This biometric pistol safe has a strong and extremely durable body that will not be easily broken if someone wishes to tamper with it. The body is very strong and designed to resist unauthorized entry. Programming the key code and biometric entry is very simple, and once programed, the safe opens immediately and rapidly to give you instant access. The mechanism throws the door open with speed and force to provide full access without any sluggish or partial movements. So far, the battery life seems to be excellent, but in the event the battery does die, there is a physical set of keys you can keep separate that allow you to still access the safe without any issues. Overall, this is a well designed product that has exceeded expectations for performance and design. A well earned 5 stars.

I’m impressed by the design and construction of this handgun safe, particularly with its use of four different methods for unlocking. The steel box, drawer, and bracket all appear to be well-made, and the pop-out mechanism works reliably. While the safe has a solid heft to it, it is not heavy gauge metal and not comparable to a permanent gun safe. Mounting is fairly simple, although I found the drawer difficult to remove and this made securing the safe to the bracket impossible because I could not install an internal screw to “lock” the safe to the bracket. Multiple unlocking mechanisms allow the user flexibility in use: 1) typical numeric buttons on top are programmable for 4-6 digit PINs, 2) a single fingerprint reader pad can be programmed, 3) a covered port on the back corner opens to allow traditional key opening, 4) a Bluetooth app can be downloaded for wireless communication to the safe. I found the keypad on top to be the most useable, as the buttons are well-spaced and indented. It would be better if this keypad would illuminate when your hand is near the safe, but a little practice in the dark with a thoughtful PIN choice is an alternative for low/no light situations. The fingerprint reader does a pretty good job, but it is sensitive to finger placement and will not recognize the fingerprint if its placement is rotated on the pad. I programmed the fingerprint recognition with my hand/finger oriented on the pad AFTER the safe was installed in its final location to improve the recognition. I did not download the Bluetooth communicating app, as it was not provided through the (reasonably secure) Apple App Store and I had no particular use for it. The drawer slides open fairly quickly once the lock is triggered, with a spring loaded mechanism providing the force. I found that there is an extra inch or so of travel possible if the drawer is pulled on a bit after opening. This is not an issue for smaller handguns, but I would’ve preferred this extra travel as it makes accessing and removing a full-frame semiautomatic handgun (like my Glock 22) a little easier. The foam inserts are removable for placement of a variety of frame sizes and designs, although the presence of an accessory such as a light or laser forward of the trigger guard may require the user to build their own foam insert. A blue LED light shines into the drawer when it is open, an important feature. In all, an impressive handgun safe at a reasonable price point.

The media could not be loaded. This is as described. This thing is well designed! I had a hard time even getting the mounting bracket off until the unit was unlocked and open which was annoying, but it would keep someone from just taking the safe with a gun inside and walking off. This has a keypad for a code, a rapid fingerprint unlock, emergency keys AND you can link it to an included App and open it with the App! That's four different fail-safes for opening this! It has a battery pack that takes four AA batteries which will operate the safe as well as a USB-C charge port that you could use without the batteries and hard wire it! There are a lot of options and it's very customizable. Plus! It's got an LED light that lights up the inside when the code is entered. Like I said, lots of extras. It's definitely a 2026 safe (modern tech) Now that my child is getting older, I was wanting something besides my dresser to keep my handgun in but also something quickly accessable. My wife likes that or has emergency keys and code in case I'm unavailable to open it with my fingerprint. Everything is metal and super sturdy The foam inside is removable to different depths and sizes, so this would accommodate just about any pistol or handgun. Get yourself one of these! Highly recommend!

I'm always skeptical on handgun safes that use a fingerprint reader. This one fulfilled me skepticism, though it's great every other way. When this was delivered I was surprised at how heavy the box was. Obviously these sheet metal safes and safe boxes are not going to be the most robust items but they have to compromise in a lot of ways. This one is the heaviest gauge steel that I own out of three or four lock boxes like this. It's simple to operate, uses common batteries, is very straightforward mounting with a bracket that the box slips into. The nice thing about that is I can actually carry it with me if I felt so inclined or move it to another room. Programming is very simple for both the fingerprint scanner and the combination. It also has a third way of getting in the emergency keys. Obviously this won't keep out somebody who's determined to get in there but this provides a level of security that the handsy kid or teenager can't get to it, and it leaves you with a sense of security. The keys works great, the combination code works great, but the fingerprint scanner only uses four samples and I found it to be pretty picky about having great placement to get it to work afterwards. There is always a slight delay with electrical components but it does pop open quickly. It's large enough to fit all the way up to full size handguns though it's not likely to be able to contain the largest handguns on the market. The price is actually better than I expected there are safes that are cheaper but most of them comparable to this are significantly more. Overall it's a good buy though, My biggest problem now is trying to decide where to put it.
