks complain about is the clogging of the spray head. I have learned that the best way to use this cleaner is to only put PLAIN HOT WATER in the dispenser tank, do not put cleaning solution in it, unless you rinse it well after using solution, you are bound to get clogs. I simply apply cleaning solution from a spray bottle to the carpet, work it into the affected area with the brush on the Bissell unit while it is turned off, then turn it on to go back and forth over the area while applying the hot water, this technique is great, allows you to use multiple cleaners on different types of stains, then throughly clean and rinse the area. (ORIGINAL hose comment) The other big issue, and I have no idea why Bissell has not addressed this, is the fracture of the hose near the wand, it seems to happen to everyone, just a matter of time. I think it is mainly due to the stress put on it when wound up around the spool on the cleaner. Even this can be corrected fairly easily and inexpensively, buy a replacement hose kit, there are videos out there to show you step by step process and the replacement is usually available for a fraction of the cost of a whole new cleaner. ********** (UPDATE on hose issue) I think Bissell has addressed the hose issue, in a positive way. The hose on the one I just received is no longer a clear hose with metal winding inside the hose, but a simple, soft, supple, opaque black plastic hose. Even though this may seem as if Bissell has cheapened the product, I think this hose is going to be more flexible, will last longer over time, not become brittle and break like old hose design, time will tell! ********** My last recommendation, try to get this cleaner as inexpensively as possible, I bought my recent one from Amazon Resale, just make sure you get one that is in Like New or Very Good condition. Hope this helped if you were on the fence on buying this unit. Buy it, follow my guidance and you will be amazed at what it can do! ... show more

  • A Lifesaver for Pet Messes — and Baby Messes Too!
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
I have an elderly Chihuahua, and this cleaner has been absolutely invaluable. Whenever he has an accident or vomits on the carpet, the stains come out completely — it really does restore the carpet to its original condition. The pet attachment is also excellent. I love that it’s designed to trap the dirty water in the attachment head itself, keeping it from flowing back into the hose or the rest of the machine. That’s a really smart design. If I had one wish, it would be for the dirty water reservoir on the attachment to be a little larger. It fills up quite quickly, so I end up having to stop and empty it several times during a single cleaning session. A bigger reservoir would make the whole process much more convenient. We also recently became a first-time grandparents, and when my grandson got sick and vomited on his bed, this came to the rescue again. Of course, I used a baby-safe solution and a separate clean head — not the pet attachment — but it worked beautifully. This machine truly does it all! ... show more

  • You need this!!
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
My baby nephew had a poop blowout on our rug and I was convinced it was ruined. This little machine proved me wrong! It cleaned up the mess so well that you can barely tell anything ever happened. The suction is amazing, it’s easy to use, and it pulled out way more dirt than I expected.

  • Excellent Portable Carpet Cleaner for Pet Owners
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
I just had to share my experience with the BISSELL Little Green Cleaner (Model 1400B). As a pet parent with two very active dogs, I was on the lookout for something that could tackle those inevitable messes on my carpets. Spoiler alert: this little machine did not disappoint! What I Needed With pets around, you know the struggle of keeping carpets clean—spilled food, occasional accidents, and the dreaded muddy paw prints. I needed something specifically for spot-cleaning stains and messes, and this seemed like a perfect fit. Setting It Up Right out of the box, setting up the BISSELL Little Green Cleaner was a breeze. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but this was straightforward and user-friendly. Plug it in, fill up the tank, and you’re good to go. First Impressions I was pretty impressed with its cleaning power. It feels solid and does a great job lifting stains out of the carpet. You can actually see the dirt and grime getting sucked up, which is oddly satisfying! Features I Loved One of my favorite features is the Stain Trapper Tool on the handle. It’s a lifesaver! This tool traps the really nasty stuff (like pet urine or vomit) in a small, separate cup. You can pour it down the toilet without worrying about it contaminating the machine. No more lingering smells—a huge plus! Cleaning Performance It's pretty effective at cleaning different surfaces and types of stains. I’ve used it on everything from spilled coffee to my dogs' messes, and it handled all of it like a champ. I have no complaints here. Maintenance Cleaning and maintaining the machine is pretty simple. You empty the dirty water tank, rinse it out, and you’re done. It’s hassle-free, which I appreciate. The Downside The only issue I encountered was that the handle tended to leak water. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s something to be aware of. I make sure to have a towel handy when I’m using it to catch any drips. Would I Recommend It? Absolutely! Despite the minor leakage issue, the BISSELL Little Green Cleaner has been a great addition to my cleaning arsenal. It’s effective, easy to use, and perfect for pet owners dealing with frequent messes. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable spot cleaner. ... show more

  • Just a water vacuum, cheap brushes, complicated to clean
Style: Spot Clean Pet Pro
Was a little disappointed. I bought for my car, to clean the carpets and the roof inside. In fact it's just a vacuum...with a small spray. Yes I agree, to spray there is a big container but that's it. But in fact I prefer to have a separate spray, I can direct it better to the right place than using this one. The brushes are not working so well, cheap ones. For the vacuum, it does well the job. After it's a little hard to clean well all the parts. Also, to just have a water vacuum, it's pricey, if I knew it, I would buy a stronger water vacuum, a heavy duty one, it would have been more efficient. ... show more
