I bought this headlamp for camping and winter night hikes. I have used it once on a night hike and I’m a fan. I found the band to be very comfortable. I like that it is adjustable so I can point the light down to see where I’m stepping. I love that I can plug it in and charge it rather than using a battery (which is the reason I decided to purchase this one). Very difficult to turn off or get the proper light on. I can not get it off red. It is nice and bright when you can get it on white. head band is flimsy and comes out of adjustment all the time.....hard then, to re adjust. Charging port is under a plug that is very difficult to get out of the way far enough to get charger plugged into it. I had a better model before this one....liked it a lot....but battery wore out. This one is junk. I would love it send it back for a better one. ... show more

    • Great backpacking headlamp. Very comfortable and lightweight

relatively speaking, this is a very lightweight headlamp - suitable for backpacking (unless you are a "gram weenie" ultralight type backpacker). The light output is geared toward being able to perform essential functions in the dark, and the lamp can tilt down far enough to illuminate something in your hands without having to hold your head at a weird angle. I really like that it has a red lamp option, which is super useful when you want to preserve your night vision for stargazing or other reasons. I'm not a fan of strobe features (I have NEVER in my life found myself wanting a flashing strobe and I find them annoying to cycle through). This has a strobe feature for both the read lamp and the spot light. Oh well. But this headlamp does remember the last setting you used so that when you turn it back on, it will be in the mode you left it in. Another really good feature is that it has a "lock" - you can press and hold the power button and it will lock the on/off switch so that you don't accidentally activate the lamp while it is in your backpack jostling around and then find yourself that night with a dead headlamp. VERY useful. It is also very comfortable to wear. Probably the most comfortable headlamp I have ever owned (and I have owned MANY over the years!). The price point is premium for the features, but the unique design of the band makes it worth the price, particularly if it lasts a while. Super lightweight, button can be annoying to depress with gloves on. Bright for what it is, nice dimming, and mode memory feature. Fits great under the brim of a hat so you don't lose any light that would be impeded from hitting the ground.

I wanted a rechargable headlamp to do some precision sewing at my work table. This is the lightweight model I found on Amazon. Great product. It burns through it's rechargable battery in one session, so recharging is a must after every use.

I use it for morning runs as well as camping and it’s perfect. It isn’t bulky at all and it puts out so much light and the red light feature is perfect for not blinding anyone . Highly recommend!
