Description

Forget lugging around a heavy vacuum while cleaning, the BISSELL CleanView is lightweight and powerful, meaning it’s easy to maneuver from room to room and still packs the powerful punch needed to clean multiple surfaces. Dirt and debris are no match for the OnePass Brush Roll, providing a satisfactory clean on the first pass. Plus, with Scatter-Free Technology, you can clean with confidence knowing you’re picking up even the hard-to-see, debris from the floor. But we also know messes are not contained to the floor, so the CleanView comes with specialized tools like the TurboBrush Tool, Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool, and Extension Wand, which all store on board and are always within reach while cleaning. And when your cleaning is complete, maintaining the machine is simple with the Easy Empty Dirt Tank, which empties straight into the trash with the easy push of a button. Its washable filters and multi-level filtration system also keeps the CleanView running like new, so it’s ready to clean whenever and wherever the messes happen. Removes most surface debris based on visual test BTP0221. Buying this product saves pets. BISSELL proudly supports BISSELL Pet Foundation and its mission to help save homeless pets. • Like this more than my new Shark
Style: CleanView Orange
I bought this to replace a similar model made by Bissell that I'd purchased in 2012 or 2013. That model is no longer made or I would have repurchased it immediately. It served me well and kept every home I've lived in clean. Since I got a very large and unexpected Christmas bonus, I purchased this model PLUS a Shark vacuum. You know what? I think I like this a lot better than that over priced Shark. While this feels like a very flimsy, cheap vacuum cleaner (and it IS), it was a breeze to assemble, it has the same tools as my old Bissell and the suction is just as good and powerful as my old, now deceased model. I have 3 short haired cats, my own long hair that is always shedding and I live in a very old, 3 story house in a big city on a main throughway, so I get outside dirt as well as the day to day dander, litter crumbs, dead skin cells and other normal human/animal and household detritus. My house has ancient hardwood floors, uncarpeted stairs and antique Oriental area rugs in every room. My Shark arrived this past Wednesday, I assembled it and vacuumed thoroughly on Thursday evening. Unless it's mid spring (cat shedding season), when I have no choice but to vacuum at least once a day, normally I vacuum the house once or twice a week and that is sufficient to keep things tidy and hair free. The Shark seemed to perform just fine on the wooden floors and the rugs but I was not wowed by the suction, even though, like the Bissell, one can adjust the device depending on the surface being cleaned. I got a full cannister with the Shark after my Thursday evening vacuuming session. That seemed about right. BUT- Today is Saturday. I just assembled the Bissell and vacuumed the entire first floor. I had to empty the cannister 3 times. Both the Shark and this Bissell have cannisters that hold about the same amount of stuff. Let me add that I live alone, I work from home at a sedentary job and am barefoot or in stockinged feet the majority of my waking hours. As I type, I am sitting here and wondering just what good the Shark is for nearly $400... This may not be your Be All, End All cleaning machine if you live in a 4,500 sq. ft. house with several humans, a few 4 legged mammals with fur coats, wall to wall carpet through out and close access to a sandy beach or a forest floor, but I believe that this inexpensive plastic carpet sucker can and will fully and faithfully serve the needs of a normal household just fine for at least a decade. ... show more

  • Great Buy!
Style: CleanView Orange
I decided to buy a new vac because my Oreck was on its last legs. I reviewed a number of brands (Dyson, Shark etc ) and settled on this one because the reviews are so good, the price is so reasonable and because I have a Bissell rug shampooer that works great. This is a great vacuum cleaner...easy to assemble (FYI, I'm not the least bit handy ) easy to use, and incredibly powerful. I have 2 long-haired cats so I vacuum the rugs every other day. My first use of this vac was on a low pile rug I considered clean because it had been vacuumed the night before. I was blown away by the amount of hair and dust this vac picked up off that rug...none of which had been visible to me. I literally had to empty the cannister after the first use. I also have two shag rugs... this vac is equally good on those rugs altho, as is the case with any vac I've used on them, it is harder to push on shag rugs. It is easy to remove the dust cannister and I have had no trouble with the hose...it snapped in to place easily and has stayed in place. I recommend this vac without reservation...it really is an amazing vac at a very good price. ... show more

  • It sucks ! (Not really... ...I mean, it does, but it's supposed to...)
Style: CleanView Orange
I guess in today's "profusion of plastic", one has to expect things to just seem chintzier than in Ye Olde Tymes - and this unit fulfills that expectation. That said, one use into it's service life, I must compliment its performance. Suction power's good. Edge cleaning capacity is good. Rotating brush on the head seems to do a good job lifting carpet nap & getting down in there to clean. Watching dirt whirl around in its transparent canister... ...eh... ...underwhelming. This is my first canister vac. I like just dumping out the dirt into a bag or garbage can, but repeatedly cleaning filters & swabbing out said canister instead of changing bags seems sort of like swapping one type of droll mundanity for another. Whadda ya gonna do ? Accessories for the unit strike me as being similarly chintzy in construction as the vac itself. Not much they could do to make plastic tubes like the hose extension & crevice tool robust, I suppose, but the dust brush could be sturdier. There's a wee rotating brush gizmo I didn't use this time 'round. Nice addition to the "arsenal", I guess. The hose is a bit short for using the accessories. Maybe the apparently chintzy construction is to allow it to be lighter so you can lift it more easily to clean up high. It is pretty light, which is a plus. Clips & gizmos are provided to stow all the accessories right on the vac. I read one review before purchasing this unit which poo-poo'd the location of the power switch at the base of it rather than near the handle. It seemed odd for a second, but it's located right where you can just nudge it on & off with a toe - plus the release to allow the vacuum to lock standing straight up or pivot to be used is right next to it, so you're pretty much just going "click, click, boom", so to speak. Speaking of filters, there are 2: One's a disc shaped sponge-like thing that can be rinsed with water to clean it. Judging from the amount of dirty water that was wrung from same after one use, I'd say do so every time. The second is vaguely reminiscent of a wee automobile engine air filter. A pleated paper thing in a plastic "frame", which the instruction manual suggests replacing every 3 to 6 months. Haven't priced replacements yet. All in all I guess this will be a good light duty vac. Only time will tell how durable it is. ... show more
