Screws are very soft metal

So just in advance if you're buying this go ahead and get your own screws The screws they send are just about as soft as aluminum absolute junk. And I also am having trouble programming the fingerprint reader. Other than that it's a decent product

Works great but is loud when opened

For less than $90, this is a good deal. It's solid, and so far has been reliable. In the very unlikely but possible situation where you will need this, it has to work flawlessly, as you very life could possibly depend on it. Therefore I like that it has three ways to open it. The quickest is the biometric finger trigger. Once it learns your fingerprint, a quick touch and it immediately pops open. You can program multiple fingerprints so other adults in the house that need access can open it. There is also a number pad on top that you can program your own personal code. That is also quick. If for any reason those don't work, there is a key at the bottom that opens it. That key of course then has to be hidden close by. It's easy a nd painless to set up as the instructions are well written and in clear enough English. However, getting the tray back into the enclosure can be tricky. There is a spring you have to detach when pulling the tray all the way out so you can attach the bracket to wherever you're installing it. Getting that spring back in the right place gave me a few fits, but eventually I got it re-connected. My only negative is that when it opens there is a relatively loud bang as the door that pops out with your weapon hits the stop. It's actually loud enough that if you're upstairs in a bedroom, when it opens you can definitely hear it downstairs. At two o'clock in the morning when everything is quiet, it's sounds even louder. Depending on the situation, you may or may not want an intruder to know you're awake. I easily solved this by putting an angle bracket with a little piece of foam padding against the wall of my desk where I installed this. The tray pops out and hits the foam and it's silent. However, this could easily be done internally when it was designed. Therefore, only four stars.

Easy to install and set up

This was easy to set up and install. Be sure to use good quality batteries when setting it up and document when they were installed with a replace-by date. Dead AA batteries tend to leak over time. The mounting bracket is very versatile, allowing this to be mounted to a right-hand or left-hand wall, or even hanging from the underside of a desk-top. Storage for 1 handgun and a spare magazine. You can fit a 2nd spare mag, but it will not be secure to the foam. This offers 3 methods of opening - Code - enter a code and access the safe. Fingerprint - this is the fastest way, and you can register multiple fingers from yourself and others. Key - this is intended as a backup - but it's reliable in case the batteries are dead. The angled access panel allows you to mount it a bit further back and out of site - and yet still access your handgun.

I’ve used several biometric safes. For the price point, this pop out pistol safe is the best I’ve used. Very easy to setup and install. LED in the interior is the perfect amount of ambient light to see in the box when you open it at night. Rubber/foam is of good quality. Spring deployment of lockbox is strong. Will fit most subcompact and full sized handguns; just know you might have to cut some foam to fit full sized handguns that have a larger weapon mounted light. Comes with batteries, mounting hardware. Very intuitive to program a passcode or dozens of fingerprints. This is a great looking safe with all desirable features anyone would want to keep a firearm safe but quickly accessible. At this price point, it would make a fantastic gift. Highly recommended.

Great handgun safe. Very easy to set up the code and fingerprint. Very sturdy and very quick response when trying to open it. I got it with the idea of having it next to my night stand and have quick access in case of an emergency. really like how fast they open.

Really impressed with this safe. The quality seems to be great, the fingerprint reader is really quick. Setup is easy. You have to use the keys to open it for the first time in order to get to the setup button under the keypad. Although as we soon figured out is that the keypad just pops off and exposes the reset button. Which is really a bad design because anyone could use the button to put the lock into setup mode and add a print of their own or a number combo if they knew how
