Oh my goodness! I really like this sweeper! I remember my mother having one when I was a kid in the early 70s. I like how convenient it is, no need to always get the broom and dustpan. I use them on the rugs that my vacuum would destroy and it works well on ceramic tile and on my hardwood floors! Easy to use and empty.     • Great for thin washable rugs!!
Finally something that will work on my washable rugs! Our vacuum is too strong and the broom felt ineffective. This thing works like a charm without having to wrestle my vacuum everytime I need to clear crumbs from the dog and my 4yr old. Only warning is that the plastic handle does not fix onto the top bar. Overall I really like this. Recently moved to a home with tile and wood floors. Have had to buy a lot of rugs to keep the dogs from slipping and because the floor is so cold. It works really well with the rugs. It picked up a lot of hair! It doesn't work as well on just the floors. Or maybe it just doesn't pick up dead grass pieces that the dogs track in. Does a decent job on cat litter. I have a large washable potty pad under the cat box. It works well in the middle of the pad but not the edges. The edges just don't stay down as well as a rug. It can't get close to the walls. So will still need to sweep or vacuum near walls or edges of furniture. As others have mentioned, the handle is absurdly short. It needs one more metal piece to be comfortable. The top handle piece was extremely hard to attach. I was unable to do it. I tried for a week. I do not see anything inside the handle part for the metal bar to screw in to. I finally had my hubby give it a go. He was able to get it to stay attached. Used a piece of silverware throught the holes in handle to twist it down. So far it has stayed on. Although I've only used it once since he attached it. ... show more

This is a manual product. I have used it four times and the central brush fell out on its own. I have contacted the help center at Bissell and I will update this review if they get back to me. Of course, I am 25 days past the return window at Amazon. Fingers crossed. I wouldn't buy this again now that I see how it is made. Too much plastic. This is the update: I contacted Bissell. Had a live chat. The operator gave me instructions that made no sense despite the fact that she knew what model I was working with. She was describing a different machine. She finally suggested I go to YouTube and look up a particular link. The link led me to how to replace a Fuller Brush brush roll!! After watching it, I realized what a much better mechanism they use for a carpet sweeper. I am going to try to return this to Amazon and buy a Fuller brush product. Bissell has a really poor design here. New update on 11-28: Amazon customer service finally agreed to let me return the sweeper, but it's 2 weeks past the 30 day return date, so they're charging me a "RESTOCKING FEE" of $4.80. I'm finished with ordering anything I don't already own and can trust. Watch out for new fees, folks. Amazon just isn't making enough money. That $213 billion dollars they made in 2023 thru September. ... show more

    • Good sweeper, but handle sucks.
Good sweeper, easy to use, gets a lot up from carpets....but, the handle is so thin, flimsy and short!!! I'm not sure the handle will last.

This item, the manual sweeper, works very well. It sweeps up even the tiniest particles with no chords trailing behind. I had considered one in the past, had seen one online, ordered it to give it a try, and I'm really impressed. It works great on bare floors and our low non-shag room size rug. You will have to keep the rotating brush underneath clean though. I'd recommend this sweeper to anyone who is thinking of trying it. And it would likely be a good gift to give to someone. ... show more

Putting this thing together = 3 Stars (feels cheeeep like the sound a newborn bird would make) Using it for the first time = 2 Stars (it was clunky, barely seemed to work, and shorter than expected) ***5 Takeaways for the Best Experience***: 1. Drop your expectations - it's under 30 bucks (at time of this review) 2. It will be a PITA to twist together, but don't rush, and it will be just fine 3. After facing the logo OUTWARD (aka it looks upside down while you are looking down using it) it will work as expected! The other direction, not so much 4. Don't press downward while you-re using it, it won't make a difference Lol - All you need to do is let it roll back and forth naturally, just like in the YouTube videos you've probably watched :D 5. At the end of the day. This thing picks up those annoying little dirties, without having to break out the <insert brand> vacuum cleaner! Easy (and dare I say fun) enough to use multiple times a day and keep things looking clean! Stop doom-reading reviews and go with this one!
