  • Acid Reflux Relief
Style: Queen
Under Bed 7-Inch Incline Foam Support - Riser for Acid Reflux, This incline foam support works exactly as advertised. It lifts the head of the bed just enough to ease acid reflux and improve sleep quality. The foam is sturdy, doesn’t compress too much, and fits neatly under the frame. Setup takes a little effort, but the results are worth it. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with nighttime reflux. ... show more

  • It 100% helps breathing & acid reflux while you sleep!
Style: Twin
No lie — the night I got this, my sleep score jumped to the high 90’s! Zero acid reflux, zero issues breathing at night anymore. I got the 7 inch because you really want that height. It is super comfortable. Some people said they slid down but I had zero issue with that. It’s nice and firm so it doesn’t mush down. Great support. I hope it lasts because it’s the best single thing I have added to my health in a long time. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Style: Full
I've been sleeping on my "elevated" bed for over three weeks now, and am pleased with it. I've edited the following to incorporate new information. We ordered the 7-inch Full size Avana Mattress Elevator on Monday and it was delivered on Thursday in a 31 x 17 x 9" box that (according to the shipping label) weighed 15 pounds -- quite a manageable size and weight for just about anyone to handle. I wasn't sure whether to expect one whole piece or two halves -- we got two halves, which are definitely easier to carry around than one biggie would be, though I'm more interested in how well they perform. The pieces were very easy to unroll, and expanded to nearly their full size immediately. I could detect no odor whatsoever, but set the pieces in the attic to finish expanding and to outgas for a few days. One piece is very white, like lather, and the other is an extremely pale yellow, though I suppose both may continue to yellow over time. I would very happily have ordered the cloth cover too if the original zipper model was still available. But since previous reviewers say the currently offered cover is basically a fitted sheet, I bought a complete set of sheets for far less money (in a color that coordinates well with the rest of the bedding), and am using one to cover the foundation and the other to cover the elevator foam. I'm quite pleased with the overall visual effect (though, again, I'm more interested in how well the elevator performs). Like many others, I wasn't happy about the bed getting 7" higher (it was too tall already), so we eliminated the metal frame and set the foundation (it's not actually a box spring) directly on the floor. The foam pieces will go between the foundation and the mattress. (My initial thought was to eliminate the foundation instead, but that would have left the foam pieces sitting directly on unfinished plywood, which didn't seem like a good idea.) The new arrival has replaced the wedge pillow that I bought eleven months ago. It worked very well to control my acid indigestion, but as others have mentioned, wedge pillows are not ideal for side sleepers, because one's hips do not cheerfully bend sideways. I'll keep mine, though, for occasions when I'm sleeping elsewhere. Other reviewers have complained that they tend to slide down the bed during the night. I do occasionally notice that I'm a little further south than when I went to bed, but that sort of thing hasn't been an actual problem the way it sometimes was when I would slide down the wedge pillow. I'm still free of the acid indigestion, which had been striking me in the late evening, on the average of a few days every-other week. I still have no idea how sleeping in a different position has any effect on what my stomach does a few hours earlier (or, perhaps more accurately, over a dozen hours after I get up), but am not complaining! I hadn't gotten the elevator for that purpose, but rather because if I burp when lying flat, I often burp up some stomach acid. It's nice not to feel the need to sit up if I feel a burp coming on at night, and even nicer to know that if I happen to burp in my sleep, that'll be OK too. Oddly enough, I never noticed any chronic sort of acid reflux till shortly *after* I started using the elevator, but I'm virtually certain that was caused by something else that I started doing about the same time. Fortunately, I find that avoiding tomatoes has virtually eliminated that problem for now, though hopefully I'll be able to reintroduce them once I deal with the other thing. [Added 10 Oct 25: I dealt with that 8 months ago, and since then have been eating tomatoes with no problem.] As I continue using the Avana Mattress Elevator, I'll update this review from time to time. ... show more

  • Avana mattress elevator helps me sleep at night (GERD relief)
Style: California King
I'm dealing with GERD and need to sleep elevated at night. I tried a wedge pillow which was uncomfortable because I'm tall and it wasn't long enough for my torso. So I thought I'd give the Avana mattress elevator a try. At the lower-end price, I didn't care about having to return it if it didn't work out. Needless to say, that won't be an issue because this is just what I was looking for. It arrived yesterday and I slept on it last night. I'm 6'3" 200 lbs and didn't have any slippage during the night. However, that could be due to the Impressions memory foam mattress topper that sits on top. We bought the CGK Unlimited extra-deep CA King sheet set which covered the 24" head of the bed. ... show more

  • Performs perfectly for my needs, elevating my head while lying flat.
Style: Twin
I found this wedge to be perfect for my needs. I bought this to help with sleep apnea, plus I just like to have my head elevated, always have. The 7" elevation seems perfect, I would not want it to be less (5 inches) and any higher and I'd probably start to slide down the bed. I much prefer the full bed wedge verses just the pillow type wedges. I'm more comfortable being able to lie flat as opposed to bending my back to raise my head. Very much a personal choice. I did have one concern from reading the reviews before buying, and that was the firmness or compressibility. For me, being around 180lb, it does not seem to compress at all! Just to be clear, I place the wedge under my mattress, not on top of it. It arrived compressed and rolled up. I unwrapped it and let it swell to full size for a good 8 hours. Then placed it under the mattress and slept on it that night. I did not notice any odor. I'm very happy with this product and recommend it to others. Great quality and performance. Best of luck. ... show more

  • No more acid reflux or snoring!
Style: Queen
Purchased this product to help solve my nighttime acid reflux issues. Works great! I kept a food diary for a week, so that I could learn what my trigger foods were, and then hung a list of good and bad foods on my fridge. I also stop eating several hours before going to bed. The added benefit of the wedge is that my husband no longer snores! It took two nights to get used to sleeping on a slant; but now, after a couple of weeks, I am totally acclimated. I sometimes slide down a bit during the night, sometimes I feel the need to scoot back up, sometimes not. My bed is not as pretty as I prefer, so I think I may remove the wedge when I have a party or something. I don't care if my close friends or family see my slanted mattress. Turns out, lots of them have issues with reflux too! I think elevating the feet of my four poster bed would be super ugly in comparison. I placed the wedge between the box spring and the mattress and covered it with a flat sheet. Best to just to remove the top mattress before placing the foam, then cover with a flat sheet. You will be able to slide the mattress pretty easily over the foam with the flat sheet in place. The sheet tucks in nicely, and does not become untucked, because the foam has friction to hold the sheet in place. You will find out that it takes a little more effort to reach the bedside table and to climb into bed, but it hasn't been a big deal. Maybe one day I will get a mechanical bed so my bed looks prettier, but for now this is perfect and I'm happy to have a better life because of it. The two foam sections matched each other perfectly and there was no smell. I don't think I would like a half wedge on top of the mattress, because I know I would just slide off and it would be hard to sleep on my side because of the severity of the slant. The full length is a much better solution and I like that it is under the top mattress, because who wants to sleep on foam. ... show more

  • Did not help with GERD, but did create back pain and a frustrating return without a full refund
Style: Queen
I was very excited to learn about the existence of an inclined mattress support. It seemed like it would help my issues, as I have slept with various above mattress wedges, extra pillows, etc for years. When I got it, I quickly found out it did not help my GERD. The bigger issue, however, was that it was causing me to slide down my bed in the night. This feeling was very unnatural and worsened my sleep quality as I could feel the minor sliding motion and friction throughout the night. I am 6'0" and 165lbs for reference. I would wake up with back pain, which only worsened as I continued to use this product. I eventually was fed up with it, and decided to return it, which opened up a slew of new issues. Please note as THIS IS NOT WRITTEN ON THE PRODUCT PAGE: "The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund." You cannot try this product out to see if it works without being on the hook for it. This is very annoying as I have never had this issue with an Amazon Prime item before, and again, was not mentioned once during the purchase process. This also seems like a racket to me as they recommend you place them into two separate boxes that "should be 30 x 20 x 20 (queen), or 38 x 20 x 20 (king)." Acquiring those boxes is $30-40 alone, then I get an extra amount deducted from my refund (which will be closer to the full product cost of $150 to ship two massive boxes across the country...). So what am I going to be getting in return? Hopefully more than nothing to ship these two pieces of junk back. If you decide to go ahead and purchase this, be mindful of this policy and that you 100% WANT the product. You don't want to deal with this headache of a return process. Finally, the product itself isn't anything special. It's just straight cut dense foam. The edges aren't rounded or anything, and it discolors and attracts dust/hair like any other dense foam. Maybe the 5" version is better as it doesn't make you slide down as much, I'm not sure. But if I were you and looking at purchasing something like this I would at a minimum go for a lower incline. Best of luck everyone. ... show more
